Has Wolverine ever "predicted" where Kurt will be after a po

Post by Born Blue »

I've seen a lot of people 'claim' Wolverine has predicted or moved so fast that he tagged Kurt as soon as Kurt reappeared after a port, but I've seen very little hard evidence. So I wanna hear it from the people who's actually been following Kurt's career. Has Wolverine ever tagged Kurt after coming out of a random port in a fighting situation? I've seen Wolverine do it once while Nightcrawler was playing around and not trying to harm Wolverine, but not in an all out fight.

Cyclops and Rogue have managed to nail him coming out of a 'port...

With Cyclops it was dumb luck...Kust 'ported, and Cyc racked the ceiling with his optic blast knowing Kurt likes to attack from above...

Rogue got him by being forced (by him through a tickling test) into using Ms Marvel's precog power...

Members of the Brotherhood have done it by being told where to strike by Destiny...

So...if anybody without precog power have done it...it's just been through the old adage "know youe enemy"...even Wolvie...

I think Wolvie uses his hypersenses, he smells the brimstone and can probably make a pretty good prediction.

I'm with you on that. Logan and Kurt know very well the way each other fights. Logan could certainly "predict" where Kurt will port to.

Yeah he could probably tell right when the wormhole or whatever opens up just before Kurt passes through.

Maybe, but by the time he smells/hears where the wormhole opens, Kurt's already there.

Wolvie doesn't have superspeed (yet).

While Wolverine doesn't have "super speed," he has performed some pretty incredible feats which would place him far above any human.

Heheh ... Garble's probably referring to the fact that Wolverine seems to be capable of more and more, as editors seem to want to give as much glory as possible to the "kewl"est character - frequently to the diminishment of other characters. No, the only way Logan would be able to predict where Kurt teleports to is simply his knowledge of Kurt's fighting tactics. That would allow him to hazard a pretty good guess at best.

That's true. I wasn't thinking about that. Well actually I was but I just decided to say anyhow. I've been really stupid about stuff like that (not to mention everything else) lately.:shame:

:naughty:

Well in an issue of a Wolverine Annual ( not too sure which number it was)
where some Evil Demons were attacking the X-Men, Kurt ( this was when he was still in Excalibur) was visiting the X-Mansion and happen to stumble in on a fight between Wolvie and the Aliens.....

Not too sure of the story line, but there was a coupla panels where they showed Logan predicting Nighty's port and nearly skerwing him......

Well, I would think it is something more telepaths and precogs can do. Spider-Man should be able to.

But also Wolvie has a wee bit of experience fighting, and just with that, it should give him a bit of an edge in predicting where.

That's one thing. Wolvie knows Nighty really well, and I'm sure there must be patterns to his ports, so Logan could maybe determine where he'll be from just figuring where he usually shows up.

Magneto has done it at least once. If memory serves, it was in X-Men #104. As soon as Kurt decided on a destination and initiated the 'port, Mags sensed the disturbances in local magnetic fields and was able to clobber him immediately as he materialized.

No surprise there. Mags could sense the magnetic disturbances of a housefly!

Poor Nighty in that!:bawl:

I seem to remember TOAD doing it once

to be fair, Fuzzy was weak from 'porting, and Toad had been schooled by Prof X on fighting the X-men.

All the Brotherhood were doing well, and the X-men got caught flat-footed.

Still, I think Toad got lucky...

& it wasn't so much he knew where, as he guessed Kurt would 'port behind him...

I dunno. I read it a while ago.
