Hey did anyone make any big changes in the site... like HTML wise in that past couple days? Because all of a sudden my computer (I'm borrowing a friends to write this) won't show this site, it only shows that whole 'This page cannot be shown' thing and I was wondering if you changed some html thing that my computer doesn't like... or maybe it just doesn't like me... i dunno... .. i was just wondering cuz maybe somethings broken and needs to be fixed...... thanks.

haven't changed abything in the forum's code in about a week....

well. i did add a list of credits for the smilies on moresmilies.php. but that's it.

Ummm...I changed my signature.....? Maybe your friends computer was just being weird. I know MINE usually does that when I really need it!*beats computer*

No, it's MY computer that won't work... it's weird.... it just stopped letting me go on.... i hafta borrow other's comps. thanks anyway.... maybe my computer is just being stubborn... again....

50 characters. That means 50 letters per post. And yes, you can't post anything less than that. This is to reduce the amount of needless "'yeah! I agree' and that's it" posts. We expect and encourage more thought-out reponses here.

by the way...i love the little "go back and make a real post!" comment...its evil and nasty....and i like evil & nasty ...i just wish it was my idea.....oh well..i'll think of something else...

well, we arent expecting everyone on the forum to post Harvard quality essays as posts.... but we are hoping to encourage SOME thought in the majority of posts. as well as reduce the needless clutter and chit chat in the threads with the addition of this hack. 50 characters is NOT that much. a complete sentence or two and you've got it covered. but it is a hell of a lot more than 'yeah! i agree!' or "LOL" nonsense. and please be aware we have a rule against the number of smilies you can use together now, too. so filling up the post with smilies will get your post deleted.

yeah i think the 50 character rule is a good idea, except i dont see why it is necessary in the Off Topic Antics section, just because a lot of posts are short because of the games like The Person Above Me and the Word Association game. plus post count is non existant in there anyway. is there a way you can take the 50 character limit off in Off Topic Antics?

That is what I was talking about when I was asking about not being able to post 50 characters or less. In "what are you doing" is a prime example. I didn't remember the 50 characters of more before the hack. Understandably, I agree with the 50 characters or more. In another forum I belong to you can post one word and it is fine. They also let you use a little foul language and you get to ridicule someone by calling them names. They claim its not allowed but it sure gets real ugly there. I like being here. Everyone has a right to their opinion but there is no name calling and everything is civil. Thanks guys!
