Even more Nighty poetry!

Because I was inspired by Nights_dreams and Bamf Bunny, here I am posting a piece of Nighty Poetry I wrote maybe a month ago. Thanks, you guys. And thanks to other poets, if I missed your posts.

Gläubriger

The light burns.
Snakes and spurns, stakes and urns -
We've all learned how light burns.
What is a demon?
I don't see them when I look in the mirror.
Am I blind?

Shadows conspire.
Snares and myres, funeral pyres -
No survivors. Shadows conspire.
Most believe that.
They forget there's good in the night,
That in darkness one sees beyond sight.
They just run.
Never even coming close enough
To try to make a connection.

Will they ever stop fearing the unknown?
Will we ever stop being alone?
O Lord, will I ever stop being so alone?

In the sunset of day I pray
In the patterns cast by stained glass...

One candle sways gently.
Someone still believes
That light can glow and shadows bloom.

A beautiful poem that is. You know how to use rythem and rhyme, and the poem creates a feeling of darkness and lonelieness. Reading it feels a bit like listening to a sad song, ( that is meant as a compliment).

That made me feel good inside. And I really appreciate the "sad song" comment... I do know what you mean. I adore the power of sad, but beautiful, songs... and to be compared to them is really an honor. I thank you again, and for all the other kind words.

Fine verses. I really enjoyed that. Your poem had a nice rhythmic flow. It felt like reading lyrics more than poetry.
Well done. Based on this poem, you have a knack for conveying both imagery and sensation without losing a sense of structure. Go you.

I'm sure Nighty would luv to recite that! ^.^b

Pirotess: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I can't thank you enough for your comments. And for reading this thread in the first place.

Siona: I'm under the impression Gläubriger means "Believer." In a thread I saw here once that translated most of comic Kurt's German, there was a story arc that was something like... ach... "Something, Believer, (the) Fallen". I pinched the German word for "believer." I hope it's right. If it's not, by all means, correct me.

And thanks for you comments as well... you guys have no idea how much feedback like this means.

And as a random note, I think my poems read like lyrics because I subconciously want to make them into songs someday. Here's hoping I can do that!
