9/12 Instance: Lothlorien Lurve

Post by Slarti »

Current timeline, after Bad Social Skills Theater.

<Lorna> Lorna looked confused as she was putting on her warmest winter coat. "It's not that cold out, is it?" She asked, doing her best to shuffle the coat over the bump.

<Bobby> "We need to get you a new coat," Bobby tried to help her, unable to stop smiling. "And it's not... but where we're going will be plenty cold." He had kept her in the dark about his plans - literally and figuratively. Taking advantage of the earlier evenings this time of year, he had managed to get everything set up quickly enough at dusk before coming inside to get Lorna.

<Bobby> Now, he opened the front door for her and motioned for her to go through first. At the same time, he plugged in the extension cord looped across the porch and into a cracked window. His creation now glowed with multi-colored lights, throwing its illumination across the lawn.

<Lorna> "....wow." It took Lorna a moment to actually be able to see that as she looked out at the lit up ice castle before her. "How long had you been working on this, it's beautiful!" She let out a rather giddy laugh, looking up at the structure as she stepped closer, holding her arm out for Bobby to take the hand.

<Bobby> "Thanks." Bobby quickly took her hand and gave it a squeeze, then moved closer to hook her arm in his like a formal escort. "Um... about an hour?" He felt his face heat up a little, proud and pleased at her reaction. Leading her closer, he focused for a moment and snow started to fall in fat crystalline flakes.

<Lorna> "Even with the lights?" She asked, turning back to him, looking up and laughing at the snow now falling around them. "It's really beautiful, Bobby. Take me on a tour?"

<Bobby> "Lights took the longest." His grin turned slightly sheepish. "I may have swiped them from your theater." Bobby nodded and led her around the outside. He'd of course hoped she'd be impressed, so he'd created the castle with the most ornate facade facing away from the front door. That, and the perfect fairytale carriage parked in front of the arched main doorway.

<Lorna> "Hey, this is sort of what they're for, yeah? Theatrics." She pointed out, quite proud of their usage here. Impressed was actually falling a little short of what she was with this. "You really outdone yourself with this. Ha! Look at the carriage!" She made a bee's line for it to have a closer look, tugging him along.

<Bobby> "I'm nothing if not theatrical," he snorted, letting her drag him wherever she wanted to go. "Just not in the Howlett way." Since she was standing right there, he made the icy horse's head turn to look at her. It gave her a lazy blink and shook its mane with a tinkle.

<Lorna> "Nobody is theatrical in the Howlett way. He has his own level of fabulous that cannot be attained by us mere mortals." Lorna laughed at the horse moving, squeezing his hand tighter. "You know what this reminds me of?"

<Bobby> "Oh God, do I want to know?" Bobby laughed a little, running his thumb over her knuckles and just watching her in the glow of the colored lights.

<Lorna> "Our igloo that one time." She poked his side at the question, grinning wider. "I mean, it wasn't nearly as blingy but it was still pretty damned sweet."

<Bobby> "Ahhh. No, I definitely won't ever forget that." His smile turned soft, remembering the igloo and their stolen sleeping bag that they hadn't done any sleeping in. "I figured a little extra bling never hurts."

<Lorna> "I think it's quite fitting for Ice Shack 2.0." Lorna nodded at the question of bling, leaning against him a bit. "So, do I get a tour of your art?"

<Bobby> He chanced sliding his arm around her waist to lead her inside. "There might be slides in here, you know."

<Lorna> "I am all about slides in this case." Her own arm went around his waist as well as they stepped inside, her eyes immediately following the ice walls up to really get the scope of what Bobby created.

<Bobby> There were slides in there, and some other sculptures. The main room, however, was taken up with a recreation of Lothlorien lit from within with more colored theatrical lights. Bobby turned his head just enough to watch her face, trying to see if she remembered this as well.

<Lorna> Lorna's face lit up even more when she realized what she was looking at, definitely remembering and letting out a laughing cry. Her free hand went up, preemptively wiping her eyes.

<Bobby> He bit his lip and grinned at her, laughing a little himself now. "Guess you remember this too then." He looked up at the fanciful elvish designs and back at her. "Just wanted to make this special, you know?"

<Lorna> She nodded, still laughing a bit distractedly as she looked around at everything. "Oh, well you got what you wanted then. This is special. Perfect."

<Bobby> "Good. I was going for perfect." Bobby swallowed hard and bit down on his lip harder to stop himself from just leaning in and kissing her. While it wasn't really perfect for him, he wasn't going to chance ruining it for her. He took a deep breath and it only shook a little.

<Lorna> She glanced over his way, grinning up at him and squeezing his shoulder. "Thank you, Bobby."

<Bobby> "You're welcome." The look she was giving him was pretty rewarding though. He gave her a squeeze and slid his hand over to the side of her belly to rest on the bump. "I didn't make the slides too steep so you and junior there can actually take 'em if you want."

<Lorna> "Well then we'll have to head down there soon." Lorna was content to stay right by him for the moment, however, smiling and just soaking in the ice castle glory. "You really have outdone yourself, you know." There wasn't a way she could say how she appreciated it so she pulled him down, giving him a kiss.

