Just found out a cousin of mine (who had been a best friend/honorary big sister to me when I was a kid) and her two kids were in a catastrophic car accident yesterday. One of the kids is in serious condition, but expected to make a full recovery. My cousin broke her neck and is paralyzed. And her other child suffered massive head trauma and died several hours later. He would have been 14 Sunday.
If anyone inclined to pray does so for the Brumit family (and maybe for a certain very heartbroken yours truly), that would be greatly appreciated.

That is terrible Ange...I don't know what to say. My thoughts are with you in this difficult time.

That is terrible news indeed. The Brumit family and yours have my deepest sympathies and are in my thoughts and prayers.

Good news... at least compared to the rest of what's going on. The little girl is home from the hospital!

I'm so sorry that happened Angelique! But, I'm glad the little girl is okay! An experience like that is something nobody should ever have to go through.
The Brumit family will definitely be in my thoughts!

Well, I have some good news and bad news.
I was able to get a hold of my cousin by phone today. She had just gotten out of therapy and was wiped out, so we didn't talk long.
But all the fractures in her back (she had one lumbar and two thoracic breaks beside the two in her neck) are healing up nicely, and she has regained some feeling in her legs. Still can't move them or use them, however, and what she's feeling right now is limited to either excruciating pain, or feeling like her limbs are made of jelly.
But still, it's a sign that she may actually recover some mobility, despite what we'd been told earlier.
However, she and her soon-to-be ex are both in for a world of legal trouble, and I can't mention any more about that because 1. the courts will have to resolve this and 2. that whole topic infuriates me.
