Got my new (replaced the dead one) ergonomic keyboard. Rigged up a phone line so I can have internet in Parrot's room (our temporary bedroom) while Hubby fixes the bedroom. Finally have some quiet time to work on "Unguarded Moments" fanfic, which is steadily getting a trickle of good reviews (not a lot, but any raw adulation is wonderful for the author's ego, ha ha). And having a BLAST with 6-yr-old grandgirl for summer.

Apparently because I didn't go to work yesterday, they decided to give me the boot so they wouldn't need to pay me for this week.

F*** that s***! I hated my job anyways!

In other words I'm happy I don't need to go back there ever again.

No one appreciates just how good a shower feels when you're running a temperature. Or how awesome pure peppermint soap is when you have a bad nose and a rough throat.

I feel more human then I have done in a few days.

To Angelique:
Congratulations on your article! I was completely ignorant about Idaho's history. I had no idea it was so diverse up there. Cool!:)

To Scumfish:
I'm so sorry you're feeling so bad. Glad you had something to make you feel a little better....even for a little while.

I had a nice week. I had a good morning in the OR today and sent three patients home with good surgical outcomes. AND my last patient of the evening was a cat with cerebellar hypoplasia - my favorite neuro disease in cats!

I bought Michael Clayton.

And I worked everything out with the G/F.

If the dorms at Canada don't want me there (all girls floor apparently) she's going to split a hostel with me.

I am not happy about this however because I saw the film Hostel.

Hostels rule. I slept in lots and lots...They are always so fantastically international with lots of people you get to know on an intimate level quick because of the total lack of privacy. Occasional hair in the shower is inevitable, but look at the opportunities! I only have only one tip, bring earplugs! You'll be all right.

And is it cruel to find cerebellar hypoplasia cats desirable? I'd like one :toothy

So no sex in the Hostel with the girlfriend?

What kind of fun is that? :P

But Srsly that's very disappointing if this is the case.

That said, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid is on. Never seen it, so I'm glad it's on. It's cool, I'm liking it thus far. Gotta love Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

File these under "I never thought I'd live to see the day."

My sister is getting married this weekend.

I wrote an article about gardening. And then I quickly returned to character and included a plug for Starship Troopers and the Alien movies.

Wrote for three hours last night and finally completed a draft of a short last night at four o' clock.

I'm actually pretty happy with it because I had it burrowing in my mind since June.
It's time to start drawing sketches and polish the baby.

I survived my sister's wedding. One of my cousins couldn't be there for that happy day because of a blessed event of her own. So yeah, the cell phones in our family did double duty as the wedding phone tree and baby network! Oftentimes a family expands through marriage or the birth of a child. We got both the same day!

I rediscovered some older written works of mine from my days (daze?) working on a college opera production. I figured they were silly enough, I posted them on my hub page.

Parker is down the street, but I hardly count the smallest city in the U.S. as civilization. And, Bruin is the other way down the street. My grandma's house is right inbetween both though, so it's in the middle of nowhere. So, by my standards, I got to see civilization today since we went to Pittsburgh.

Got lots of sketches done this week.
Also had time to polish the script.

Went to my friends skate movie premier.
Lot's of crowd, good party, great movie.
Unfortunately I have no cash so I decided to skip the drinking part.
Or in this case the part where I watch everyone else get drunk, too bad that would have been a good chance to see loads of people I know.

Nice! I read your article, Angelique. Well done! I appreciated your emphasis on it being "Real American Culture". It makes me gnash my teeth a little when people say that America has no history or culture of it's own.

I saw an article on Powwows.com for that very event. A frybread festival! What could be more American?

I have had the pleasure of visiting the USA a few times and I was impressed by the culture and especially by the regional variations in culture that the country offers. Abroad we only ever get the one-sided Holywood view of the country, and that is doing the country a huge disservice.
