<Shinobi> Shinobi glanced down disapprovingly at his orange jumpsuit. "Surely this is not the usual traveling attire? I feel like a redneck hunter who has no concept of fit. I suppose I was simply arrested in the wrong country." He clicked his tongue and resolutely walked along with his escorts for today's journey.

<Shinobi> "I trust my next accommodations shall be an improvement at best."

<Facade> "Was he always this big of a bitch when you guys knew him?" Cecilia muttered to Lukas and Fabian. "Or is this a recent development?"

<Iceman> "Yeah, yeah, there'll be a mint on your pillow every morning." Bobby had his hand on the inhibitor cuffs restraining Shinobi as they headed toward the transport. "Maybe even a hooker courtesy of daddy."

<Fabian> "Lets remember how big of bitches the two of us are." Fabian motioned to himself and Lukas. "He had some stiff competition."

<Loki> Lukas nodded sagely and stretched his legs a bit. "Really, let's just look at the entire group of us who were there. Pointing out who wasn't a bitch was the easier way to go."

<Facade> Cecilia's lips twisted in spite of the gravity of the situation and she had to bite down hard on the inside of her mouth to keep from laughing. "Very true."

<Shinobi> Shinobi snorted haughtily and decided these plebeians would just not benefit from his company in that case. To think, he had considered two of them compatriots at one time.

<Iceman> This silence was fine with Bobby, who was pretty sure he'd drawn a short straw to get this job. Exiting the building into the chilly daylight - aaaah, his element - Bobby shoved Shinobi toward the van.

<Facade> Cecilia eyed the former Acolyte. Well, if they were gonna find Fabian's sister they'd need to start somewhere and Shinobi was their best lead. "Any accommodations would be better than the ones you had with Stryker though, yeah?" she asked him. Hoping he might give the only woman present and an unknown element more information than he would two defected teammates and interrogators.

<Shinobi> Shinobi looked somewhat confused at what Cecilia had said. His memory was a bit jumbled about the place but he wasn't about to admit such an apparent failing. "Well, I certainly wasn't charmed by my visitors. The source of my good genes leaves something to be desired in my opinion."

<Facade> "No visits from family then I assume?" she said, keeping an eye out for any approaching trouble but putting a fair bit of attention into the conversation at hand.

<Anna-Maria> Anna-Maria was focused on the task she'd been assigned by Colonel Stryker, though a small part of her vaguely wondered why she was wasting her time saving Shinobi Shaw's ass. Those thoughts were mostly overrode by her impatience as she waited for the van to come into range, checking the rifle she'd assembled for what had to be the hundredth time.

<Fabian> Fabian stood and waited for the doors to the back to unlock and the loading to begin. "Where were you heading to before you got captured, anyway?" It would be a possible lead, after all, and Fabian could hope that the man would actually tell him.

<Sung> There was room for little else in Kim Sung's mind anymore. He was focused on his task, for the glory of his leader. The target didn't matter, so long as the mission was completed with success.

<Iceman> Once loaded up, the van and its escort rumbled through the gates. The driver looked nervous, and Bobby decided to chat with him through the security window.

<Shinobi> "I had extensive talks with my father." Shinobi replied to Facade but just shrugged to Fabian's question. "Well, I had to find a better suit, that was for certain."

<Anna-Maria> After checking the time, she peered through the scope once more, commenting, "It shouldn't be much longer."

<Facade> Cecilia's hands clenched and her eyes narrowed at this but otherwise there was little sign how angry she was. Dozens of people cut down just so this psychopath could get a suit. God, I would love to take a chunk outta this guy. "I know," she replied to Shinobi.

<Sung> He nodded, shifting position slightly to prepare.

<Iceman> Bobby glanced back over their little group in the van. The rest of his team was in England. He could be in England, but noooo.

<Anna-Maria> As the van came into view, Anna-Maria shot a glance over her shoulder to Sung and gave a nod in return, carefully lining up the shot to take out the tires of the van. She was more than sure she could make the shot, especially after all the practice she'd had before and after the assassinations, and squeezed the trigger once she was sure she was on-target.

<Sung> It was a personal failing that he could not reach the van's engine at range with his disruptions. So, he waited, not even flinching at the shot, and watched the van swerve wildly.

