In chat we share a lot of stories and pictures, and I thought it would be nice to share those here on the board. So where's some of the pretty places you've been?? We can be our own travel agents LOL.
One of the places I've been isn't very far from me - Wells Grey Park, BC Canada.
You (or anyone) can literally get this same shot - it's from the public viewing area of the falls. But it's something else when you're listening to the roar of it and feeling the spray that's in the air.

I found this on Youtube....(I hope you don't mind). That's loud! Is that close to what it's like (except for the spray)?

I love waterfalls. I've never been anyplace that fantastic. But I would love to go to Pitkovice Lake in Croatia. It's called the Land of Falling Lakes and its like 16 lakes, one on top of the other and they fall into one another with hundreds of waterfalls. And the water is clear blue. Has anybody been there?
----------------------------
This is were I take me and my dog swimming in the summer. It's called Louise-Hayes Park in Kerrville Tx. It's really beautiful when we've had rain to keep everything green. It's about 30 min. from where I live.

I've been everywhere
I was totin' my pack along the long dusty Winnemucca road,
When along came a semi with a high an' canvas-covered load.
"If you're goin' to Winnemucca, Mack, with me you can ride."
And so I climbed into the cab and then I settled down inside.
He asked me if I'd seen a road with so much dust and sand.
And I said, "Listen, I've traveled every road in this here land!"
I've been everywhere, man.
I've been everywhere, man.
Crossed the desert's bare, man.
I've breathed the mountain air, man.
Of travel I've had my share, man.
I've been everywhere.
I've been to:
Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota,
Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota,
Wichita, Tulsa, Ottawa, Oklahoma,
Tampa, Panama, Mattawa, La Paloma,
Bangor, Baltimore, Salvador, Amarillo,

Well,
In the day we sweat it out on the streets of a runaway American dream
At night we ride through the mansions of glory in suicide machines
Sprung from cages out on highway 9,
Chrome wheeled, fuel injected, and steppin' out over the line
h-Oh, Baby this town rips the bones from your back
It's a death trap, it's a suicide rap
We gotta get out while we're young
`Cause tramps like us, baby we were born to run
yes, girl we were
Wendy let me in I wanna be your friend
I want to guard your dreams and visions
Just wrap your legs 'round these velvet rims
and strap your hands 'cross my engines
Together we could break this trap
We'll run till we drop, baby we'll never go back
h-Oh, Will you walk with me out on the wire
`Cause baby I'm just a scared and lonely rider
But I gotta know how it feels
I want to know if love is wild
Babe I want to know if love is real
Oh, can you show me
Beyond the Palace hemi-powered drones scream down the boulevard
Girls comb their hair in rearview mirrors
And the boys try to look so hard
The amusement park rises bold and stark
Kids are huddled on the beach in a mist
I wanna die with you Wendy on the street tonight
In an everlasting kiss
1-2-3-4!
The highway's jammed with broken heroes on a last chance power drive
Everybody's out on the run tonight
but there's no place left to hide
Together Wendy we can live with the sadness
I'll love you with all the madness in my soul
h-Oh, Someday girl I don't know when
we're gonna get to that place
Where we really wanna go
and we'll walk in the sun
But till then tramps like us
baby we were born to run
Oh honey, tramps like us
baby we were born to run
Come on with me, tramps like us
baby we were born to run

I have an entire photo album on Facebook devoted to my crazy outdoor adventures as well as to one of my favorite causes (national parks!). The wonderful thing about all the places documented is that they're all at most maybe a two hour's drive from my house.

I also took this video in my back yard's most famous national park.

Of course, I have to put pictures of my favorite place in the whole world: New Orleans, Louisiana.
Corner of Bourbon and Toulouse
Cathedral through Jackson's Square
French Quarter Nightlife
Moonrise over the city
On a road trip to Florida, my mom, sister, and I stopped here and took the tour. A lot of people don't believe the ghost stories, but I had a personal experience with them, so I believe they're there.
The Myrtles Plantation outside Baton Rouge
Nearly every summer when I was a kid, my entire family (including aunts, uncles, cousins, g-parents) would go to schlitterbahn in New Braunfels and float the comal river outside our cabins.

Lake Michigan from Chicago, IL. Not the greatest picture of the lake, but it's the best I have. It looked way cooler coming into the city in the morning.
Indianapolis, IN. This is the sunrise taken from the end of my driveway while I was waiting for the bus. I don't have any pictures of the actual city since going downtown is to be avoided at all costs, especially on race weekends.
Sunset. Also taken from my driveway.
Australia:
Sydney. Definitely my favorite place out of everywhere we went.
Opera House (outside). My brother took this from the park that's across the harbor.
Opera House (inside). Usually you can't take pictues in this room, but they let us since the stage wasn't set up.
Bondi Beach. The water was really cold, so I didn't go swimming.
Great Barrier Reef. We swam and bought underwater disposable cameras to take pictures.
New Zealand:
Rotorua. Our hotel was on the lake. It was cool. There was steam rising from pretty much everywhere because of all the thermal heat.
Auckland. People bungy jump off the tower, which is the big, pointy thing. Sadly, we were only in Auckland overnight.
I've also been to Richmond, which is barely in Indiana, and I've been a lot of places in Pennsylvania because of family that lives there. I don't have good pictures of Richmond because I wasn't trudging through snow for them, and I won't have ones of Pennsylvania until August when we visit. We go through Ohio to Pennsylvania, but we only stop for lunch or dinner so no pictures. Been to Kentucky once, and that was in fifth grade.

I've only been to the places where I lived. Except for Kimberly. Which has a Big Hole.
Kimberly's Big Hole
Went there when we lived at Koffiefontein
But then again, how many people uses a Table Mountain as a marker if they ever got lost in a city?

Here are a few places around here that are interesting. The rivers around here are very clean and clear and like Esy said, thousands of people tube down them every year. The Comal is popular. The Guadalupe is too:
http://5minuteswithmolly.files.wordpres ... shoe-l.jpg
Also, we have Enchanted Rock which is the largest granite dome west of the Mississippi. It's hard to find some good pictures of it because it always looks smaller than it really is because it's bald and there's nothing on top to show scale. This is the best one I could find. The dots are people.

Oh...and this is what they do with unruly kids (lol):

And I went to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park when I was a kid. I loved it there! I want to live there one day.

We also have this place in Austin called Barton Springs Pool. It's part of the creek that they closed in. It's spring fed and is COLD. But it's real popular:

Awesome pictures guys. Like having a free world tour.
How about Lake Louise? It's between Calgary and Revelstoke.
And Kalamalka Lake is always fricken wonderful. The name means 'lake of many colours'. It's in Vernon, BC. Cool place to swim too - you can hike out a good 50 feet and have water only up to your waist.

I love the Smokies too, Jeremus. My in-laws once had a vacation house in the mountains, so I've been to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park many times. We also visited the Cherokee Reservation, on the other side of the park, in North Carolina. Very nice area.

Sometimes the most beautiful place happens to be right out your windshield. I only happened to be on the road through a place called Paradise Valley when I snapped this.
I also added pictures of Oregon's Clackamas River, Idaho's Malad Gorge, and Devil's Washbowl (which interestingly enough isn't that far from Paradise Valley) to my Facebook album, Sunday at the Park.
