The guy who runs the comic shop I go to gives out Christmas presents to his favourite customers, like graphic novels etc.

Mine this year is a copy of New X-men 30 with the X-23 variant cover, signed by the guy who did the cover

I passed my interdisc finals! Got an A+ on the US History part and a C+ on the English part! Also barely passed Chemistry this semester with a D+.

Didn't have to sing at ANY Xmas Masses, got to see 8 of 9 grandkids -- including several nice, long, sit-in-Grandma's-lap sessions -- and four godchildren; spent time with my Dad and beloved stepmomster, and am supposed to see one of my young friends (one of the first to read my Crawlerfic though she has zero knowledge of X-men lore) today.

Woot-woot!

Ever since I went to Confession a couple weeks ago, things have felt so good. I was an idiot to stall so long.

And have NOT eaten myself ill on Xmas candy. First time in 45 years, ha ha!

Also, finally found out what I won in that local contest from first week of November! Put eighty bucks in the bank. I love entering stuff that nobody else bothers with, heh heh.

I must have had a great Christmas. I'm still wiped out!

Biggest highlights of the season so far:

The kids' Christmas music recital.

My daughter serving her first Christmas Mass.

The way my son's face lit up when he opened up How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way.

My parents getting good weather for the trip here, a huge snowstorm the day they stayed, and then good weather again for their trip home.

Having money to go shopping and pay bills, and having some left over.

No more spinal headache!!

Took just a needle in my back, two in my right arm, two in my right arm, several in both feet, one in my neck and then one in my groin (femoral vein). They couldn't find a vein that wouldnt' collapse so it took lots of digging and lots of patience but it was ok.

And now I'm cured!!! Yay!! So worth it!

So you got a blood patch too? Don't you just love it? I just hope you didn't react quite the way I did when I got mine. (Doc asked me if I was feeling any different, and I said, "Marry me.")

So glad to see you're better. I still can't believe you hung in there for six days with that headache!

I've begun putting my new washer and dryer through their paces today.

LOL, it was actually 12 days with the headache. No fun. The neuro kept saying it would go away but when it didn't he agreed to do the blood patch.

The poor dr that did mine was so upset by the time he was done mine he kinda fled - plus he had a surgery to get to that the endless poking for blood had held him up from. He felt really bad for having to be such a 'vampire' with me - ie sticking me in so many places for no avail. The nurses laughed about it afterwards - they said they'd never heard him drop an 'f' bomb before. At least I'm me and was reassuring him the whole time that it was ok and that I understood.

But yeah, sweeeeet relief.

I've held on to this little bit of my inheritance from my grandmother specifically for- end of the year clearance sales!

I am now the proud owner of a '07 Chevy Cobalt at $3,000 less than the blue book value.

I may have computer problems to the max, but I pulled off a 4.0 with an incomplete and I got kitchen appliances for Christmas. You can never go wrong with a George Forman Grill, a crock pot, and a blender!

This coffee tastes like Nirvana.

After a lovely afternoon with two of my writer girlfriends, I realized I was passing by the comic book store, and the invisible landbound sirens called to me so I *had* to drop in and drop a bit of the cash I'd won (that local contest that I entered b/c I knew nobody else would, heh heh).

Just so happens they had a SALE on, 20% off comics (I'd been hearing about a few Kurt-centred ones that sounded good) and a coupon for 50% (!!!) off one item, so got the graphic novel of the first several Excaliber comics for only $10 USD. W00t-w00t! Crawlage galore!!

*sigh* I'm so easily pleased.

Today was way more awesome than my last maroon day. (I have block scheduling, so I have maroon and gray days with four classes every other day.)

For one, I didn't feel like I was about to keel over or throw up everywhere. I accomplished nothing in painting as usual, we went so off topic in interdisc that we hardly discussed anything important in US History and American Lit, and I didn't fall asleep in creative writing because Liz switched into the class and was constantly poking me in the back. Plus, I had two lunches because I ate first lunch which is technically my lunch, and then I signed out of study hall to go to art and had last lunch.