<Fabian> "Son of a bitch!" Fabian said the phrase surprisingly calmly but with much fervor as the van swerved sharply. Well, this was almost expected, wasn't it? When did anything go smoothly?

<Facade> "Shit!" Cecilia exclaimed, as the van pitched back and forth, sending her sprawling towards the other occupants of the van. "Somehow I don't think this exchange is gonna go as planned!"

<Anna-Maria> With the van swerving, she took her time lining up another shot, this one aimed for the driver of the transport.

<Loki> Lukas yelped and his staff appeared in his hand, slamming into the floor of the van to try and stabilize himself. "When does anything we do go smoothly?!"

<Iceman> "Oh, of fucking course!" Bobby was thrown into Shinobi, but regained his balance with a shift to ice. "You guys" he yelled, pointing at the X-Men. "Keep Sharky Junior covered, I'm going to shut this shit down!"

<Facade> Cecilia's eyes went wide as the inside of the windshield was splattered with the driver's blood. "Oh shit!" she snarled, lunging for the wheel to try and stabilize the van, shields up in case whoever was shooting at them decided to plug her too.

<Iceman> Realizing his comm had been crushed by the impact with Shinobi, he cursed again and started to order the driver to call for backup - just a second too late.

<Fabian> Fabian almost regretted not drinking more last night. He turned to Shinobi. "Sorry for this, 'old chum'" and, with that, got to work burning the man out.

<Fabian> That in combination with the government-provided collar should make him easy work. He just needed to worry about how things went outside.

<Facade> "Fuck me!" Cecilia said, swiping frantically at the windshield to remove some of the blood. "I can't see shit!" She pressed down hard on the brake and hoping she didn't manage to hit anyone in the time it took for the vehicle to stop.

<Anna-Maria> "Move in," Anna-Maria ordered as she quickly disassembled the weapon that wasn't suited for anything close range and stowed it in a bag to pick up after they'd acquired Shinobi. "Disrupt them, and I'll try to grab Shaw."

<Iceman> That was a problem easily solved since Bobby moved through the splintered security barrier and shattered the windshield outward with a spike of ice. "Keep your eyes on the road, Cee!" Catching the shards in an ice slide, he shot out of the windshield and toward their attackers.

<Sung> "Ye, seon saeng nim," he said with a nod and sprinted after the van, in time to see one of the mutants burst from the front of the vehicle.

<Fabian> "If you've got it handled up there I've got it handled back here." Fabian let Cecilia know as Shinobi seemed aware that this could actually still not go well for him but was trying to fight his restraints with what energy he had left in his control.

<Loki> "Son of a bitch," Lukas growled and threw out his hand, eyes glowing green, a car nearby rear ending another and slamming it into Sung's path.

<Anna-Maria> Despite having no idea what Sung just said, she assumed he was going to do his job as he sprinted toward the vehicle, leaving her to run around to the back of the van.

<Facade> Cecilia tried to floor the gas now that there was nothing obstructing her view...but the engine stalled and died. "The van's fucked seven ways to hell!" she shouted back. "We gotta - WATCH OUT!"

<Sung> He was close enough to stall the engines of the vehicles, and too close to avoid the car that still barreled toward him. With a yell, he barely evaded by dodging and rolling into a roadside ditch... but now the van had skidded past him.

<Iceman> Bobby tried to stop some of the civilian cars and wall off their.... clusterfuck. Damage containment, just like Fury liked. That done, he turned back to the van.

<Fabian> "Do I even want to know what else we have to watch out for?" Fabian asked, switching to boosting up his teammates a bit now that Shinobi was a drooling mess in his seat.

<Sung> He knew this one, he realized, looking up at the ice formation above his head. With a rictus grin he focused his disruption power and watched the man fall.

<Anna-Maria> Anna-Maria cursed under her breath, assuming she was spotted at the cry to watch out. She reached for the gun at her hip and fired in the direction of what remained of the windshield and windows as she rounded the van. If she was lucky, one of the bullets would land, though she didn't necessarily need them to. They were mostly a distraction.

<Facade> One of the bullets landed, in fact, many of them landed directly on Cecilia making her scream in both pain and fright as the metal ricocheted off her shields.

<Loki> Looking at Fabian, Lukas nodded and Shaw and then at the floor. "Get him down." He turned and quickly scuttled towards the front, keeping low. Taking a deep breath he dove out the windshield.

