We haven't been told it's not Age of Apocalypse ... I'm willing to believe it is if they're intro'ing Gambit as a main character!

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2014/04/11/ ... an-singer/ Somewhat meaning it isn't going to be Kurt Darkholme nor will he lose the accent. Also even if it was based on it, they deviated a lot for Days of Future Past.

It's going to have to be an alternate reality...unless Kurt doesn't interact with any if the other characters or Charles removes all memory of him from their minds in order for them to not remember him in X2.

The beauty of making Days of Future Past is that the events of subsequent films in the timeline do not have bearing on future films. It's like rebooting the whole thing, without actually rebooting. Brilliant really... Yeah, X2 happened. However, now we get to see the new timeline spawning from the new past events, which may be different. Mind. BLOWN.

They have stated that the Timeline has been altered so anything that happens after Days of Future Past doesn't matter because that's a new timeline from the 70s onwards.

Brilliant? Maybe, I haven't seen it yet.

Original? Not in the least. J.J. Abrams did it first. Singer even credited the Star Trek reboot as the source for his idea. It's the safest way to reboot a sci-fi franchise like this.

Haven't read that...

Maybe Kurt will ditch the scars, the overly religiousness and be played by a more suitably physically appearing actor as well.

Oh I agree but firstly we need to all join our power rings in hopes that he's actually going to be in a movie again.

Fox seems to want to forget all about him and will probably put some mutant no one really cares for in his place.

That's sorta been the plan the whole time, actually. From what I'm hearing, the new film resets a lot. Gonna see it Tuesday.

Hopefully this will make room for a Kurt Wagner who, like you said, isn't religiously hellbent and not covered in scars representing "his sins,"... in the pattern of gaelic symbols and patterns of all things. Weird.

Well...technically nothing that happened after this movie would have happened. So he'll never have tried to assassinate the president so he won't be a wanted man :D
