Some days I think we ignore the home-grown and just go for imported. Well, wine and cheese are better that way, why not culture too?

RIP Kurt Wagner. You were the character who brought in me into comics, who introduced me and inspired me. Now your death has sent me away again. Wherever you are in the Marvel Universe, I hope its someplace pleasant.

My best friend got in a wreck today on his way home from work and *totaled* his car. :( And by now you all are thinking 'she posted in the wrong thread.' nope, I sure didn't! He's *completely* fine, not even a bit shaken up! The other driver is fine also! The other driver was also really nice and neither of them called the cops. Oh, and friend's dad is selling him a 2002 (that's still like new) BMW for 9,000. Also, while on the phone with him, we started talking about interesting things in the Bible and historical facts from that time period and I always love having those discussions with him. Always so enlightening! So, yes, this deserves to be in the *astounding!* thread!

Imported doesn't mean better. I've had American, even Idaho Rieslings as good as what comes directly from the Rheinland. While I love all the imported cultures, I'm not going to pretend that they by any strecth of the imagination are any better than Native culture.

Representatives of the Fort Hall res got a copy of the article I wrote, by the way. I also found some things about Native American dance that proved useful in my Irish dance classes.

I finally have been able to take coffee of a different flavor (a job I really hated) and make something good out of it. Hopefully people will find this, I don't know, funny as well as informative.

Today I discovered that the job description of "County Fair Veterinarian" doesn't involve practicing medicine on animals at all, but rather drinking beer and telling veterinary war stories in various veterinarians' air conditioned campers.

I finally left to explore and spent a lovely hour watching FFA kids showing the hogs they'd raised. I can't quite explain why, but watching a bunch of teenagers proudly driving their show pigs around the ring made me all warm and fuzzy. (Or it could have been the Crown Royal that they were passing around in the camper, I'm not sure.)

Then I watched a few Western Pleasure events and Reigning (which is amazing). I grew up riding hunter/jumper and dressage so all the sparkly costumes and fancy manes and tails were something else!

I also enjoyed meeting this guy and his animals.

My neighbour has been just awesomesauce about taking my kids to the park the last couple of days. I rest, the kids have fun, we're all happy as hell. She's also made icecream and buns with them. I need to buy her some chocolate the next time I go to the store.

I bought 2l of wine for €4. It doesn't even taste that bad.

There is no competition for the free internet at this hostel (because as far as I can tell, no one else is staying here).

I get to go home in 4 days!!

Also I met a dude. Not a dateable dude, but so damn close. So close! He's just not quite ripe yet. (Also we both want to marry into the EU lol.) I enjoyed meeting an almost dateable dude anyway. Especially because as soon as I started talking to this cool, almost-dateable dude about our mutual undying love for synthpop, other dudes started trying to talk to me too. Even a guy back home sent me a message re: "hanging out" immediately after I met this other guy. Oh dudes!

I had summer reading that I didn't know about until 4 days before school began, and I had english today. Luckily, it doesn't have to be read until Monday because no one in the class read it.

I found the Wolverine and Xmen beach towels at Walmart! They must have realized I was on to them and had uncovered the conspiracy--- so they finally put out the towels for the discounted price! Ha HA!

So then I got to thinking....what does one do with a Wolverine beachtowel? I mean, if you take it to the beach, you have to sit on Wolverine's face,....which is kind of rude. If you hang it over the bathroom door, there they are....standing there on the towel....just staring at you......
I guess I can always just tie it around my neck and use it as a cape when I go out and do hero stuff or something....
It's really nice and soft. I could also wrap it around the cat's pillow and she could sleep on Wolverine while staring lovingly into Nightcrawler's eyes (since he's pictured on the side). yeah....I could do that.:D

Cool beans Jeremus! Congrats on the towel. I want one too. I would wear it proudly like a cape, with Nightcrawler prominently featured.

Not sure what the hubby would say. He's already a little freaked out by the Elf Altar.

Did I show you fellows what I got for myself?

http://eventhorizon1984.ecrater.com/pro ... id=1742575

It only cost me $2.00.

When I bought it from my LCS, he said, "It has too many body parts."

I don't care. I like it anyway. I added it to my altar.

Hello little Rijk! May you grow up to be a Nightcrawler fan!:D

To Neling:
Now, why would anyone be freaked out by an Elf altar (unless you're leaving sacrifices of blue things at it's feet.....but even then, to each his own.)
Congrats too on the multi-limbed Nightcrawler "action" figure. I think it would go well with your collection!:)

Don't let your hubby see my Spidey collection then ... one of my young friends (college age, maidenly type) said, "Doesn't your husband feel a little jealous of Spidey?"

I said, "Of course not, I don't love him that way.

Nightcrawler, now that's a different story. But Hubby is still #1, unless you count Jesus.

Looks like a fun addition to the shrine. You gonna open a museum in Winzeldorf someday? :D