<Fabian> Boosting Cecilia had just become his priority when he heard that but he did wench Shinobi down onto the floor to drool. "Lukas, I swear to God if you get your ass shot to death...I want your helmet!"

<Anna-Maria> By the time she was coming around the back of the van, Anna-Maria had run out of ammo and disposed of the gun, carelessly tossing it to the side of the road and she wrenched the doors to the van open. The occupant in the back with Shaw caused her to pause and blankly stare for a moment before she blinked and shook the feeling, going for Shinobi.

<Sung> With one down, Kim Sung closed in on the van, seeing Cortez at the back. He went for the front, only to find himself bowled over again - this time by a helmeted man.

<Facade> Cecilia slid down to the floor as soon as Anna-Maria stopped to re-load and crawled towards the back, muttering the entire way. "Shit flying at my head! That's it! I'm getting the fuck outta this country! Going to Canada, where there's maple syrup and no guns and - AHHH!"

<Loki> The aforementioned helmet materialized on Lukas' head as he sprinted around the van and brought his staff crashing down across Sung's back.

<Fabian> "...Oh fucking hell!" Fabian couldn't let himself absorb what was just happening properly, instead throwing himself at his sister and throwing them both out of the van.

<Sung> Cursing in Korean and rolling back over, he used his power on his attacker, pleased when his weaponry vanished. He laughed and dove for his legs.

<Facade> Cecilia flinched, anticipating another lead salad but instead Fabian managed to stop that by football tackling his sister out of the car. "Holy shit!" she exclaimed, more than a little surprised.

<Anna-Maria> Tumbling out of the back of the van, Anna-Maria was momentarily winded, barely managing to breathe out a curse as she reached for her pistol. Her fingers grazed it, and she just barely managed to pull it into her grasp, whipping her twin upside the head with the butt of the weapon.

<Loki> Lukas growled as his staff disappeared, eyes flaring as a bottle came skittering onto the street as civilians ran by. He made a grab for it just as the man slammed into his legs. "Fuck!"

<Fabian> Fabian swore as the pistol cracked alongside his jaw but he still had weight enough on Anna-Maria to try and pin her and disarm her, digging his elbow into her sternum to hopefully keep her from worming her way out.

<Sung> Still cackling, he tried to pin the X-Man, not seeing the bottle until it smashed into his temple, throwing him off balance.

<Anna-Maria> Struggling under Fabian's weight, she hissed as his elbow painfully dug into her chest while he pinned her arm, however she used her free hand to reach for a handful of hair, forcing out through gritted teeth, "Scrambler! Get Shaw!"

<Facade> Cecilia crawled over Shinobi's limp form and peeked over the edge of the truck. "Are you alright?!" she demanded.

<Loki> "Go fuck yourself," Lukas shouted at Fabian's sister before headbutting Sung with his helmet.

<Fabian> That was it. Anna-Maria knew from years of fighting with her brother surely that you don't go for the hair pulling. He went right ahead and pushed her energy far, far too high. "You'll thank me for this later."

<Sung> His nose exploded with blood, but he heard the order. Conditioning kicking in, he used his power again - this time in its other aspect. "Touching me was a mistake!" Contact meant he could use that other power, and paralyze his attacker.

<Loki> Lukas crumpled onto his back, staring up and unable to move. His chest vibrated as he continued to growl in anger and his eyes found the power lines above them. Eye twitching, the pole began to tilt, the line pulling taut.

<Anna-Maria> Anna-Maria could feel her shielding breaking down as Fabian overrode her control, the surrounding emotions flooding her mind, causing her to struggle harder against her brother. Releasing his hair, she desperately grasped at the ground, coming up with a beetle, which she promptly shoved in her twin's face.

<Sung> He regained his feet and staggered toward the van, wiping blood from his eyes onto his sleeves. The mission was to recover Shaw, and he would, no matter what.

<Fabian> The beetle attack did make Fabian lean back more than he should but he slammed his foot into her knee as hard as he dared, trying to keep his flight instinct down.

<Loki> The pole continued to lean, the line snapped and came swinging down towards Sung. Lukas remained paralyzed on the ground, only able to take shallow breaths.

