LOL, kickass, HM!

Scum and I got a bed! Finally, and it's a double and was completely free, my mum and brother brought it over in the car and it used to belong to my mum's best friend's mum. AND it's got cabinates underneath it so scum and me have somewhere to store all the stuff that's randomly piled up since we had nowhere else to put it

YAY! that's exciting! great way to start the new year!

After two weeks of sharing my bathroom with crazy family members I finally get it all to myself.

I got accepted into the Art Institute of Chicago.

As for today's astounding coffee, boyfriend went out and got a xbox 360, which he's keeping at my house, and he bought me Left 4 Dead.

But SRSLY, I'm super-proud of you. We've had lots of discussions on that stuff before, I knew you could do it.


I for once have some fairly good news.
I got a whole new wardrobe and I look like the PHLYest MoFo on the streets!

To be honest I look like Panic @ The Disco sometimes, but that's okay. Got all sorts of waistcoats, vests, dress shirts, cotton plaid button ups, and lots of fun tees, a new hat (I love new hats), a AWESOME jacket that makes me feel like I'm an X-Man when I wear it, and new jeans. Entirely new wardrobe for an entirely new me.

Oh and I got a pipe, like Holmes has.

I like getting new hats, too, especially if they're practical (like my toque) or they make me look like a pirate or like (in the case of my newest hat) Indiana Ange.

My ass ended up astounding (sounds like s/t my hubby would say, haha). Coffee, that is.

Last night I went to the monthly folk music jam, and only three people showed up who were ready to play music. Usually there are about a dozen, and I'd brought a friend to listen.

The astounding-coffee parts are:
I did alright singing whatever I knew and kept up for a while accompanying on guitar (hey, most folk stuff only has about 4-5 chords anyway), and having to do more than my usual 2 well-rehearsed songs caused me to crawl a bit out of my shell;
a new guy drove in quite a ways and he played great accordion;
my friend called her husband and he came and totally wowed us, doing "Long Black Veil' and "Silky" and "Peggy-O" and other stuff -- a very accomplished guitarist and he played that 12-string like nobody's business;
a good time was had by all.

I bought the Watchmen Ultimate Cut.

I thought my modem had died, and we are due for a few days of sleet, freezing rain, snow, etc, and I was afraid the AT&T stores might be closing for the day before I could get to them ... but I did one more double check, changed my surge protector, and ... {cue angelic chorus of "Hallelujah"} that was it. Grammaw (me) gets cranky without her internet.

Woo, it's only -30c and going colder.

Maybe I should go for a jog.

I am going to recap my evening for you all... are you ready? warning... there wiill be fangirlish like behaviour.

I was invited to a screening of the latest episode of Southland tonight Ben McKenzie was there!

I was randomly selected along with 7-9 others to meet him. MEET BEN.
We walk in and he comes up to each of us, shakes our hands says "Hi, I'm Ben." We responded and he went down the line. By the end of that, we were all kinda in a horseshoe around him and I said "Ok, now you have to see if you can remember all of our names." He got the cutest grin and kinda blushed a bit and chuckled and was like "Oh I do, huh? Um.."
the lady beside me had been talking to me outside and we discovered that a play I'm auditioning for at the end of the month is one she did as a younger girl and she happened to tell him this, so he turned to me and started talking to me about it. AND he told me good luck!
Then he looked down at the papers in my arms and saw his picture on top and said "Oh, you want me to start signing those now?" and he took them from my arms...
so we go up to the table thing and he signs my pictures first and mine says "To: Katherine- With Love, Ben McKenzie" After the screenining, I asked the others what he wrote on theirs... They all got "much love, ben mckenzie"
he told me like 2 other times good luck.
then I was the last to get a picture with him. everyone else he had come to him, he came to me. also, I noticed in my picture, he's smiling bigger than in the others I saw. I also noticed that he held me closer than anyone else... and no I'm not just being delusional.
during the pic, he held me tight and then gave me one of those semi-side-hug things I can still feel his arm around my back and his chest on my shoulder. *swoon*
as he was leaving the meet and greet, he reached out to get my attention to tell me good luck another time.
then, he kept glancing at me during the open Q&A later. (I was in the front row) One of the most memorable I actually got on camera and didn't realize it. It was after his first question: "Which are prettier: Texas girls or California girls?" His answer was they're all beautiful, but Texas girls have the one up b/c they're definitely nicer. The lady beside me nudged me after that answer because he was lookng at me. I thought I was imagining it.

Ok, anyway..... That was my night. IT WAS AMAZING! If he hadn't had to catch a flight after I'd have asked if he wanted to go out for drinks or something. If nothing else to talk about acting. If NOTHING else. LOL

so yes, amazing time! and he likes me!

I don't know why, but I never imagine online buddies to be as good-looking as they actually turn out to be. I would be jealous of your good looks, but it takes too much energy. Glad you had a fun time with the lttle blonde guy.

Wow, what a nice guy. He looks like a real person-person. Glad you had a great time!

Thinking about going for a job which for me would be a real dream come true. Having to do some real soul-searching and there's a high chance I won't get it, but...yeah.
