So, anybody else seen the Avengers yet?

I don't want to spoil for anybody, but it was FANTASTIC. I loved it to pieces, but I seriously need somebody to discuss it with!

I've seen it three times and it's still as awesome the third time.

Definitely! It was absolutely amazing; brilliantly put together, very well done with characters and conflicting ideals...

I feel Ruffalo's comments to Craig Ferguson saying that he was worried the movie wouldn't do well with the people looking for "slugfests" because it was in fact a developmental story... were completely true.

And I loved it for that.

is it me or was Hulk actually the most interesting/awesome character in that movie? Like... what the hell? Where did that come from?

I quite liked the development that all the characters got, however little some might have gotten. And as much as I'm always going to be biased towards Loki and Hawkeye, Hulk was one of the best things. So many people I know were surprised they'd liked him. Best Hulk.

Yeah, he was definitely one of the best characters in that movie! I was never interested AT ALL in the Hulk, but now I really want to learn more about him! The movie did a wonderful job with characterization, and I can't wait to see how the relationships they've built on in this movie end up growing and playing out over the course of the next few films...

Just saw it. OMFG! They did an amazingly awesome job! Go Joss Whedon, because he knocked it out of the fucking park!

And yes, that was the best onscreen Hulk ever! And they all got quality time. It really was developmental, and took everything just seriously enough while still throwing in the humor and the comic geek moments. Absolutely loved it!

But I really must get Loki's flat iron. I'm jealous of his flip.

I have to admit that I'm currently worried about the new Batman movie coming out this summer, because it's either going to blow the Avengers out of the water and become the most amazing movie ever made of all time, or it will fall completely flat and let everyone down.

That's how amazing Avengers was.

The Avengers movie was like a pizza of awesome with nifty sauce and a side-order of I-wanna-see-it-again-bread (but I think i'll get it on DVD when it comes out again... I'm trying to cut the calories :P)

Seriously though the movie was awesome, I really enjoyed the humour, the action, and the actors were well chosen and obviously were having a lot of fun.

Also on a random note: while Captain America is definitely gorgeous I'm slightly perturbed that I'm finding Loki ... curiously interesting... in a David Bowie in tights kind of way :shocked :LOL

I don't think Batman is going to top the weekend-record that Avengers made.

DKR will surely blow opening NIGHT out of the water, but opening weekend? No way. It doesn't have high re-watch value. And more importantly, it's not as friendly for the younger kids. Not that The Avengers was great for the tots, but you could probably bring a 10-13 year old kid (maybe 9?) and it would be fine. But The Dark Knight Rises is way too dark & violent for kids that age, and after the last 2 the parents have learned this.

That's why I agree with Robert Downey Jr. when he said (about The Dark Knight) [PARAPHRASING HERE]
"I'm sure the movie is great, but it's not fun. These movies shouldn't take themselves so seriously."

It's so true.