<Facade> Cecilia had turned to check on Shinobi once she was sure Fabian had the situation under control. "Oh fuck," she hissed, catching sight of Scrambler advancing on the van with Lukas and Bobby on the ground outside. She climbed back into the front seat and opened the driver's door to deal with him and help the two X-Men that were down. Only to curse and hit the dirt next to the truck as an electrical pole flew right for their attacker.

<Anna-Maria> Anna-Maria cried out in pain as Fabian brought his foot down on her knee but forced herself to sit up, continuing to force the beetle into his face as she pulled her other arm free, swinging the gun at him again. Her knee was throbbing, but they needed to get Shinobi. …Even if that was her brother.

<Fabian> He reached out to catch the arm swinging at him this time. "You're going to have to try harder than one damned bug, I've been fighting off giant ones of late. Stop this, I'll take you home."

<Sung> Sung flung himself to the dirt as well to avoid the pole, unfortunately finding himself face to face with the woman. With a frustrated scream, he scrambled her power.

<Facade> Cecilia felt her stomach drop as her shields flickered and died. No, they have guns! In a panic, she spun her legs around to kick Scrambler in the face before pulling herself to her feet. It's up to me now, powers or no powers.

<Sung> Finding his face again abused, he tried to shield himself with his arms while scrabbling back and away from her. Finding the closest exit, he dove under the van to come out the other side and jerk open the door.

<Loki> Sung's frustration was just enough to let Lukas move a bit. His arm rolled so his hand was facing upwards, a glittering silver dagger appearing. He struggled to sit up, grunting a bit as he caught sight of Cee kicking the asshole in the face. "Hey Scrambles. I've got a joke for you." He threw the dagger at the man.

<Anna-Maria> Letting the beetle fall between them when he caught her arm, she pushed at the ground with her hand and good leg to roll them, scoffing at the suggestion of home. She couldn't even recall having a home… except she'd have to have one because this was her brother, right? Pushing the thoughts aside, Anna-Maria assured him as she kneed him in the stomach, ignoring the pain, "I can try harder."

<Iceman> The impact without his powers hadn't done Bobby any good, and he returned to consciousness slowly, pushing himself up on his arms. He groaned. "Uuuuugh, tell me somebody got the license number..."

<Sung> The dagger sliced through the first layers of his body armor, nicking skin between the vest and his belt. The cut was shallow, but it hurt and bled freely, smearing even more of the fluid over the seats as he struggled to reach Shaw.

<Facade> Cecilia climbed back through the driver's side and grabbed the back of Sung's shirt, hitting him hard in the back of the skull.

<Fabian> "So can I!" Fabian retorted, moving to throw her and reaching out for her gun again all while pushing her energy closer to her breaking point.

<Sung> Stunned - again - Sung twisted and grabbed the woman by the face, giving her the same paralysis as he had the other man.

<Loki> Pulling himself to his feet, Lukas stumbled a bit as his leg slowly woke up. He hobbled towards the van, picking his discarded dagger up, warping it into his staff.

<Iceman> His own powers returning slowly, Bobby stood slowly and wavered, cracking his neck, back, left elbow and... ow, was that his knee?!

<Facade> Cecilia didn't even have time to get out of the way and she had no shields so she simply took the hit and fell forward, falling awkwardly between the driver and passengers seat, breaking the fall with her face. She tried to scream as her nose snapped and blood poured onto the floorboard but she couldn't.

<Sung> Finally free to reach his objective, he laughed again. When he reached Shaw, he fumbled for the device that would deactivate the cuffs. The man was barely conscious, so Sung gave him a hard backhand across the face. It did not seem to help.

<Anna-Maria> Anna-Maria used the momentum of the throw to roll, managing to twist her hand with the gun free of his grasp, the emotions of everyone surrounding them becoming even more overwhelming as Fabian pushed her powers to their limits. Despite the pressure of an oncoming migraine and her vision threatening to give away to darkness, she pointed the gun at her brother and fired, never second guessing her decision.

<Anna-Maria> There was no getting Shaw, and a tactical retreat was the only remaining option. She couldn't afford to be captured as well, and Sung would have to fend for himself.

<Shinobi> Shinobi blinked and looked up at his rescuer and sort of flopped towards him but speech was something that evaded him for the moment.

