The Marvel Cinematic Universe is just the beginning - talk Marvel on the big screen, small screen and everything in between. DC Cinematic Universe and independent comic creations are welcome, too - The Walking Dead, Preacher, etc.

Singer is officially out of the X-men Franchise. It appears he's taken his writers with him.

Now it's been released that Halle Berry has officially quit X-men as well. - but Apparently she's hoping to do another Catwoman....?:?

Where does this place the X-Franchise? Who will write and direct X3? Should Storm be recast? By who? Is there any chance of anyone else leaving the movies?

What are your thoughts on these developments

I'm sad to see Singer go. I loved his vision of the X Movies. Someone else is no doubt going to be totally different. *sigh* Unless the new director and writers do some research X-3 will not be so welcoming to us X-fans. Perhaps a director that also happens to be a X Fan will do it?

As for Halle Berry, good riddance. I'm sorry but if she thinks the movie should focus soley on her she needs the boot. I have no respect for actors/actresses that have the attitude that they are indispensable. I cannot stomach that. I say replace her. I don't like that either but I'm willing to overlook that than have Halle try to hog all the screen time.

Another Catwoman movie? The one out belongs in the litter box! :ick I've heard nothing but bad reviews on it. But alas it is soley on her. :rolleyes

I'm thinking Whedon, considering the job he's been doing on Astonishing X-men..........

Or maybe Schumacher will come and destroy X-men like he did Batman?

I'm all for Whedon. I love his Astonishing X-Men. But when he's finished with that run what will happen next to Astonishing?

Subsequent Batman movies really went down after the second Batman. I wouldn't mind Tim Burton since this would be a Dark Phoenix story. Well, with the new director god only knows. :shrug

Superman happened. WB made him a good offer, and he had to drop X-men due to time constraints. He's expressed interest in staying on as a producer, but won't be able to write/direct.

Awwww... I liked Brian a lot... :(
I always hate when movies change directors or cast mid-series, because it just totally screws everything to heck.
The style is different, the new people might have different opinions on how the characters should act, but then even if they want to change their personalities, they still have to take the previous movies into consideration. It just sucks all around.
But then, this might be a change for the better. You never know. Now maybe Nighty will show his fun-loving side!!
As for Halle, I have just one smiley for that. :P So long, sucker!!

And here I heard that Halle had actually signed on for X3.... :scratch

Not that I'm exactly heartbroken. Her deplorable demeanor on X2 aside, I always felt that she was miscast for the role, and that Singer brought her on almost solely for the "star power" her name gave. There *must* be other actresses better suited for the role. (The fact I can't name any off the top of my head is hardly surprising: I don't know of all that many people in the world of movies....)

I will definitely miss Bryan. His direction and vision for both movies was nothing short of incredible. But not all franchises have to go out in a flash of garish tackiness when directors change *cough*BatmanandRobin*cough*. The latest Harry Potter was done by a different director, and while it has a different feel to it than the previous two, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I liken it to trying on a new pair of dress shoes. They feel different from the ones you had before, but that doesn't mean they don't fit at all, and that you won't grow to enjoy them.

There are lots of amazing African American actresses who could have played Storm. Angela Basset comes to mind immediately, though she might be a little to old for the role now. And Jada Pinkett-Smith has proven she can play a bad-ass though I think she's a little bit petite for the role of Storm.

Personally, I'd like to see Storm played by someone tall, with presence who actually looks like they're from Africa. Vivica A. Fox comes to mind.

I got to meet one of the X2 writers at Comic Con. He said they were working on the new Superman with Bryan Singer. (Which caused the other guy dressed as Nightcrawler to whip out his head shots from some mysterious place in his costume. How tacky.)

And remember, Bryan Singer became a fan of the XMen comics after he directed the first XMen movie. (Kind of like how I became a fan of the comics after I'd started working on my costume.) It doesn't mean it can't happen again. A new director can come in and get excited about the Xmen all over again.

