In response to Nacht's Challenge #5...

Talia entered the room just as her father was finishing one of his tall tales.
"...and that's why they say 'it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye'. Mothers know the truth of things, ja?"
His audience was pale, but appreciative. Obviously he hadn't spared any gory details.
"...coool..." whispered one.
"Da-a-a-aaad..." Talia rolled her eyes. "You're not telling them the eyepatch story again, are you?"
He turned his good eye to her. "Such an insolent daughter I raised," he teased. "Accusing her own father of spinning tales..."
"Itwassocool!" An audience member - one of the ones more immune to imaginary blood and guts - bounced up and down in place. "He was holding off a *hundred* pirates anna dragon!"
"Ho boy..." Talia sighed. "He did *not* lose his eye, kids."
"*What*?" The kid looked betrayed.
"He's got this little flaw in one lens and he's too proud to wear lenses in a fight." She moved quickly, snatching the patch off her father's bad eye. "And on that note, Dad, I got you this."
Dad took the monacle. "You're an absolute bad sport, old girl," he said, roleplaying to the hilt.
That was Dad. Equal parts gung-ho leader... and bad influence on the students.
