Unfortunately, it will definitely not be :cable, because he was in the "Second Coming: Prepare" one-shot, which occurs after X-Force #26. However, he might well be the second major death.

Look what I found: More art from X-Force #26. Check out Angel.

yeah... I'm afraid that Marvel's amazing marketing department has spoilered thoroughly that the coming death is Kurt's. go through the promos; by process of elimination he's the only character that they've teased as possibly dying but who is also not confirmed to be alive after Second Coming.

You really want to be optimistic. I like that ! :)

What I hope is that this fine, fine place will still exist and shine after Kurt's disappearence.

It will. Kurt's death will hit so hard, I may have to come out of fanfic retirement to fix that.

Or petition James Asmus to resurrect him. Just kidding. It was nice to have a self-proclaimed fan writing the Fuzzy One.

New theory (by Ann Elk):

The see-through people standing around the dead X-Man are just there to lead us astray. They really have nothing to do with the death, and there is someone totally unexpected under the sheet. :deadpool

That's exactly what I was hoping for. It certainly seems like something that the guys at Marvel might do. They did the same thing more or less when advertising for "Quitting Time."

I don't know, it seems almost too expectable for Kurt to be the one who dies. I mean, with the way that Marvel has been harping on this death (saying that it'll shock everyone ect.), it seems a bit too predictable to kill Kurt. I'm still holding out that the death will come out of left field somewhere and miss Kurt completely. I still have hope.

That would be awesome.

Yes it would.

And yet a "beloved X-Man" couldn't really be a dark horse, could it? It seems like whoever this person is, they have to be reasonably popular. It would be nice if whoever is under that sheet is actually a random person that nobody knows about but.....

My concern right now isn't IF Kurt dies anymore, but HOW he will.
I expect, at last, his ending to be heroic.
I bet he'll bite the dust saving Hope from Bastion.

We'll see that in less than one week ...

I still say they won't kill Kurt because it's a terrible excuse for a death, thus , a terrible idea. I really don't see how they can get away with killing Kurt and not get serious backlash for it.

What they did to Spider-Man? They were sent youtube videos of people, literally, defecating upon the issue, and telling Joe Quesada that's what they thought of him. There were mass burnings of the issue, (I'm sure nothing above thirty people at best though LOL :LMAO ), and some comic stores (I'm told), sold their last copies out and then refused to get any more.

It's fucked man. They're going to be making a huge mistake doing this. Granted Nightcrawler's fan-group is smaller than Spidey's, but...
They're about to move all the X-Men to the west coast again, stick Blade and Jubilee into their ranks, and apparently SPIDER-MAN as well. They're making some pretty drastic changes that will potentially piss Marvel Fans off. Why add to it and kill Nightcrawler? Why?

But,... Leave it to Marvel to make a decision THAT stupid.

I sincerely believe they know this site exists. I also sincerely believe one of the hundreds of thousands of inactive members we have on this board is a little gremlin for Marvel, perhaps Joe or Bendis or Yost themselves.

They know we're saying this. I'm not going to say "IF YOU'RE READING" I'm going to say:
WHEN YOU READ THIS,
know that killing Kurt will make you the NEW CHUCK AUSTEN to us. Do you really want to be Chuck? Do you really want to be the one to pull that trigger???

Marvel just doesn't care, you know.
What they think about Kurt is that he's a beloved but minor character.
For us, he's the embodiement of the X-Men's spirit.
They just don't see things as we all do here.

Apart from James Asmus, who's new to this business and hasn't got a big influence, we haven't got any allies in the M-place right now.

Robertson knew about the website, Asmus knew about the website (and as a writer, had the guts to say hello), so I have no doubt the "others" know about it too.

If they do kill Kurt, maybe Mr. Austen could "redeem" himself by being in the forefront of an organized backlash against Marvel:shifty.....( which I would join.....except that I am NOT making any youtube video that involves doing anything unseemly to an innocent comic.)

I really do hope that all the Nightcrawler hype is a diversion from the real intended victim.....(whom I also feel bad for, but not as bad as I'm going to if it's Nightcrawler).
If that's the case, I'll write a letter to Marvel and say 'That was a brilliant move, you had us weeping and gnashing our teeth, thank you for keeping Nightcrawler alive, may you live long and prosper....now quit messing with us. It's like the second time in 12 months you've had us worried."

But, people, the whole point is to keep the audience in an uproar. You want them to care about the characters, and so you keep tweaking them to stir up strong feelings. It's like (okay, showing my age here) when the took Classic Coke off the market. Suddenly it was all, like, "I want my Coke back." So if you can tease the readers into spending a month speculating about their favourite characters, they will certainly not forget to hotfoot it out there and pick up the next issue. Especially if you've been ignoring the character for a while. *Ahem*

Chris Yost knows about this site and had even posted and shown up in chat a while back.

Now as for burning or defecating on issues and sending the footage to Marvel, that won't accomplish much of anything. In order to burn or poop on an issue, you still have to buy it, and they'll love the boost in sales.

So say it with me: "If Nightcrawler's dyin', I'm not buyin'."

"If Nightcrawler's dyin, I'm not buyin."

I'll borrow the issue from my friend who will buy it no matter who dies. And I WILL stop buying comics if Kurt dies. He's the only reason I even read comics at all, and I'm supposed to be saving up for other stuff anyways. I see no reason to waste my precious money on comics that will only make me mad.

I wasn't really thinking of a "dark horse", but someone, like Charles Xavier perhaps, who is important, but not shown amongst the see-through people.

There is still some slim hope.

Are we holding a wake here, in the event what we fear comes to pass?

I expect the Marvel.com forums to explode, figuratively speaking that is, next Wednesday, so I might be spending a lot of time doing my Mod duties over there. Although, I doubt it will be as bad as what happened after the Spiderman fiasco.

This just came out, previews for X-Force #26:

I am having a funeral for Kurt at my school. There will be a Facebook event for it, should he die.

Rowena will probably be the only member of the boards to be able to attend. :/

And damn.

Who fucking called it?
Looks like it's Cable. ONCE AGAIN, I state that it's Cable. I really think they're pulling our leg showing him in the thing you guys tried to tell me took place after. (Again, I have not seen this so...)

Wow...JUST so happens that Kurt and Rogue are the ones with Hope. Which, from a tactical standpoint makes sense I guess. Gotta have your MOST experienced teleporter and a powered-up Rogue as your escort/bodygaurd considering what Cyclops believes Hope means to the future of Mutantkind.
Just a question now of how HEROIC they make his sacrifice/death look...:(
Seeing as how the death takes place in X-Force...
(Pretty much another in a LONG line of what feels like a dozen "The adventures of Wolverine guest-starring..." titles) ... :rolleyes
We'll probably be treated to an image of Logan crouching over/cradling Kurt's body with an anguished/horrified look on his face...
"Elf....!"
Angry, sad, nauseated, pissed and heartbroken at the same time just thinking about it.... :(((:mad
