Congrats, DS - nothing like digging out of a debt! Now go spend a lot of money to celebrate! (jk)

I spent like $8 on this so I guess I took your advice. Honestly, I was so happy to see real toothpaste I almost didn't care how much it cost. Korean toothpaste tastes like cat pee.

I don't really have anything so the money-spending has just begun. I've got a big list. This is going to be fun!

I actually learnt someting today :cracked

I was also told I have a unique, high soprano acting voice, which is nice as no one ever told me that before.

I got 45 pages scrapbooked and the hubby loves it. I'm sure that the kids will as well - they read the scrapbooks over and over.

Since the hospital was closed I had time to kill. I went to a bookstore and noticed a shelf of English paranormal romance novels that said $1. I was like, no, not possible. So I translated all the gibberish around it "To all our respected customers! The books on this shelf are $1 each." Nah, I must have translated it wrong. So I asked the clerk. They were really $1! Two of my guiltiest pleasures satisfied at once! (Bargain hunting and magical porn.)

$1 books? Bonus!! That'd be a third guilty pleasure for me - buying books when my bookshelf is way too full.

And you need to get your parents to ship you a care package now and then - a box of toothpaste etc.

There are now four things that make the hell of my job worth while. I provide academic guidance counseling to returning college students, I sometimes get to help nab identity thieves in the process, I just got a raise, and my benefits kick in today.

I got a desk and a chair! My coworkers told me where the store was and I thought I'd have to wait a day for delivery. I paid for it and the guy said "deliver now?"

I like chairs without arms for my computer and they had one. A nice one. Sitting in it now.

Got to go home from work early today.

This upcoming weekend is a long weekend.

I'm abusing the Library of Congress instead of using the pay program to catalogue books. It makes me feel ninja-like even though it's quite silly.

I was on the surgical service at my clinic today.

I scrubbed in on a six different procedures: a laminectomy (back surgery), a lateral fabellar suture (knee surgery), a splenectomy (to remove a giant tumor), a perineal urethostomy (to unblock a cat that couldn't pee), a cystotomy (on the same cat - opened the bladder to remove a stone that looked like a small planet), and a "lateral tie back" (repair of a paralyzed larynx in a dog that couldn't breathe).

Now I'm super tired!

Today's the day we celebrate our Guardian Angels. I've always assumed that mine looks a bit like Mr. T. since I seem to need a little extra help getting thru life. So today's a good day because I'll be thinking about my special unseen buddies all day. And I put a piece of angel food cake in Hubby's lunch.

Made my foster dad cry for a good reason when I told him I took his name officially by deed poll. Big step for the family as it means - to them - that I accepted him as a dad. So he is officially 'Dad' in my books now, and Mom sniffled a bit too.

Get to go see them next Thursday :) Probably going to be hugged to all hell. May not survive. Dad might be shorter then me but he's also brown-belt Judo. Or Kung-Fu. One of them.
