The kitty at the shelter who has one eye completely gone and the other a sort of shrunken puddle of goo that I swear he can still see out of somehow got an infection and had to have his empty eye socket cut open and cleaned out. He's a trooper and doesn't seem to give a shit at all, but it looks awful.

so as some of you may know my grandfather died saturday and the funeral is this thursday.

The upside to this is, my brother is engaged (finally!!!) and the other bad news is I finally got my blood work back and not only am I way low on potassium, but they're "very concerned" with my fluid.

Which is lame, but nothing i'm thoroughly concerned over.

Phonecall 11pm. Grandad has deteriorated. Probably won't last the night. Just got back from 'watching' and it's 3am. Probably won't be sleeping, will be heading back again later on to take over from fostermom/nan.

Prayers, please. Not for grandad, it'll be release, but for the family.

'Death watch' (can't be called anything else) has now lasted from 10am. Taking an hour or so break and then back we go.

Doc reckons tonight. Certain cocktail of drugs have been authorised to be given as and when required.

Managed to get a couple of hours kip.

This. Sucks. Ass.

To Scumfish:
I've been through "the watch" with two of my friends...one was on Hospice and the other in the hospital. It's very hard to go through and you feel like you're on auto and you don't know how you're putting one foot in front of the other but you end up in the room that you don't want to go into and at the same time want to be in because you love them. I'm so sorry you're going through it. It'll end soon and you'll know you were with him and in some place deep down, he'll know someone was there....even if he doesn't respond or know it on a conscious level (at least that's what I believe). I'll be thinking about you and your family and your granddad.

To Angelique and Ult_sm86: I'm also sorry about your grandparents. It's horrible when you lose grandparents. My thoughts are with you both.

To Esy: You and your aunt are also in my thoughts.

What a month.

Got bad news. (8:45pm) Couldn't sleep so I took one of my mild sleeping pills for flights and fell asleep. Woke up still feeling like shit. (5am) Tried to go to work anyway. The bus part of the trip didn't go so well so I got a beer and chugged it in an alley full of whores. (7:15am) Got to work and knew I couldn't do it. (8:15am) Started crying hysterically on the subway on the way back home and had to get off. Chugged a vodka cooler in the subway bathroom and tried again. (9:45am) Went to the store and bought a ton of alcohol. Took it home, stopping at the cat shelter for two sob-free hours. Finally arrived home now. (1:30pm)

Do not want to talk about it!

Still going. 3hrs sleep in 72. Don't know what the hell is keeping him alive but it's wearing on us. Back home for break, going back in a couple of hours or so to begin again.

Dead on my feet, been in the same clothes for two days, managed to get a shower in yesterday.

Just want this over and done with.

I will be retaking the exam, not sure when exactly, but if I fail the second time, I have to retake the whole course and it costs an insane amount of money.

My boyfriend's mother is a bitch. If she wasn't going to bring him over, then she shouldn't have said she would. Though, the whole issue could be avoided if she'd let him get his license two months ago, but no. Supposedly, he's not ready (his dad argues otherwise), but she really doesn't want him to have any freedom.

I've only been waiting for two hours for her to bring him over here, and she hasn't and apparently isn't going to. So, I had to call my mom because we share a car and now I have to go pick him up, which is ridculous because I always pick him up/take him home.

Why did his dad, who's the nice one, have to have a seizure a few months ago? He can't drive for six months now, but he'd probably actually follow through when he says he's going to do something.

This also gives me no hope for her picking me up tomorrow, even though that's been the plan all week.

I also haven't slept yet, so it's probably not helping my mood... but...