<Bobby> It took him a moment to register that she had initiated this, that it was okay to respond exactly the way he wanted to - so he did. Bobby's other hand came up to her face to stroke her hair, then cup her cheek as he returned the kiss.

<Lorna> It took a while for Lorna to pull back but she did so smirking. "So...why don't you give me a tour of your mighty fortress here? It might not be the Fortress of Solitude but I'm sure you have some interesting things to show off here."

<Bobby> Bobby pulled back from the kiss with a dopey, ear-to-ear grin and held her close a little longer. "Oh, the fortress is the sofa," he said, grin turning to a smirk for just a moment. "But I do love to show off."

<Lorna> "Well then, get to it, Sweetcheeks." Lorna gently hipchecked him, not wanting to throw the force of baby into him while they were still on the ice.

<Bobby> The nickname, as always, earned her another goofy grin and he moved away to take her hand, lacing their fingers together for the sake of walking more easily up into one of the lacy elvish structures.

<Lorna> Lorna's expression was on that side of sappy as well as she walked alongside him, picking her way up and squeezing his hand. "It's so beautiful"

<Bobby> "Now is when I should give you the line that it's not half as beautiful as you are right now." He turned around to walk backward and watch her, wrinkling his nose playfully. "Except you know I mean it, 'cause I'm just that bad."

<Lorna> "Hey now, you're a good kind of bad." She assured him, hurrying a few steps so she could walk closer. "And I appreciate that a whole lot, just so you know." Lorna quirked the corner of her mouth up, reaching up with her free hand to give him another poke to the chest.

<Bobby> "I appreciate that you're giving me this chance," he said, smile getting a little more serious. He tugged her hand to pull her closer and gave her a quick peck on the lips, just before he wound around the curve of the ramp to their destination.

<Bobby> On another icy platform, he had formed a swan-shaped boat, and inside it sat a very real table and chairs.

<Lorna> "I'm glad we have it." Lorna kept her smile as she got serious as well, quickly changing it to a wide grin at the peck and the sight of the boat. "My, you've planted little surprises through this even, spoiling me you are."

<Bobby> "I'm spoiling your grammar too, Yodette," he laughed, helping her into the boat. "I figure ice chairs... taking it a bit too far. Don't want you to get butt frostbite."

<Lorna> "Our cheeks would be less sweet if we were to rip off a few layers." Lorna agreed, stepping into the boat and keeping hold of his hand to help him over as well. "Better safe than sore in that regard."

<Bobby> "Words to live by." Bobby pulled out her chair for her to take a seat and then dropped a kiss to the top of her head, pausing to breathe her in before hurrying to the other side of the table and rummaging under it.

<Lorna> Gladly taking her seat, ice waddling was hard even if you had someone guiding the way, Lorna leaned over the table, smiling curiously as Bobby rummaged for things. "So, what have you packed for us now?"

<Bobby> "Treasures." Bobby rolled the cooler out from behind the tablecloth curtain and opened it up. It had served its opposite function well, and the half dozen Chinese takeout containers inside were still hot. "Cooking, I'm afraid, was just a little too much for me unless you wanted to relive the Spam casserole surprise."

<Lorna> "Hey now, don't be down on the Spam casserole surprise. Once you got that stuff burnt it was actually pretty good....and a real surprise to boot." She was laughing at the memory anyway which was a nice feeling. "Takeout is always a welcome surprise as well."

<Bobby> "Oh, it was surprising all right," he laughed, picking the containers out of the cooler and looking inside to sort them out. He broke out the chopsticks and handed a pair across as well. "And I promise, no Fluffy lo mein."

<Lorna> "Fluffy is the more dangerous mystery meat." Lorna agreed, taking her chopsticks as she contemplated Fluffy versus Spam. "Now I wonder which mystery meat it is that I crave. We'll get into that at a different time though, hmm?"

<Bobby> "Probably for the best," he agreed, setting out their feast of questionable origin and pouring them two drinks. Mission accomplished, Bobby gave her a grin and clicked his chopsticks together. "Not sure how to say 'bon appetit' in Chinese, but I can say it in Klingon."

<Lorna> "I think it's more fitting for us in Klingon anyway, isn't it?" Lorna asked, clicking her chopsticks back. "It's only fitting. Sadly I can't have any bloodwine but eventually we'll get to that."

<Bobby> "Amen to that - I mean, ylSlop!" Bobby cranked up his grin again and started to dig in to one of the containers, then paused. "Almost forgot." Concentrating for a moment, he snapped his fingers and a bouquet of icy flowers appeared on the table, quickly spinning out of the moisture in the air.

<Lorna> "...now you're just showing off. I love it." Lorna laughed, applauding the newly appearing flowers before reaching out to touch one.

<Bobby> Bobby inclined his head in a bow. "Nothing is too good for my lady love." He picked a bite out of the container and chewed thoughtfully. "Both my lady loves," he added.

<Lorna> "And they both thank you." Lorna waggled a chopstick at him, smiling. "And we both love you, too."

<Bobby> It sent a thrill up his spine and he smiled. Okay, now it was perfect.
