What color should Nightcrawler's porting be?

I know it's kind of a silly question, but what color do you think Nightcrawler's teleporting cloud be? I have seen it done in so many different ways, and lately they seem to be making it pink. Was just curious what any of you may think?

I quite like the Ultimate Nigtcrawler's yellow swirling smoke but I must admit...I am in favour of the old original

The smoke and brimstone effect is just the atmosohere from the Darkforce Dimension reacting with Earths atmosphere when the portal opens...I am a bit confused as to why the colour should change...Artistic licence?:P

In the movie, I'd actually prefer grey/black smoke to colored smoke. Colored smoke tends to look... fake.

Since "brimstone" is sulfur it might make sense for it to be yellow.

I've always prefered the classic purple/magenta smoke.

Oh yes. I never thought about what it may look like in the movie. I hope they do a good job of it and not make it look cheesy or anything. I wonder if they'll keep the brimstone stench as well?

I love the purple one, but i if i should choose a color i would choose blue, according to his skin.

I hope they go with purple smoke in the movie. I am a sucker for the original. Yellow smoke would make sence but in real life it would just look nasty. Burning smoke would be cool but wouldn't he singe his tail? Blue...like a steel greyish blue would be excellent! Very mysterious.

It certainly doesn't need to be a bright fakey color in the movie. I say yellow if they keep the brimstone smell or dark purple to black. Those would look cool, plus I think it would be visually cool to have some sort of light effect like sparks or a starburst effect.

i like purply/black, myself. not quite 'real' but not so far fetched as to look completley fake, either... and yeah Slarti, some stuff at the center like sparks or a burst of flame or somehting would be cool.

i do like the spiraly vortex shape in Ultimate, tho. it LOOKS like a portal to another dimension.

I agree about the swirly spiral vortex Ultimate 'port signature...but I don't think that they could pull it off on screen...

They could pull it off, more than likely, but it would cost so much for the animation that he would only be able to do it once.

That wouldn't be cool.

(little off topic here) do any pf you know how hard it is to animate a 'port!?

Anywho, I think that on the movie it's gunna look like an explosion, it's just easiar t do it that way.

And, it may not have a damn thing to do with anything, but in X-Men: Next Dimension Kurt's 'port cloud is dark purple with black around the edges. Hopefully a tidbit that moviemakers dropped to the gamemakers. (The 'ports in Mutant Academy 2 were purple/pink)

Yeah...I like the golden swirly vortex of Ultimate Kurt...not that I don't like the pinkish/black smokey thing of traditional Kurt...the golden one just makes more sense to me, as per the arguments above...the sulpha connection...the fact that it looks like a hole in the space/time continuum that he's just come through...

But then, I guess there's something to be said of Evo Kurt's nice little understated one too...not so flashy and noticable in the dark recesses of church when you're on the run...
