Drawbacks of Dating a Fuzzy Elf
Here's a couple of crude cartoons I did based on the idea that dating Kurt would have its own set of unique problems and quirks. These were inspired by bluefooted's sock picture.
I hope someone besides me finds them amusing.
I'll post more as I draw them.

Hee Hee, very funny! Good point about the "love bites", it looks as if she has been attacked by a vampire.
By the way, your personal drawing style looks really cute.

LOL, these are really good, especially the first one. I love both of their expressions, she looks ready to kill and Kurt looks like "what'd I do?" Good job
They call it "PMS" because "Mad Cow Disease" was taken.

Those drawings are so cute! The "Love Bites" is a good one. I wonder if Kurt has had a problem with biting his females in the neck during their lovemaking. he..he..of course its not funny to his victims tho:bamf

So sad, they just look like little red x's in little red boxes to me. Any chance you could tell me how you posted them? Maybe knowing that will help me fix the problem that turns all the smileys and most of the graphics into stupid li'l x's.

They're hosted on a friend's server. He must be doing maintenance or something lately. It keeps going in and out. I'll have to ask him about that.
I'll put the pictures on my school server until the problems are ironed out. Ay yay yay.

Dammit, InterNutter! You called me on my next one! Hmmm...I suppose I could take requests. Anyone got any good ideas?
Thanks for the encouragement, guys. I really appreciate it. I'll try to do nicer jobs on the next ones. I did each of these in about 10 minutes, so I don't find them very satisfactory.
(And yes, I'm using myself as the girl. Nyah nyah.)

Wow, your eyes are freaky huge! And your hair forms into such, um, interesting geometric shapes. Uh.
(I'll take your word for it on the portrait, but the cartoons are still cute!)

Nice, nice! I take it you like anime? I'd have to say that the first is my favorite, mostly because of Kurt's hair. *pets his poofy head*

Siona: Yeah, I like anime, as well as pretty much all animation and comics. I read and watch anything as long as it's good. I've spent the past year getting shocked out my "OMGANIMEWAIWAINEKO!" phase, but the lingering effects on my art are still apparent. I'll always have Japanese influence in my art, but there's nothing bad about that. I'm still searching for myself...
It really irks me when people tell me that I "draw good anime." I'm grateful that you didn't do this. ::puts away her sword::
You know, it's kind of funny that people always see the effect that reading manga and watching anime has had on my art, but no one ever takes notice of all the years I spent watching Disney movies or studying classical painting. Those influences are just as important, but no one ever comments on them. I wonder if it's because we take them for granted or because of the anime fad that's been happening in America the past several years. It's interesting, confusing, and frustrating all at the same time.
...Okay. I just wanted to get that off my chest. I'm not going to go into full rant mode. Not here.

Snicket, my love, I actually immediately thought Disney when I saw these. Not that they are completely Disney style, but they are very reminiscent. I really don't see a huge anime influence, these have more character to them than most anime I've seen (yes, I'm one of the few anti-animers...don't hit me!). I really really enjoy them, very clever!

I AM SO ANGSTY!!!!1
Thanks, Nacht. That's encouraging. Even though I don't hate anime at all, I'm really getting tired of seeing the formulaic big eyes, small mouth everywhere nowadays. Especially in the online art community. I admit that I did it at one time, but that just makes it more irritating. And I never intended to stick with it forever. I just wanted to learn what I could from it. I have to admit that it did help improve my drawings a lot, but I finally had to move on.
I figure that the serious artists will realize like I did that there's more to comics than manga and expand their horizons. The ones who aren't serious will probably just get bored.
I really hope the mainstream attempt to copy the manga style will go away soon. The Marvel "Mangaverse" really doesn't do it for me. And that latest Death "manga" that came out, At Death's Door, is just terrible. I hated the art so much that I didn't buy the book, despite my love of Neil Gaiman's characters and Jill Thompson's work (usually).
I just wanted to go up to Jill and scream at her. I love her original style so much. It was one of my favorite parts of the Brief Lives volume of Sandman. I also loved the things she did in the series The Dreaming. Why did she feel the need to draw it like a manga? It makes no sense. The story would work just as well, or better, in her normal drawing style. Did she do it because it's popular? Because she thinks it's cool? The end product just looks so amatuerish and wannabe that I can't stand looking at it for more than five seconds. It's like trying to read a Superman comic drawn in DragonBall Z style. (Now THERE'S a scary thought.) I honestly don't know why Neil gave it the okay. And I REALLY don't get how people can praise it as good work when it lacks any originality whatsoever...
Huff. Huff.
Sorry. This is a sensitive spot for me. I really didn't mean to go on a tangent like that. I'll stop now.
