Krazy Komix Writin' Chica

Post by Panz »

Ive recently got a job writing some original comix for a small company....I am telling you all right now that it is a lot of work...but fun! I hate writing the proposals the worst of all, not because I'm afraid of rejection, but because I am not good at writing a synopsis *errk*.

Im lovin' storyboarding and scripting tho' and was wondering if anyone else here works in the comic medium and what there thoughts are on it? Do you use scripting and storyboard software? paper napkins? I have very little practical skill at this yet and am having a fun time figuring it out. I have five different proposals that Im working on at the moment and not a lot of time to do other things like breathe, eat , sleep....

Cool beans, Pandora!!

I've never been sure just how they break a story into pages and then panels. You might try looking for some online comic-scripts.

I've never worked in the comic book industry, but as a designer I devide pages and use visual heirarchy to make some parts stick out more than others. If there's a moment you want to stand out in the story, you might want to give it it's own page, or the largest or most prominant panel in a page.

Neat! You're very fortunate! Good luck on the work!

Vala: "Hello."
Daniel: "What the hell are you doing here?"
Vala: "Isn't this my room?"
Daniel: "Noooo… your room is across the hall… with the… guard in front of it."
Vala: "Ah yes, they do all rather look alike don't they? Anyhow, Since I'm here, shall we make the best of it?"
Daniel: "No, we shalln't."
