from a purely visual standpoint i liked

: just the contrast of the blond hair agianst the blue skin looked cool. but after a couple issues of him being back to

Paty - the reason we are debating it is because a couple issues ago, his blue skin turned white again... a lot of people don't like it and think he should have stayed blue :p

I thought the blue was cool when he had the metal wings. I never much saw the point of returning his feathered wings but keeping him blue.

Apocalyps is blue as well.
Dark Beast is blue or grey, depending on the colorist.
There's tons of them outside the x-universe as well...

Waaay back in X-Factor, during the Mutant Massacre, Warren was trapped in the Morlock tunnels and attacked by the Marauders. His wings were destroyed by Harpoon, and they had to be amputated. When Warren regained consciousness in the hospital and found out his wings were gone he wigged a bit, to put it mildly.

The X-Men watched in horror as he took off in his private jet, which promply exploded. Everyone thought he had committed suicide. It was a very touching issue. I cried. *sniff*

But in actuality he had been abducted by Apocalypse, who offered him flight again. He gave Warren the metal wings, the blue skin and a nasty attitude. He became Death of the Four Horsemen, long before Wolverine ever did. He almost slaughtered the X-Men.

Eventually Warren returned to the good side and changed his codename to Archangel. For years he was impredictible and psycho. Eventually, he was injured again ... I forget by whom.... and his metal wings fell off, with his feathered wings underneath! They grew back, but the blue stayed.

See, Warren's cooler than ya think, if you know his back history. He's one of my favorites, and he was my favorite above Nighty for a while.

And I think I prefer blue, though I'm happy he's back to being Angel.
