I finished writing this college essay I've been working on for two weeks.
Now, I just need to finish up my portfolio (4 more pieces), poke my teacher about my letter of recommendation, and apply.

Picked up a shiny new toy to replace my brick. It is much smaller and lighter, but has better sound quality and lots of other crap. Working on customizing now, which is a pain in the ass but should be worth it.

Good news: I'm not being kicked out of my flat, I have a sympathetic housing officer who understands that it's not my fault and I now have a job as a professional tarot/rune reader in one of my favourite shops...

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend was having car issues. It would start and shut off. So, he went to show me what happened last week, and it started... except it was making a knocking sound. We thought the transmission or engine was going to be shot, which his parents wouldn't have paid to get fixed.
Turns out that somehow water got in the fuel filter. So, it's just fine, and he's going to pick it up today.

My shiny new toy is the only thing keeping me sane with this "having to stay in bed" crap. I was watching the Amazing Race but I think it might be a bit too much excitement for someone in my delicate condition (not pregnant). (I can't even think clearly and my head is spinning... delicate condition is only for pregnant right? Whatever I'm going back to bed.)

Cool! Is it an old or a new mini?
I'm having a rosary flare-up I'm afraid. I found a blackened gunk-covered thing in an old cigar box at a flea-market. Took it home for €2. After an enjoying hour of cleaning, polishing and looking trough a magnifyer- there's the little French crab hallmark. Solid silver, mother of pearl and enamel! And such a beauty too. Stuff like that is addicitive:content

It's a new mini El. An '09 British Racing Green Mini Cooper S and she is fast and awesome.
I'm ludicrously busy at all times it seems - like so busy it's hard to have time to check e-mail (since my job doesn't really require much computer use and I'm never at home). I just had a couple of days off though where I stayed in and seem to have caught up on things.
Buffalo has been really excellent in most ways and the ways that it isn't are forgivable. Here's the synopsis:
- I work with really cool people and so even though my job is crazy hard, I like going to work. I'm starting to "find my rhythm" as a veterinarian.
- I've made a bunch of friends here through scootering, sports car clubs, and other stuff. (I'm saving for a new scooter in the summer.)
- I am playing in my very first dice based role playing game and much more fun than I was anticipating. We only play once a month. It's in the Firefly universe and I play the medic (not much of a stretch I admit...).
- After 6 months I am now fully programmed to respond to "doctor" instead of my first name.
- I met a fella' and he's very nice. We've been dating a little over a month. (We went to Niagara Falls on my birthday 2 weeks ago.)
- I've had some really cool cases and gotten to do some interesting surgeries in the past month or two. (I've removed a variety of different cancers, a 3 pound benign tumor, a diseased eye, and most recently, a rubber band from the intestines of a kitty.)
- I've just planned a trip to Las Vegas in February to see the Cirque du Soleil shows there (Love, Ka, Mystere, O, and maybe Zumanity...) It's something I've wanted to do for over a decade. It will also be my first trip as a veterinarian to a professional conference; the "real" reason I'll be in Vegas.
So that's what I've been up to.
