Ship? That's a floating city!

My awesome coffee is quite simple. I got online radio on my 'puter. Now I can get my jazz fix pretty much whenever I want.

That's great, Angelique! How did you do that?

I can get classical music from our local PBS radio station on my computer, and I can get drum groups from Powwow radio, but I don't know where to get jazz.

Do you like Dave Brubeck? I have Time Out and also Impressions of Japan on CD.

"Brubeck is best." :D

It just hit me Croc, that all those fantastic ocean liners that looked like floating glass and steel that I used to go down to the docks look at in Seattle were built in Finland! Is that Aker Finnyards? (my old Finn roommates used to brag about about their homeland a lot including how most of the cruise ships currently on the water were made there. I don't even know why I remember that name.)

That must be an awesome job. I love jobs where you're building stuff and doing things with your hands. Really rewarding.

Thanks for the pic!

Sure do. And I bookmarked WindowsMedia.com's radio tuner.

I couldn't get that to work for me, but I remembered that when I lived in Cincinnati, I used to listen to Xavier University's radio station, WVXU, and they had this program:

http://www.wvxu.org/schedule/jazz.asp

I bookmarked it and I am now listening to Ella Fitzgerald, online. :)

I hope they have some Brubeck. ;)

When this is finished, how about volunteering your couch for a good cause? :shifty (Like, me sleeping on it for a few days. Or we could just meet up for coffee or something.)

Okay, the men here? Are so hot. They are tall and fit and handsome. I am like this: :shocked all the time. Woohoo!!

After six hours of poking at the emergency room, they figured out there's nothing wrong with my heart.

...not that they do know what really is wrong with me, but it's not that.

First baby tooth my son lost: broken in half in a fall and the remains pulled by the dentist.

Second baby tooth my son lost: knocked down his throat in the bounce house at the school Halloween carnival.

Third baby tooth my son lost: today, after a week of wiggling, he pulled it out himself. No tears, no trauma!

I had that happen with one of mine. I bit into a tootsie roll, and it broke. I got a good amount of money from the tooth fairy for each half. :shifty

Got my intestines prodded with a long, flexible tube this morning. Why this is something for the astounding thread, you ask? No, it has nothing to do with strange kinks on my part.
But not only did they find out that I'm perfectly healthy, I also got to stuff my face at the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet place afterwards. :D

Did you have a colonoscopy? I had one of those recently. Got the all clear too. But the stuff I had to drink in preperation? That belongs in the other coffee thread.

Just got back from seeing Public Enemies for a second time. Absolutely love that movie. I think the only thing bad about it is walking out of the theater and wanting to be one of the 30's gangsters... :shifty

Yep. And I totally agree about the preparation. That was by far the worst part of it. They put me into dream-land for the examination, anyway.

Was yours awful slimey lemony stuff?

But yeah...total la la land. I walked into the room, they got me to lie down, they told me everything they were doing (putting sensors on me all over the place). They put this little thing in the back of my hand. They put a needle in the little thing that shot something into my hand that hurt like hell. Then they put another needle full of milky stuff in the little thing on my hand. Then I woke up half an hour later.

I've had two. The lemon salt ginger stuff once, which was easier. The omg 4 gallons of pineapple stuff the time before that. I'm glad they've made it so you don't have to drink that much anymore.

I alas, didn't respond to the meds either time and was awake, while a bit outta it, for both. Awake enough to yell the dang house down, that's for sure. It's not too bad till you come to the first flexure of the colon (I know this cause I've also had a sigmoidoscopy and was totally awake) but after that it hurts. A lot. The milky stuff would have been propofol. If I ever have to have another, they're giving me that. Cause it's baloney to have just a heavy dose of narcotics.

On my 'good news' is I'm back from camping, currently clean (though still slightly smoke flavored) and tanned. It was a great time.

Was not at work because I slept one hour before I should have been there.
On the other hand I went shopping and bought a new jacket, two pants and a shirt for only 28€.
I also reserved a laptop which I'll buy at friday when I get paid.
