The Uncanny Dave Cockrum Hardcover

Aardwolf Publishing will release The Uncanny Dave Cockrum Hardcover in February, 2007. This beautiful, prestige edition will include all of the articles and art tributes originally collected in the now-sold-out Uncanny Dave Cockrum Tribute (2004) but completely overhauled. In addition, new artists and artists are still being added to the project (the most recent ones are George Perez, Billy Tucci and Tom Spurgeon) along with more than 20 pages of never-before-seen Dave Cockrum art.

Participants on the project now include: Neal Adams, Sergio Aragones, Dick Ayers, Mark Bagley, Al Bigley, Jon Bogdanove, Randy Bowen, John Cassaday, Travis Charist, Chris Claremont, Gene Colan, Darwyn Cooke, Peter David, Alan Davis, Mike Deodato, Diane Duane, Will Eisner, Harlan Ellison, Mark Evanier, Gary Frank, Neil Gaiman, Jose Garcia Lopez, Dave Gibbons, Mike Grell, Tony Isabella, Michael Kaluta, Rafael Kayanan, Joe Kubert, Jim Lee, Stan Lee, Bill Messner-Loebs, Steve Lieber, Pablo Marcos, David Mazzucchelli, Bob McLeod, Steve McNiven, Clifford Meth, Alan Moore, Todd Nauck, Michael Netzer, Jerry Ordway, Tom Palmer, George Perez, Sean Phillips, Joe Quesada, Robin Riggs, John Romita Sr., Joe Rubinstein, Marie Severin, Dave Sim, Walter and Louise Simonson, Tom Spurgeon, Joe Staton, Ben Templesmith, Roy Thomas, Herb Trimpe, Billy Tucci, Jim Valentino, Len Wein, and Marv Wolfman.

“Dave and Paty were looking forward to this book coming out in February and we’re sticking to our commitment,” said Clifford Meth, editor of the collection. “I’m sorry Dave won’t get to hold the final product in his hands but his family will.”

“Dave Cockrum was the best friend Aardwolf ever had,” said Jim Reeber, Aardwolf Publishing’s president and publisher. “When we launched the company in 1994, we never could have done it without Dave. We were proud to publish his Futurians and to work closely with Dave for the last dozen years.”

226 special editions will include unique, ORIGINAL Dave Cockrum drawings bound into the book. These drawings were prepared especially for this project and took Dave Cockrum nearly a year to complete.

This book is being published in cooperation with the Dave Cockrum Estate.

Dave Cockrum passed away on November 26, 2006, at the age of 63.

I urge everyone to buy this directly from AardwolfPublishing.com -- don't wait for bookshops to have it. You want the maximum profits to go to Paty.
