So New52 is bad and DC should feel bad.

Every week there seems to be CBR and Newsarama articles going on and on about how they wish Wally, Steph, & others were part of the new continuity in the DC now being ridiculed & rebranded as the Not-So-New-52 by various online readers.

The short version of this story is in 2011 they rebooted their titles in hopes to get new readers and new ways to write stories. For the most part it worked, for like 6-8 months. They had some original ideas in their titles, they pushed B-list or lower class characters, sold some titles no one thought would've sold, and made some really unique and fun changes.

Then the misogynistic crap happened with Harley's cover challenge to artistic fans, the egregious changes made towards Starfire's character and the ridiculous variant cover of steampunk Wonder Woman making Steampunk Clark Kent carry her bags around while she shops -- thus proving how idiotic their new relationship is caught fire on the interwebs. Add the brutal murder of Batman's 11 year old son who was Robin, Damian Wayne, by Grant Morrison -- plus the outrageous creators dropping like flies off titles for ethical reasons or otherwise or being re-arranged to others, some times before a story is wrapped, or before they themselves get under way -- and you have a chemical equation for bad comic franchise.

DC is preparing a move to the west coast which has already cost them Mike Marts... which is great for Marvel fans as he was just picked up as the new X-Editor and Lowe was re-assigned to Spider-Titles, so that should make up for some communication errors with the executive branch of the company -- but I worry about east coast writers and con-trippers such as Greg Pak, Gail Simone, & others who have made east coast life try to work and now are being told their company (job and income) are moving back to the west.

Now the Super books are suddenly re-writing the greatest character death of all time and then re-vamping the Justice League titles with Superman no longer on the team.

Ouch.

What are your thoughts on DC? Are you guys hip to how these cats are swinging? Do you have a different view from my criticisms?

The New 52 is way more confusing to me than the old continuity.

I don't really care anymore I only buy Action Comics from them, and I plan on checking out the new Teen TItans relaunch and possibly getting Aquaman in Trade.

Scott Snyder's Batman is great but again I'm waiting for that in trade.

I really do not like a lot of the changes made I mean you've mentioned a lot of the ones already but I dislike the changing of Cyborg Superman's identity from Hank Henshaw DC's equivalent of Reed RIchards into Zor-El it adds to the amount of living Kryptonians and makes the whole character of Cyborg Superman far less interesting so what he's just a Kryptonian with Cybernetic attachments and just happens to look like his Nephew? Compare that to a Scientist whose life went terribly wrong causing him to go insane as well as develop powers to Rival Supermans yeah Robo Zor-El just isn't as interesting.

I also don't like the fact that instead of creating an all new character as Flash's Nephew they just introduce a Wally West who has nothing in common with the previous Wally West all that does is annoy the fans of that character.

Oh and Skinny Waller is a load of crap too, the stupid reasoning behind "It's more realistic for her to be slim and agile" That's such a stupid idea because what made Amanda Waller interesting was that you didn't expect someone like her to be pulling all the strings. And why would things need to realistic in a FICTIONAL UNIVERSE WHERE A GUY CAN USE A RING TO MAKE ANYTHING HE WANTS.

There's a lot more I do not like about the New 52 but I don't want to go on too much.

:bamf

I'm perfectly fine with an unrelated, mixed-race Wally West. That's fine. But he's running around in a blue suit and the preview panels I've seen have him acting SUPRSRSBIZNIS like the rest of the crap-chute, re-modeled, New 52 characters. I'm awful tired of "dark for the sake of dark." And DC is crammed with that crap lately!

I guess, I just think they should have gone down the Miles Morales route and made a completely new character that wasn't a stereotypical teenager "Sticking it to the man" and all that.

Oh yeah the Creeper was made into some stupid villain despite the fact he's supposed to just look evil yet be good, his new design is craptastic too.

Also where the hell is Aqualad? You'd think after the Young Justice cartoon they would have reintroduced him.

And yes DC's dark and gritty theme is just getting so tired now.

I like a lot of the New 52 as in the Red Lanterns, JL, Superman/Wonderwoman, Superman/Batman, Wonderwomen and I will be getting her 2nd book coming out soon. No, not all of the new 52 is good like the new Lobo, skinny Amanda Waller as well as some other stuff, but lets not pretend that all the pre-52 was gold or that the other companies don't make bad choices too. Do I need to mention what Cornwell has done to Wolverine or that peace of shit that Hickmam wrote called infinity or what ever.
We all like different things for example I like Superman and Wonderwoman as a coupl, so just because there are some loud cry babies out on the web trying to proclaim that there opinions are facts dose in no way make it true.

Look man, I was stating opinion (pretty clear I made that point), and was trying to stir conversation... Your opinion is just as valid as mine. What I was not trying to do was start beef. I see you've gotten rather hostile towards a couple of my posts. Apologies if I come off antagonistic, but perhaps using "crybabies" and dropping curses like a middle-class college grad drops Hamilton's isn't the way to go about establishing likable cred when you're new to a forum.
While I am no mod (anymore), I will say with at least my posts? Image

Oh man, Fuzz, I couldn't agree more. Why not just let a character BE, y'know?

I gotta say though, I really am loving this redesign of Batgirl and it's sorta sad but as much as I loathed that book after 9 issues, I actually considered picking it up now just because of that art-change. That redesign is so much more believable, the style is fresh, fun, approachable - and like I mentioned in my original post; that "Image" and "Creator Owned" sensibility is really poking through in Marvel. 'Bout time it started coming out in DC books.

Look guy I am not trying to start a fight it simply looked like a hole lot of new 52 hate going on and I simply wanted to put my positive 2 cents in. I like to swear if you would like to judge me by that it is your choice.
Now I was just trying to say that the new52 is not as bad as some people say and certainly no worse than any other company out there I buy more DC now than I did before so I think that that is a good thing.

And BTW I am not really new hear this is a new name Though because my I could not get on with my old name so I made a new one. You might be right maybe I am just argumentative as I recall people fought with me a lot on my old name too. If you would like to read stuff from my old name it was SmoothBamf.
