but i don't think it's premature. Chuck has planned up to atleast 425, the wedding issue. when does the Wedding issue come out? summer 2003, same as the movie. if the editors are telling him to make changes to conform to the movie, they are doing it now.

but i don't think they are. i mean Chuck is ditching the priesthood in a little while, and if what we hear of movie Nightcrawler is true, that already goes against the movie... but we may still want to reassure ourselves by making sure

but X-Fan is not loading for me right now so there goes that idea. atleast for right now

One thing I'm thinking...

Maybe we are overreacting just a teensy bit. I mean they didn't mess up Mystique's image in the comics after the first movie, or change Rogue's age.
As well if those scars are supposed to have some significance to Kurt's past, they'd really have to screw around with his history in the comics to make it fit!

I'm just worried from what I've been hearing that's not going to be the case, but man even with the scars it would rock massively if they were making even the fans think he would end up being this brooding character and then he's really like Nighty! Yeah that would rock! If it's true...

they are keeping quiet about that.. they're telling us there will be a wedding, but no hints as to who is getting hitched....

top contenders in my opinion are:

recently back form the 'dead' Havok and Polaris
Archangel and Stacy ( i think they will be really bonding soon)
Northstar and Juggernaut.... naw, just kiddin :p but aparently Black Tom is outa the picture :o he's turned into a swamp thing plant guy of some sort, and he's attacking Juggy and the X-Men and it's up to Nighty and Iceman to save them. I love Chuck Austen, he's turned Nighty into a major player after jsut 2 issues. he's getting so much panel time... and he's funny!! (if a bit cheezy, but hey, he's out of practice)

I"m just really hoping that they're gonna play Nightcrawler up as an angsty broody guy for the trailers, but pull the 'ol switcheroo and make him the fun-loving smart ass we all know and love.

There better be some good one-liners coming from him.

I'm hoping for the switcheroo too, Booker. And, honestly, I tend to think that with Alan Cumming in the role, they will make him more than a one-note character. The scar thing just set off my warning bells.

I still don't think it's a good idea, unless they have a REALLY good explanation for it. Granted, making Mystique scaly had no impact on her character, but if they're already playing this scar thing up as part of his origin.

I dunno... I just have a bad feeling about this... to quote another movie :p

I don't mind the scars. As long as Nighty is in the movie, I will be thrilled. And those who ask me how I can be a fan of such a (fillin blank) will be tied down and made to read every single comic I have in which he appears until they see the light!

I vote for the switcheroo too! And I agree that with Alan Cumming in the role, Kurt will probably have a substantial role in the movie...just hoping that it's done properly.

Actually...I think the reason Mystique was made scaly was because Brian thought non-comic people would have a hard time with the shape-shifting bit effecting her clothes, so that's why she's not wearing any...and, well, Rebecca couldn't run around bare-butt naked (though some fan boys would've loved that)...so she got scales to cover her naughty bits!

Ok I haven't really been following Uncanny that hard. Only been reading it regularly recently when Night got more into focus. Now did I TOTALLY miss something with Juggernaut and his um.. heh, preferences? I mean they had some line in the comic and I was like "What in the hell?"

*winces* actually i hate to be a party pooper but **puts on her continuity hat** Nightcrawler already *has* scars from his injuries in the morlock massacre, i mean they never really went into detail re: his injuries so far as i know but that sorta thing would scar **takes off hat**

hey wait just one cotton pickin minute! that means any kinda scarring would be hidden by the fur! if they "give him scars" over at marvel we can bug them into hiding 'em under the fur, he could look "bushy" for an ish or two, shed and surprise! no more scars!!

I know! I imagine the fur around his face would be more fine I guess you could say, and therefore scars more noticeable. Also depending on the size of the scars and other factors, the fur may grow oddly around them also making them more noticeable.

Yep, scars from Riptide. I even put that in a fic I wrote. But, unless I'm the one on the crack rock, I think these movie scars are intentional scarring. They're some kind of funky ritual scars, not from injuries.

THAT'S why I think it's goofy.
