I will play with what I have, but fuzzy face seems unlikely. Planning making the first shoe covering this next week (even though classes are getting hectic...) so wish me luck...

UPDATE: I bought "opaque" tights on eBay, only to find out they are see-through. So I am replacing them with under armour leggings... also I discovered sewing spandex (sewing in general actually) is much harder than anticipated. Right now I am sewing the blue felt into the tail and it's looking great so far. I will post pictures once it is finished.

I didn't get the feet btw. I need more practice with scissors and thread if I want it to look decent. A lot more if I want it to look right.

Kinda disappointed no one has seen the work I did on the tail...

I got my bottoms, and I start the feet soon. It's nerve racking, because the material is expensive and I don't wanna screw it up...

Was there a delay in the post with the pics showing up? That or my talent for missing things kicked into high gear. Anyhoo, I think it's nifty! Is it heavy?

I had to add them later; there was a hiccup on the picture situation.

And It is quite light, less than 3 lbs (~1 kg). Designed with the lightest materials to ensure I'm comfortable all day long...

That tail is awesome, Bob!

Keep it up! I can't wait to see the final product! What're you doing for contacts again?

I wish there was a whole eye contact I could use, but since there isn't, I am having to settle for bright yelow contacts. It was one of the things I didn't like about movie 'crawler, but I don't see a workable alternative...

Are you ordering lenses? If so: http://02a5349.netsolstores.com/yellowsclera.aspx

That's the best I could hunt down quickly. The pupil is visible, but everything else I saw was also translucent over the iris. Without "sclera" in the search, sites with more than just the black full-eye lenses don't come up much.

Those are so awesome!! But one of those contacts costs over my whole costume budget... I have found some really nice perscription ones for like $20/pair.

Have you thought as far as finger nails yet, or are you not worried about that?

And yeah I like the contacts as well.

I am doing classic costume, so I am not going to worry about nails since I will be wearing gloves. Do you think I need some sort of insert to make it look more realistic?

I would say you put the effort *YOU* feel is necessary. So far, from what I've seen, you're putting together an incredible cosplay.

If you wanted to do nails, I'd say fake ones that have been filed unevenly (to appear used/like they've seen battle) and maybe inserting/gluing them to the gloves.
But that's if you wanted to.

Yeah, those contacts are quite expensive. I saw some of the translucent kind running around $400. :stunned
If you don't plan on making a habit of wearing them, going for the cheap ones, while they may not look ideal, is much more sensible.

I wouldn't do fingernail inserts in the gloves. Real fabric tends not to look quite so painted on as the costumes in comics. Even opaque chiffon probably wouldn't reveal much, if any, definition around nail beds. Making that definition show through would probably look a little too unrealistic.

The only thing I'd experiment with, if I were you, is something to even out the lengths of your paired fingers inside the gloves to give the appearance of a single finger rather than two taped together. Maybe some kind of padding?

I have considered padding in the fingers. I just don't want it to look all fake/ cartoony. Started the hands tonight, so we will see...

I know you're on a budget. I have a solution but it's pricey. I love XtremeDesignFX, they're one of the BEST superhero costume go-to guys. They make an actual Nightcrawler glove that fits snug and looks REAL. It's $100 though. The one pictured isn't the only color--you can also request it in all white and tell them you want it near elbow length:

that looks so good... but you are right, my budget is slim. I am almost done with the first glove now, so I can show you once it is done...

Finished my first glove tonight. A couple of areas need reinforced, but I added something to the ends of the fingers that even them out. A bit primative, but I think great for what I need... Simple... cheap... Pictures coming in a couple days. Not going to double post, so check back for my edit...

This is the cheap and easy finger solution. Foam rubber cut to fill the void. Needs to be painted white though...