<Sung> "Walk, you dog!" He jerked Shaw up by his ugly orange collar.

<Loki> Grabbing onto the side of the van, Lukas looked in and found Cee bleeding on the ground and Sung slapping Shaw around. He bared his teeth and moved for Sung. "I don't think so!"

<Iceman> Bobby saw the shot, but was too far away to do anything but yell. Wait, wasn't that his fucking sister?!

<Facade> Cecilia felt a sick feeling spread throughout her body as a shot rang out. God, please... She didn't know, she couldn't know, but she did. She just knew it. "Nnngh," she mumbled through numb lips, struggling to move with every once of her willpower but succeeding only in making her hands shake. "No."

<Fabian> There was no chance of retaliation or even thinking about giving chance now as the shot had buried itself into his abdomen. In amongst the pain Fabian was sure that he was going to lose whatever lunch his sister had just attempted to shoot out of him.

<Shinobi> Walking wasn't happening at all as the moment he tried to stand up another limb seemed to go boneless. He blinked up at the Finn, somewhat jealous of his helmet.

<Sung> "You again?" He bared his own jagged teeth at his attacker and flung Shinobi at him with all the strength he still possessed.

<Shinobi> Shinobi fell to the floorboard like a particularly flaily wet towel.

<Loki> Lukas bared his teeth and swung his staff at both their heads, officially not caring. "Me again, motherfucker. Suck my staff."

<Anna-Maria> Feeling Fabian's control recede as the bullet hit, Anna-Maria didn't waste any time scrambling to her feet, swaying as she attempted to clear her head, her knee almost giving out as she carried herself away from the scene as quickly as she could. She needed to retrieve the rifle and meet Stryker at the rendezvous point, a meeting that she was dreading because she'd failed her mission.

<Iceman> "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fucking fuck! Don't you die, you asshole!" Bobby ran up to Cortez on the ground, immediately applying pressure to the wound - and ice. His powers were still wonky and he couldn't quite reach the girl - but he tried. Bobby sent a shower of ice daggers straight for her retreating back.

<Facade> Cecilia forced herself to crawl, inch by inch towards the back of the truck, every muscle screaming in protest. "Someone...please...help."

<Sung> The staff connected soundly with a crack of bone and Sung slid to the ground to join Shaw in a tangle.

<Fabian> Fabian was both shocked and probably in shock at the circumstances and the fact he now had Bobby Drake to play first aid nursemaid for him. "I am right there with you. Not dying and I am an asshole."

<Loki> Panting a moment, Lukas made his way out the back and found Fabian and Bobby. Sliding down the doorway to the van, Lukas stared at his best friend. "Have to get him to the doctor..."

<Anna-Maria> Luckily, she'd tripped before the ice connected with her back, the daggers sailing over her head, spraying her with ice. Pushing herself back up to her feet, she briefly glanced back over her shoulder, cursing. What had she just done?

<Iceman> "That would probably be a start, genius," he snapped, hand still over the wound.

<Facade> Cecilia forced herself into a standing position, dragging herself up by grabbing onto one of the handle bars. "Oh God," she said roughly as she caught sight of what was going on through the back. "No, no, no...please Christ no!"

<Loki> "Fuck yourself, Drake," Lukas grunted and turned to Cecilia. He took a deep breath and slapped her. "I know what this is doing to you, but he needs you to pull it together!"

<Fabian> "Can I throw up first? ...don't think it's a good idea." Fabian answered his own question but still really wanted to.

<Iceman> "Don't move," Bobby instructed, though he winced at the slap. Oh, she was so going to kill him now... "We got no comms, unless yours made it - everybody check for comms and we'll call backup. We have to secure Frick and Frack there before they wake up from nappy-poo, too."

<Facade> Cecilia yelped as Lukas' hand connected with her broken nose and one of her two currently forming black eyes. "Pull it to-together, right! Yes, th-thank you!" she babbled, stumbling over in trance and putting her hands over Fabian's stomach to apply pressure.

<Fabian> "Cee, I think it's mostly ice. I'm not going to fall out." Fabian murmured but, for the most part, listened to Bobby.

<Loki> Lukas took a moment and buried his face in his hands. Breathing for a moment and then straightening up, he checked his comm. It had been crushed, probably when he slammed into the ground. "Mine's out. I've got these assholes."

