So, apparently Kansas City is in the middle of a UFO flap... and I think I saw one too...
There was a report on the news (when they aren't stalking the Lisa Irwin thing) about a UFO sighting the other day, and now on the way to work I heard about more sightings.

On Aug. 19 I saw something in the sky, like nothing I've ever seen before or since. The Kansas City Air Show (the one where a pilot was killed and made national news) was set to start the next day, so at the time I thought it was a stunt plane practicing... but now...
It was probably 9-10 p.m., just after dark, and my mom and I were coming out of a grocery store. I saw a bright light, white or off-white, that looked like it was coming directly down toward the ground. I paused in loading the groceries into the back of the car to watch it, but didn't think much about it. Earlier in the day, I had seen planes practicing in the area.
But then this light just stopped. I thought the plane had leveled out and was coming toward us, making it appear to hover. After a few seconds, however, it made a sharp turn to the west, headed that way for a few more seconds and then disappeared. There was no sound. I couldn't tell if it just vanished, the light went out, or if it took off at a high speed. Basically, I didn't know what I had seen.
Other people in the parking lot were watching it as well, and after it disappeared people just looked around at each other and then went on. I finished loading the car and went home. It was odd, but I didn't think much about it until I started seeing reports on the local news of other UFO sightings.
I've never seen a UFO before, or even thought I'd seen one, but now I'm wondering and I'm rather weirded out. Think I'm gonna report it to MUFON...

Meanwhile, some stunt pilots are probably having a big laugh. Knowing some of them, I wouldn't put it past them to be able to fly like that and revel in everyone's confusion.

I wouldn't say right away that it was aliens, but I certainly would not also dismiss. I would say that further evidence an sightings need to be investigated.
Anyone else remember this scary as hell incident from Arizona? My sister-in-law watched htis happen. Said she nearly crapped her pants. (She's from AZ)
It's happened a few different times too. '97, '04, '08, and I think back in '88. All of them in the AZ (usually Phoenix) area. You would think that this means something is going on repeatedly out there, but you know... it's pretty curious.
Also, another thought... if any of these aren't just hoaxes but rather military testing... and they're going out and flat out denying doing any testing... it makes you wonder what the heck they would've been testing if they had to deny it. That seems even scarier to me than UFO's.

Either they're testing nothing, or they're testing something that's even minimally op-sec sensitive. Just because something's classified doesn't mean it's that scary a secret. Consider how long it takes to declassify even stuff we would consider quite mundane.
