Oh, my god! Gambit was a total knock out in that episode! He showed the Brotherhood what's what and he has the right to call them flunkies. Geeze, no wander why they got expelled, they are flunkies!
X-Men Evolution just keeps getting better and better.

Woder what's happening with Evan?

What's happening to him was a similar experiance Jean Grey's going throgh. During one episode, Jean Grey lost total control of her telepathy and telekenesis, because her body is growing as she gets older. Evan is going through the same process, that's why he couldn't control his spikes.
The Stuff of Villains
I guessed that, but I mean what WILL happen. This non-controlling thing can't be all. Something else might happen, and it might happen to some of the others, too...

Never even thought of that Anyways, I've noticed a lot lately that Nightcrawler is getting more beefy in Evolution. In the beginning, well, he was rather skinny and I've noticed that he's got, well, butched.
The Stuff of Villains
He is eating a lot of burgers and doing the superhero thing...

It has been postulated...and it is a credible theory...that to be able to weild powers of any kind, one must fuel the body that has to expend energy to weild the powers or channel the energy. You do not get something for nothing. the use of powers...whether tit is creating energy or channelling energy or morphing or bamfing or whatever, requires a tremendous expenditure of energy. Casting a spell, if done properly, for a witch is exhausting work. The same for teleporting, or channelling the electromagnetic field of the earth...tremendous expenditure of physicalenergy.
You gotta keep the ol bod in shape...you gotta EAT like it is going outta style in the next moment! If you are starved, you cannot use powers even if they are developed...and if they havent developed yet, their developmehnt will be relegated to later by a body that needs all the available energy it can get just to survive...which is what probably happened to Magneto in Auschwitz. No food, no energy...no power until he got out into the real world and began to earn a living for himself and Magda, feed himself properly and VOILA! The power that should have manefested in puberty, now manefests later in life when his body energy and physical stamina can support it.
The more one uses a power, the better one's body has to be "in shape" to support that energy usage.
Then again...it could just be different art styles or a different artist. Each artist has his own take on the look of a character. Jim Lee's Mags was hugely muscled...Dave's not as much but still yummy...there was a artist ...and I don't remember who...who did the New Mutants many years ago...late eighties, I think...who drew Mags as this scrawney old man...not good...sigh... Spidey has gone through similar changes. And Nightcrawler...and a number of different characters. not just costume changes...but bodily makeovers...some work...some don't

It's for the same reason that Spyke is always drinking Milk in Evolution- to build up the calcium to make his bone spikes. (It also sends a message to all thos little kids watching evolution- drink milk and you can be cool like a certain wannabe x-man!)Originally posted by Paty
