This actually happened last Friday, but I’ve been annoyingly busy…

The Iowa Supreme Court unanimously overturned a ban on same-sex marriage. They determined the ban was unconstitutional. Color me shocked that it was Iowa of all places to go all progressive in the Midwest. And unanimously at that. The ruling takes effect April 24 and Iowa has no residency requirements for issuing marriage licenses.

I heard about that and for some reason figured there was already a post on it. Oh well. YAY!!!

Vermont too! So, now we have FOUR states that allow it! Plus New England has a new thing going called "Six By Twelve" that will hopefully get all of New England to allow same-sex marriage by 2012!
