Recently shown at the WizardWorld Chicago comicon, here's Larocca's first released work on the title (well, other than his run in 2000 that is ;)):

Thoughts? Opinions?
I like Cain :D Though I prefer his anatomy to be slightly disproportional and have a smaller head than normal. But that's me

i think it is purdy, but as mentioned in chat, i would still prefer Sal would have an inker. Udon's colouring over Sal's pencils is a lot better than Liquid!'s was on X-Treme, tho.

and i am still afraid if what will happen with the interior art, storytelling wise, pretty as this is...

I love it but the coloring and inking also bother me...Lorna lookes really cool I hope she keeps this uniform I know it's not too Populer with fans....Love to see Jubes on the cover...is Havok's head gear gone by this time or is it just how Salva drew him for the cover?

I really like it. I love Kurt in Cain's hand. And Warren flying. I love Lorna's uniform, too. And yeah, it's nice to see jubes up there.
BTW, what issue will this be?

I really like Salva's art. It's pretty and soft, but still has a defined style. I like Tan too, but I'll be happy to see Salva back on the book, since he did such a good job with X-Treme. Two words: Kitty cover. I hope he does a lot of covers!

Well, I tend to like the inkless look and like Salvs art, so I think it's hot. Kurt is such a babe :love:lick:love

I miss him on X-Treme, but Kordey is getting better, so it all works out. I'm not a fan of Tans style and dont like his Nighty at all...I'm just happy to have Salv doing Nighty, I think he does a beautiful Nightcrawler.

Well I'm not a huge fan of Larocca's art, but this is some nice stuff. I do think his work will translate well with CA's writing and I look forward to seeing these two work together on Uncanny.

I agree with Bamfette - nothing beats hand inking, IMO. Liquid! just doesn't get that nice quality that having an inker does. But that's just my opinion.

Larocca's Nightcrawler is one of the best ! What's great is that Uncanny will finally know artistic stability. Austen, Tan, Larroca... that's a great team !
Does anyone know when Sal is going to start ?
Uncanny #437 I suppose. I think I've read somewhere that Ron Garney will draw a two-parter after "Draco".

Ron is drawing the Trial of Juggernaut which begins immediately after Draco. then i think that would make Sal's first arc The Ultimate X-Man, which would begin #437.... which, truth be told, i would prefer a more 'animated' artist on. Phil would probably do great with it and his pseudo-anime style, because while it would call for a cartoony approach, it is also quite dark. but whatever. we'll see what Sal does with it, i guess... he draws so many 'pretty people' i dunno what he's gonna do witht he antagonist, who is an overweight mouth-breather with his eyes too close together... in spandex, no less. :p

No, after trial is the Husk/Archangel single issue. He'll be drawing that first, I believe.

a right. i keep forgetting about that one. but still, i HIGHLY doubt that Sal wil only be drawig a single issue, the speed at which he is capable of drawing. THEN is Ultimate X-Man.

This "Ultimate X-Man" story seems hilarious.

Concerning Larocca, he sure works really fast ! I fear we'll se more of his art than Tan's.
By the way, I really, REALLY hope Philip Tan will draw ALL the Draco storyline.
I also hope that we'll see Kurt on the cover of the "Draco" trade-paperback ! Marvel is capable of finding another cover with Wolvie.

Ohh how did i miss this! Salvador always liked me...despite his way of drawing pretty people he is good, i don't like much the couloring its good he's going to have an inker for the interior art of the comics, can't wait to see him in UXM, i wish he could alternate with Tan, his art is dark and creepy and i like that, is he going to leave UXM? or he's going to pencil along with Larroca, that would be really good because both have totally oposite styles and i would like to see that contrast in the book.

well. Chuck put all of my fears about Sal to rest.

one Udon IS staying as colourist :D no more sloppy colouring errors, and it will just plain be pretty.

two, Chuck saw the first 11 pages of Sal's first issue and they were exactly what was in the script and were amazing

three, while in Chicago, they talked and are incredibly in synch about what to do with Uncanny

so i feel good about Sal now.

Yeah I saw it and love it. Although I liked Liquid's coloring of Sal's work, UDON's looks a lot better. Coloring really makes or breaks art.
