Game Notice: Hydra

Post by Slarti »

As of the Saturday game, several students are missing and were presumed dead. These are (paired off into cells and one three-way :naughty):

Alison Blaire
Melati Kusuma

Jonathon Ohmn
David Poole

Noriko Ashida
Callie Betto

Jimmy Killer
Jonas Greymalkin
Cormick Grimshaw

Julian Keller is mysteriously not interred with the others... hmm.

Jessica Drew went missing about a week earlier.

For those of you who've been kidnapped:

On Tuesday, October 18th, otherwise known as Saturday, July 13th. These events take place before the game, so feel free to reference them during/after your stay with Hydra.

While responding to an emergency call from Jessica Drew, a malfunction occurred, due to a device Julian Keller planted, and the jet went down in the middle of Lowtown, an impoverished, crime-ridden district on the island of Madripoor. Under the watchful eye of Viper, Hydra agents descended on the wreckage and managed to sedate you.

Upon waking up in a spotless, slightly humid, white room on a stainless steel cot, you may find various Hydra personnel hovering outside your door, peering in at you through the window in your door as they jot down notes. Despite the cramped living conditions, there's a bright side in the fact you'll be well-fed.

Oh, and enjoy the appointments to turn you into a giant insect with Dr. Rott!

Feel free to hit Freja and Star (Viper and Dr Rott) up for instances!

Have fun!

For those that have been and those that will soon be experimented on, here's what you can expect.

Your character will become photosensitive as the bugs prefer the dark. The lights will gradually be dimmed. At the same time the room will become warmer and more humid to facilitate the change of form.

Food rations will increase to keep up with the increased demand for calories, though they will become mainly meat and may not always be cooked. Your character's appetite will also increase.

Viper and her scientists will perform regular check-ups until the point when the changes begin to become more visible so feel free to reference her peering in at you from time to time and taking notes. Possibly informing your characters that they are looking fantastic and should be pleased with their new roles in her organisation.

As the physical changes start to occur, their skin will start to produce a form of mucus to help form the scales underneath and they will enter a kind of cocoon or pupa until they are ready to emerge. They should probably make the most of that time to nap.

Enjoy being traumatised!

By the Saturday game, which falls on Nov. 3, 2016 in game canon, all of you who were kidnapped by Hydra should have seen Dr. Rott and be into their brood transitions. If you didn't get the chance to play or write out the implantation of the brood eggs, you can just imply it was done.

The newly-transformed Brood will get its first public exercise in the July 27 game, and if your character is a brood, you can play this new buggy incarnation of your character in that game, and from here until the end of the plot.

Now, for a few pointers on playing a brood:

- You can't really talk or effectively communicate with non-brood... though you may hiss a few words here and there. Think of ways to communicate non-verbally.

- You retain your mutant powers, though they can be subtly altered if you like for variety. Additionally, you're now essentially a giant mutant bug. You can fly, scuttle across the ceiling, and generally be a bug!

- Your character's rational human mind has been overwritten by the hive-mind mentality of an insect swarm. You can have occasional flashes of self-awareness of the horrible situation you're in, or very brief recognition of people or places.

- Dr. Rott and Viper have been subjecting you to conditioning training, likely aided by some hefty experimental drugs, and they have used Jessica Drew and her pheromones to attempt to control your actions.

Additionally, a couple of brood can be captured by the X-Men by the end of the game and taken back to the mansion for proddings from the school doctors. If you're interested, let us know if there are still openings for this.