Wow! Yeah, Vivica would make a good Storm! Wonder why I didn't think of her in the first place... Probably because I've never heard of her. :D But she looks well-suited for the role. ...Actually, I may have seen her in another movie, but if I have I can't remember.... Her face is familiar... Okay, I'll shut up now.

That is some sad news. Well you can't always get whatcha want. The thing I am concerned about is not only the new directing and maybe new cast member(s), it is the makeup artists. Will they have all new ones too, or keep the old one. Will the director want a different look to the characters. For example. What if the tried to give Kurt fur in X3, that would be so weird.

:wolvie=Whoa! What happened to you!
:?= What?
:wolvie=Yer hairier than I am!
:?=What do you mean?
:wolvie= Just last movie you were furless and scarred.

Well, in that case we'd just have everyone simultaniously waking up in Bobby Ewing's shower, realizing that the past two movies were just dreams, and... Dammit! There I go again! :doh!

OH man, if they could get Tim Burton to do it, I would just die of happiness. The first two batman movies, which he directed, were really good. Can't say the same for the subsequent ones, but those weren't his fault.

Okay, I've seen the Batman movies all out of order, so remind me which ones Tim directed? I don't really recognise them by names anyway, I recognise them by the villans in them...

i think i just heard about the new Superman movie,
(is that the one they're planing on making a movie with that guy on Smallville)-but i think Singer do a good job
i wonder if Raimi would do X3

as for the Batman movies directed by Burton-the villians
were the Joker (batman 1), Catwoman & Penguin(batman 2)

I never thought Halle Berry was a good Storm. I always had this tall deep voiced woman in my head. You know like a… well a goddess should look and sound. Halle Berry was just too mousy for me. I am sad to see Singer go but I am sure they will get some one just as good since the X-Men movies are such big money makers.

Tim Burton is the best! That would be a dream come true:love. He always puts tons of effort into each of his film, and works on it till they are just right. He always gets the perfect makeup artists and hire the most awesome musicians for the scoring of his movies. He puts a special touch in each of them, and makes them enjoyable for all to watch.:love

I'm all for Tim!!!
(Keep the clowns away from Tim!):crackass

Vivica A. Fox would make a beautiful Storm!

Here's Tim Burton's Bio, for those who want to know more...or at least some of the works he's done.:bamf

Vivica looks great as Storm! i didn't think on her as a possibility, i was thinking more on this actress, she played Joey's girlfriend during Friends 8th season, she's pretty, but i forgot her name. >_<
Its a shame Brian is not going to be directing the next movie anymore.

Probably a strange comparison...but the third Harry Potter didn't suck after the first two...it had a different look, I actually thought it looked more 'magical' than the first two with all those standing stones and weird little touches...

Yes...Whedon (as long as he doesn't focus on his Astonishing team...not exactly my favourite characters) and Burton (as long as he doesn't latch onto Kurt's circus past...shades of Batman Returns *shudder*) could both do X3 justice...and I too am not sorry to see Berry go...I was always interested to see how well Catwoman did...she's been in some big money making movies, but not one she had to carry on her own before...in a way I hope it falls flat on its face, might just bring her back down to earth...

hmmm...yeah...I see what you're saying about Burton, He hates clowns, maybe he will associate the "circus" with clowns and not over do it? But then again, the circus doesn't need clowns so he could end up doing some fairley good flashback thingies...am I making sense?:?
You would think that the new directors could watch the previous movies billions of time and get the new ones somewhat similar, but they alway come out different, whether they be big changes or small. We will just have to see...in 2006.:X:

All I heard about Catwoman was that it came out pretty bad, the comercials just looked like she was making a movieto show off her...ahem...talent:whistle.

If they would give her an actual PART in the film and give her something to do, even though she is "Old" Angela Basset would make a great Storm...other wise, I think that "Adult" model Amber Easton would make a stunner of a Storm. She is elegant and beautiful with *ahem* more then enough Ass-ets to please the eye candy crowd. I want to post pics but I don't know how and all of the pages that I can link to have bare booby pics...so...go do a google search and see what I mean :D she is pwetty.