<Iceman> "Calm down, Cee, it's cool." He closed one eye at that, as he hadn't intended the pun for once, and got up. "I'll check the one in the van then." Bobby nodded at Lukas as he went to secure the prisoners.

<Facade> Cecilia grit her teeth to suppress any sobs that might threaten to break through but she couldn't stop the cascading tears. Reality began to slide back and forth in her mind. Now she was trying to hold in the hot gush of blood as her father bled out on a sidewalk in Mott Haven, now her hands were beginning to go numb as the ice that held in Fabian's guts slid over her fingers. Back and forth until she wasn't sure where she was anymore or what year it was.

<Iceman> It was then he really got a good look at the corpse in the van - the driver. Jesus, poor Sam. Shaking his head, Bobby checked the radio. After smacking it around for a minute, it popped to life. "Agent Iceman requesting immediate backup. Officers down, transport compromised." He looked back at the mess. "Cargo secure."

<Fabian> Fabian was actually getting more freaked out watching Cecilia now than knowing that his sister had just shot him. "Cee? It's...not like that?" Words weren't his friend right now but he was sure she knew what he meant.

<Loki> Lukas knelt next to the unconscious prisoners and let a malicious sneer make its way to his face. He snapped the cuffs back onto Shinobi and shoved him into the back. Turning his attention to Sung, he actually began to rip cloth from the man's clothing and gagging him, then tying him up.

<Facade> Cecilia swiped at her face shakily with the back of one hand. "I don't want you to...I can't live through this again."

<Fabian> "I'm not going to do crap." Fabian said spacily. That wasn't entirely true, however, he really was reconsidering his options on getting sick. The ice layer was numbing, to be sure, but there was only so much that could do.

<Facade> "Where the hell is medical?!" Cecilia shouted at Bobby.

<Iceman> Bobby had joined Lukas, and had rather enjoyed watching him smack the unconscious guys around. He turned his head to look over his shoulder at Cecilia. "They're inbound. ETA was five minutes."

<Loki> Lukas finished tying Sung up into such a series of knots he'd never get out on his own and stood up. "I swear by all the gods above that if you die I will find a way to bring you back and then bitch slap you back to death, Fabian Cortez!"

<Facade> Five minutes, that felt like a lifetime now. "He's not gonna die!" she snapped at Lukas, starting to feel a little pissed off that he'd slapped her earlier. "And if anyone's gonna get bitch-slapped to death it's you, Lukas! I'll remember that!" Anger, it'd gotten her through so much and she slipped into it comfortably. She had to. Without her rage she would never survive.

<Fabian> Fabian had lost track of the conversation despite the interesting topic of bitch-slapping. Instead he vaguely pointed away. "Spinny."

<Loki> Picking up on Cee's return to the realm, Lukas grinned. "Oh well look who's returned to the land of reality! Maybe now you can keep him awake until medical gets here." He paused and looked at Fabian, making his way over to him ", oh no you don't. Look at me."

<Iceman> "Yeah, yeah, we're not making this any more pleasant by being asswipes to each other so how about we all can it?" He heard something now. "Well, there they... fuck..." It was a helicopter, but it was taking off instead of coming their way - taking off from the general direction the crazy sister had run. "Fuck!"

<Facade> "No, no, no! Stay awake!" Cecilia said, slapping the side of Fabian's face lightly. "Help's almost here!" Her stomach sank as the chopper turned around though, so much so that she actually forgot to snipe back at Lukas. "NO!"

<Fabian> "I am awake. Spinny thing...whir...goddammit what's the English word for that. I've a hole in me, don't expect brilliance."

<Loki> Lukas looked up and watched, expression draining off his face. "Fabian. I know she's your sister, but I'm going to kill her." He looked at Bobby.

<Iceman> He shifted to ice, forming the ice slide before he had a real plan, but it was already too far out of range. He saw very little before the bird turned, but he did see a flash of movement... was that a uniform?

<Facade> "Oh God! We have to get him back to the school! Or a hospital! Anything, just help him!" Cecilia cried, hands running through her hair frantically.

<Iceman> The impact without his powers hadn't done Bobby any good, and he returned to consciousness slowly, pushing himself up on his arms. He groaned. "Uuuuugh, tell me somebody got the license number..."
