New X-Men - 132...

lookie lookeis, Marvel posted a new wallpaper (in the dotcomics section, strangely enough) i THINK it is from New X-Men #132... there is in addition to Jean and Cyke, Storm, Thunderbird III (gag) Quicksilver, Sabra, and Polaris who is in a New uniform!

It is Magneto's helmet...sorta. According to one o the preview images (maybe the actual cover?) the people of Genosha (or at least the mutants) are building this big shrine/monument to Magneto, and that's part of it in the backround.

this looks to much like Unus, but, Unus supposedly is dead. I'm almost willing to bet money on Unus, yet, he is dead. okay, this is really strange. IS grant doing the best of research, cause this guy was around since the 8th issue of X-Men. But, would Grant look for if he is dead?

I'm not totally sure, but I heard somewhere that Phil Jiminiez was doing another cover for 132. And that might be it. Yeah, I think it is.

I mean, they were all seen in the preview pages. So, it is plausible, but I can't find the stupid li'l signature thingie.

yeah it's supposed to be Thunderbird... but he and Storm are only there temporarily. i am not sure about Polaris

and this is really confusing with Unus/Magneto! :

-both are presumed dead right now
-take off Mags' cape and helmet and they have remarkably similar costumes
-both can create a forcefield - the forcefield IS Unus' power, and Mags can create one with his control over magnetism.

point in favour of Mags - Quicksilver says 'Do I know you...?' has Quicksilver ever met Unus? i don't think so... but he sure as hell has met Magneto.

Polaris I think is rumoured to be in New. Can't remember for sure. But, I think she is joining that team, while Havok stays in Uncanny.

well... that was good best issue of New i've read in a while. i was dissapointed it wasn't longer, but other than that (which couldn't be helped)... very nice, a nice tribute to the attack on the WTC... yet it did not ahve to mention it at all. i mean, if you had been hiding under a rock since last year and knew nothing about that, it would still be good. also a good send off for Magneto... kinda made up for the way he died, i guess. got himself a nice speech in there

Yeah! I REALLY enjoyed that issue! Mags got the send-off he deserved. I got that 9-11 vibe from it as well, which was a very nice touch. I even liked the art. And now we've got Lorna back in New and Havok back in Uncanny.... hmmm.... and they're both deranged... double hmmm....

Boy, is this the week for guest stars, or what? New AND X-Treme!

Just had a completly off topic (sort of) thought...

Didn't the guy (man...bad day...can't remember his name...) who writes New say he was making Jean Pheonix again? But Jean was NEVER Pheonix...it took her form and left her in a healing cocoon at the bottom of the bay. So how can Jean be becoming Pheonix AGAIN when she was never Phoenix in the first place?

i dunno, last issue is where that was really covered and when i went to the store, i forgot to get that issue! : (it's been a while since i've gotten comics... but my school bookstore is getting X-Men in agian! joy! comics at the convenience of my school.. tho a tad late)
