Completely biased but funny recap of the movie "Jesus Camp"

I wanted to post this but had been going beack and forth, because this recap is SO obviously biased. But it does present a bunch of actual sound bites and he makes some GREAT points, and it's a funny as hell read. So, enjoy!

But seriously, is anyone else as disturbed as I am by that one sound clip about young people being as devoted to Christ as those who are to Islam? Are they really looking for suicide bombers for Christ? That's just scary.....

And does this all seem rather....cultish? Or is it just me?

Really really evengelical Christians just kind of make me nervous. It's almost like we don't think Christ is the same guy.

It sounds like that movie would make me nervous too.

This has to be the best comment ever on beliefs and evangelism:
I don't care if you want to worship a teapot in outer space -- that's your business, but if you make it mine, I'm going to have a comment.
That guy wrote a great review. Thanks for posting the link.

OMG, yeah, that would make me nervous as hell too....

They were talking to a cardboard cutout of Bush? :shakeno

It all strikes me as frighteningly cultish, and let's be honest - if they were this fanatical in any guise other than Christianity they'd be pegged for what they are - nuts.

That can't be real. It can't be.

If it is, we are closer to the apocalypse than I thought.

Heh, this reminds me of a time back when I was still getting dragged to church every week.

There was this visiting group of... youth.... Jesus... people. I don't know what they were doing there, frankly. Probably recruiting for Jesus Camp. I don't remember much, but I do remember they sang some songs, and that the songs made everyone else in the church very very uncomfortable. You could feel the collective mortification. I think it really brought the congregation together in their dignified, understated beliefs. :)
