The agreement apparently included a payment of $16,000, 150 cases of beer, 50 cases of Gatorade, a sports drink, 100 cases of soda, six cases of meat and two cases of wine in exchange for marriage to Martinez’s daughter.
Now, people are thinking this might be based on a cultural misunderstanding, this part

tells me he knew very well that he was breaking the law of the country he lives in, but gave a crap.

Yeah, I saw that yesterday and headdesked. It is a fact that daughters are often 'sold' or 'traded' into marriage in many cultures worldwide. It's simply unacceptable. I hope that they really ding this man.

At 14? She's probably very confused. I can't imagine trying to make these kinds of decisions at 14.

Hah, that's a fine add to the list. One can only wonder what he was thinking at the time.
