The blog Urlesque has proclaimed this day 09-09-09 to be "Day without cats". Instead they are encouraging the posting of cute fluffy bunnies.
Well, here's what I think of that!
Everyday is Caturday on the internet.

A Day Without Cats on the internet
Sorry, but the image of the cat and the curtain made me think, "Be glad you don't have a parrot, people." They can wreck anything a cat can, PLUS stuff way up high (if flighted). And curious! More parrots die from curiosity than felines, I'm sure. So what if the feathered brats have IQ's as high as preschoolers? Dive-bombing a pot of boiling s'ghetti is not that bright.
Of course I Loooooove my Hubby's little fella. But in terms of destructiveness, he can cut a much wider swath than my friend's 7 cats. For an example, listen to Oliver made a mess; Oliver needs a bailout and imagine what he must have done!
They have a way of insinuating themselves into every facet of one's life:
Okay, sorry for hijacking (it's one of my pathologies I think) ... this ends the session of "Elfdame's For The Birds" and we return to the cat talk.
I'm not too good at all this BB Code stuff, but here goes:
and a cute cat/parrot pairing.
