'Allo! I'm new here, as is evident by my small amount of posts. (My postage? : ) I'm known as Ryuu-chan, or Ryuu, anything works. I found this place through BAMFCentral. I love just reading all the posts, and the caption contests. This place is great.

Bonjour. I'm Lloyd.. I'm a mod over at X-fan... I've lurked for a while, but my love of Jill/Bamfette has finally caused me register and post here.
Although I must admit, the Nightcrawler smilies are a bit freaky.

Greetings. I've been visiting here a while and finally decided to register on New Years Eve. Couldn't keep silent any longer. The site is fantastic, and everyone I've spoken to on the chat room has been terribly welcoming and nice. It's great to be able to talk about things with so many like minded people.
So, a little about me. My real name's Kathryn, but most call me Kat. I'm 22, and in my first year of Uni studying Archaeology. I'm loud and love making people laugh. I'm also very stubborn and a perfectionist - a typical Taurean. I am a HUGE comics fan, and spend far too much money on them considering I'm meant to be a poor student. I'm also a big fan of cult horror movies - Bruce Campbell is God.
Looks wise I'm 5'2" with blue eyes behind glasses (REALLY short sighted), and I currently have purple hair (usually dark blonde).
Well I think that covers everything.
See you in the chat rooms.:

Hi, I'm new around here ^^ Name's Arctic, er.. more like Catharine, but years of using this name on other boards kinda made it stick with me. :
I admit, I've been bad and been lurking for.. oh.. 5 months? Usually I'm just so quiet and lazy I don't bother to register! But then again, Nightscrawlers is too irresistible for me to not join.
I first got sucked into loving Kurt from X-Men: Evolution, and I'm just now entering his comic-verse world. I bought a book with the first 6 Ultimate comics just to have a glimpse at my favorite little elf.
Anyway, I hope to meet you all and get some more obsessive new friends!

Hi!
Wow! I haven't waded through all 20 pages (!) of this thread yet, but here I am. I'm 35, in Washington DC, not an artist, and discovered Kurt, Dante, and related things in 1980 at the age of 13 with X-Men Annual 4, "Nightcrawler's Inferno." Loved X-Men up till about 1984 or 85, kind of dropped it for a while, got into Excalibur during the Davis periods, and am enjoying the current runs of Uncanny and New (Morrison).
I'm probably the oddest person here. No, really.

Hmmm. Still the oddest, then.Originally posted by ahmed
Hi! You've joined some 80-odd (with emphasis on the odd ) members of a forum devoted to Nightcrawler!
I, too, have a degree in English, and I'm in Arlington. Kurt's faith largely helped originally inspire mine, interestingly enough, though I'd say C.S. Lewis took over from there. Though I do agree with some that his entering the priesthood (... on the fast track, apparently, and allowed to run around in a super-hero team, but I didn't see the issue(s) which explained this...) is kind of odd. I recall seeing the bit in an alternate future when Amanda Sefton (his wife) had died, and he'd become a priest afterward -- that I could see more easily. But I think it's the "religious people must become clergy" assumption at work... ah, I ramble...Originally posted by Shadywhisk
I'm 24, have a degree in English . . . Hey BlueJubatus, I'm from Virginia too! I graduated from James Madison University, but live in Hampton Roads now.
. . . I love NC's sense of humor and frivolity but most of all his faith.
I, too, am a guy. There was confusion on another board on that point, albeit briefly.Originally posted by Nights_dreams
hehehehe so it's out in the open..IM a guy! *yells to the world* im a guy!!!!
Apparently.Originally posted by Fuzzball
Hey, is it me or are there quite a few Virginians here?
Hmmm, I think I should keep going after page 7 later, but I'm at work (blush) :

Right, I'm back, doing work, then some 'scrawling, work, then 'scrawling...
Ye gods, it's like Ship of Fools. I'd better be careful lest I let myself get too distracted...
I never did quote Arctic Fox, so I will.
Congrats on the Hugo nomination! That's quite impressive!
I started to read X-Men in 1980 with Annual 4, then the very next issue I got was Jean's funeral in which the whole history of the team was given (how convenient for me!), and accumulated all the previous "New" X-Men issues over time (i.e., Giant-Size on up, in reprints at least). I stopped buying around Secret Wars II or thereabouts, and really dropped a lot of Marvel for some time, though I did pick up and love Excalibur, till about last year also (I mean, Grant Morrison on X-Men, Straczynski on Spider-Man -- wow!).
I am curious about Chris Claremont in various ways but I am not sure I should ask here. I do agree that someone can dislike someone's writing and still like them as a person -- two of my favorite authors (Lewis & Tolkien) had some difficulties with that, as Lewis loved Tolkien's work but Tolkien did not like Lewis' as much.
I, too, love Gaiman's and Alan Moore's work.
I'm not as much into bishonen as yaoi, and not most yaoi as much as kuma (bears (rather than pretty-boys), like those of Go Fujimoto and Gengoroh Tagame, but the latter can be a bit too graphic at times). My anime tastes range from Cardcaptor Sakura to Serial Experiments Lain to FLCL to Ebichu the Housecleaning Hamster.
Humm, back to work again... more on post-page-7 later...

Since 1980 here too, also single, but no cats, and have only been to England once. If you are in Cheshire is that a Cheshire cat?Originally posted by arctic fox
My name is Sue and I've been a Kurt fan since 1980. . . . I'm 38 years old . . . very happily single with one adorable 18 year old cat and live in Cheshire, England. . . . I am a Hugo nominee . . . I started to read the Xmen in the early eighties, stopped when Chrissy left and just started picking up the Xmen again late last year. . . . I've met Chris Clairmont on lots of occasions (we even swap cards at xmas) so I don't appreciate personal attacks on him - though his writing is not as sharp as it was, I can see that. As a person he is a sweetheart.. . . I love comics like Mage, Sandman, V, Watchmen, Omaha and Love & Rockets.
I also like bishonen-ai, (pretty boy anime from Japan) cats, foxes, real ale, red wine, canal boating, medieval costuming, English Civil War re-enacting, sf fanzine publishing.
Congrats on the Hugo nomination! That's quite impressive!
