Hi all,
As an art collector (and a great fan of Dave's) who's
interested in collecting "Who's who" types of(published)
images, I've lately come to notice the existence of the
"DC HEROES" line of source-books and role-playing books.
I was wondering if Dave took part in illustrating any
of those books ? books like BATMAN: SOURCEBOOK,
SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL SOURCEBOOK, JLA Soucrcebook, Mayfair's "Who's Who" books (NOT
the DC series') and the rest of the "DC HEROES"
role-playing line ?
Also, do any of you know if there's some kind of checklist
or search engine, which could help me gather a list of the
artist's who took part in those books (and their related pieces) ? the GCD doesn't include those things.
Thanks,
Gal

Cockrum's art in "DC HEROES" sourcebooks ?
Sorry, to the best of my knowledge, I had no part in any of those sourcebooks. I did do a few entries in DC's Who's Who--Captain Marvel Jr., the Blackhawks (a 3-pager), the Fadeaway Man, and I think, a Legionnaire or two.
Don't know about any search engines. Sorry.

Thanks for the quick reply Dave !
I was also wondering about your trading card artwork for DC.
I know that you did a "StarBreaker" card, though I couldn't locate
the actual card nor a scan or the owner of the art.
Can you recall other DC trading cards that you illustrated ?
I really want to add a new piece to my collection,
and maybe now I'll know what to look for.

Sorry. I'm not even sure if I ever got that art back.

That's a shame.
It sounds almost criminal to not return the art to an
artist at your stature (or any artist for that matter).
I sure hope the art does turn up eventually, and if it does
(and if you decide to sell it), I'd like to ask "1ST DIBS" on it.
Thanks,
Gal
