I have had the most amazing weekend. My friends are fantastic, and the long, in-depth discussion with one has meant my life's taken a major turn for the better

Right now, I am chilled and completely over the moon ^^

Matt got the pendant that goes on my necklace cleaned yesterday and bought me a new chain. Hopefully this one doesn't turn my neck green... or black...

My son managed ten revolutions around the sun as of today.

My roommate moved out and I'm almost finished cleaning the shit out of this place. Feels good. No more roommates.

I found the subtitles in the first scene of X-Men First Class to be a completely unnecessary distraction.

I'm in the first week of ten weeks of vacation.

I've gotten through all the more worthy vacation plans (dentist, taking courses, visiting family, psychotherapy) so it's finally time to burn the scars off my face with lasers then just sit around waiting for them to heal. Shhhhyeah.

A frivolous life is a beautiful life.

I'm home from Scotland for the summer, and I get to sit around with my family and play flash cards with my crazy dog...and I get to eat CLAMCAKES!

I really like it at St Andrews, the people are so great and I really enjoy the research, tutoring, and writing (which is why I'm there, I guess), but it's a surprisingly clamless world up there. I had to ask a visiting friend to bring me canned clams from home just so I could get a chowder fix. I've been so homesick it hurt and I Love Rhode Island!

Now, I need a Del's...and a spinach pie...and some pizza strips...and cannoli...and to eat them with my family and my dog while watching the waves crash on the rocks at Beavertail!

I found an artist for my fan project, and he's a fan too!! YAY!! At least something is going right for a change!

Life, life is amazing. I am loving my life. Aside from a few lingering annoyances, I am happy ^^

Kiley's little cousin, Mason, was born Wednesday.

And we just got back from spending a baby-free evening at the theme park with some friends.

I'm finally feeling less tired and achy too, for the first time since Kiley was born.

I get to see my boyfriend in Cali next weekend and see his parents (He's a Marine)

Okay, so...good side to the megarant in the ass-thread.

Out of all that money we're having to pay - the extra £300 included - we only have one more payment to make and then that nightmare of 5 months can be put behind us. No more court summons, no more letters, no more having to explain yet AGAIN we don't know where the other two live and yes, we're on benefits and paying this shit is putting us in bad positions but it's not like you care yada yada yada. That's it, over, finished.

...So now we can finally concentrate on paying everyone else back who we've borrowed off to try and stay afloat in all this.

Baby steps, baby steps...

On the bright side of Matt working late, I actually get the internet for the evening.

My friend who I've been trying my best to help, who's been depressed to the point of suicidal, has finally agreed they need professional help. I can't believe how relieved I feel. I’ve been so worried for so long; this has always been at the back of my mind. I know it’s still going to be an uphill battle for them, but it’s going to be okay. This is going to make such a huge difference.

I have to have a shameless maternal brag-fest. I got valuable, calm, competent assistance splinting a suspected broken arm from... my ten year old son.

Kiley is six months old today!

She also got to see her first fireworks show last night. The weather was perfect, with lightning in the clouds behind the fireworks, yet it didn't start raining until right after the big finale. She looooved the fireworks and made cute little 'ooh' noises at all the really big, bright ones.

And then this morning, Scott found our cat!! He was walking the treeline to the woods across the road from my dad's and calling him and he meowed back. Scott kept calling and Greypants kept meowing until they found each other. >< I think the cat is as happy to be back as we are to have found him.

Hurray Kiley, fireworks, and greypants!

Scott is a total god today. He found the cat and fixed the router!

Today the weather was excellent and it wasn't too hot. It was a nice day for weather.
