Dagnabbit, Scum's in the lead. I knew I should have brought in guest appearances by other mutants, those usually push up ratings :shifty

Don't know about that. Guest appearances by bamfs and boggies seem to work, too. Not so much guest appearances by characters based on one's own kids, though.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a "died laughing" smiley? (Ooh, my kids would love that!)

Strange. I know people are checking this poll to see if there have been any changes in the tally, but no one's voted in a while. :shrug

The FV&TTT April/May Writing Challenge Poll!!!

Apparently my scheme -- to bribe those folks with "will work for food" signs and have them join and vote -- is not working.

Now I must try something truly devious ...

My guesses are that either everyone likes them all and can't decide, or they are all too busy writing Instances, or they don't really care who wins. I don't care either; writing it was a challenge I needed (to get out of my own voice and write as a different character) so I'm happy. Plus, now I have something I can give people which introduces them to Nightcrawler -- although usually I lend them #2 (of 4 limited issue from the 1985-6) since that's my favourite Nightcrawler ever ever ever.

Agreed. It was a challenge I needed as well, not to mention it was a great way to introduce my kids to the joys of ficcing. (Though I'm wondering if I created some monsters here. They are already overjoyed at the request I received to write a sequel.)

It was an awesome challenge - I'm really not in this to win, never was from the start and I'm convinced that the others were way better then mine. Hell, mine isn't even finished!!

It was just really fun to write a totally new character from scratch, and being able to put in my own humour as well.... :) it's also one of my first real fics too - the RP fics don't count, really - and it was a real joy to write - though I think my other half might have wanted to kill me with the amount of times I stole her laptop to write it :halogrin

Hey, I'm sure more than 13 of us have read these stories. At least, I hope so. And there isn't much time yet to vote, is there?

Maybe a lot of us are just taking a lot of extra time to re-read all those awesome entries because the choice is just so difficult. Yeah. That's it.

The FV&TTT April/May Writing Challenge Poll!!!

Haha, I'm one vote away from scummy's :bounce

yeah, writing this thing was all nice and fun, I never actually thought of trying to win this, if I did then I wouldn't have made my story so tediously boring. would have added some action, whams, bams and thank you ma'ams. But in the end it was just a fun topic to write about, and may even finish one of these days.

but now that I saw I got three votes (mine not included, I'm not that kind of an a$$) I realised that maybe the idea of winning is nice :D

I *am* an @$$, Steyn. If I thought mine were the best, I would vote for it. And if I thought an entry were good but was lagging behind, I would vote for that one just as an encouragement.

I haven't voted yet because at the mo, I keep getting conflicting answers from the I Ching sticks, the Tarot cards, and the tea leaves. Totally kidding -- that is SO not me. (Not anymore)

I did enjoy all these entries. And what a head rush, to know Angelique's daughter liked my silly fluff! And my hubby actually READ part of hers -- that is so cool!

One thing, though -- does that mean we have until all Tuesday the 17th, or do we have to finish voting/deciding on the 16th and no votes taken on 17th? (I know, Freud had a word for folk like me.)

Thanks, Rowena, for a great stimulus, and to all the story-spinners for the enjoyment you've given us.

The poll closes on the 17th, so yeah it would be best to get your votes in before that day just to make sure you don't miss the cut-off. Once I close the thread, no one'll be able to vote.

You're very welcome, and thank you all for your awesome participation!!! All the banter on this thread has really helped me develop my idea for the next challenge prompt. I'll cross my fingers and hope you'll like it at least half as much as this one. :) There are still about three days left before this poll closes, so as long as people keep voting it's anybody's game. Best of luck, and thank you again for your terrific entries!!! :D
