I've been hearing about this via Neil Gaiman's blog, but I don't follow the news sites anymore, so that's my only source of info on it. but it intrigues me, i'd like to know more, if anyone has any info. Basically, from what Neil says, Lost Girls is a GN by Alan Moore, about Alice from Alice in Wonderland, Dorothy from Wizard of Oz, and Wendy form Peter Pan meeting and talking and sharing stories with a decidedly... erotic slant. There is some controversey, becuase the copyright holders of Peter Pan are upset about the portrayal of Wendy, becuase she has sex. does anyone know more? I think my curiosity may get the better of me and I wil pick this one up

This one ... there's plenty of info on this at Newsarama (three interviews at least, one with Moore, one with the artist Melinda something, and one with the publisher).
Now, this is one I'm not sure if I'll pick up. I applaud the fact that it's being published, especially the idea behind it. Moore said something to the effect of - there are only two ways to talk sex in America; very clinical and boring or sleazy and gross. Why not have pornography that is also art? Good sentiment!
There is, however, the matter of content. From what I've read, it will include scenes of explicit sex featuring children with other children, with adults, and with creatures both real and mythological. Now, I understand fully that these are depictions of children having sex and no actual child was hurt or exploited to create this. I also would never blame this book for turning someone into a child molester. It is something I have no interest in seeing personally, though I may end up getting it anyway. We'll have to see.
One thing that is for certain ... someone is going to be arrested for selling this. Not to a child - no one is going to sell a $75 hard cover sealed in a slipcase clearly marked MATURE READERS ONLY book to a child (or at least they shouldn't) - but in violation of some community/city/state law against this sort of obscenity. The CBLDF will be drawn into this, and the media will flock to this case in the exact way it hasn't for the current Gordon Lee scandal.
I hope it does well. I just don't know if I'll be getting a copy or not.

Oh wow, they're reprinting that? I can't remember where I heard about this before, I think it was an essay written by the artist in some feminist book. I thoght "ooooh!" and immediately forgot all about it.
I don't know if I'd buy it. I'd want to at least flip through it first (but since it will be sold sealed, never mind)... I don't know. While I'm all over the explicit subject matter thing, I'm not so much into explicit stuff featuring children. It's probably super creepy. And not very arousing. Dammit.
It's on sale at Amazon.com... less than $50!

Lol, so I finally read this. My impressions? Really interesting concept, but at times it seemed a bit needlessly gratuitous. But still quite good!!
