9/19 Game: Into the Woods

Post by Starfish »

Timeline: Tuesday, September 5

Jason: Infomercial, infomercial, possibly porn, infomercial. Jason clicked at the channel buttong faster but it didn't seem to make any difference. "There is absolutely shit for television right now." Of course, it was also just a bit after midnight so that wasn't completely unexpected.

Jason: "Though, I suppose this is the Billy Mays Remenberance Hour too." He snorted, clicking the remote and doing away with the infomercial beyond the grave.

Rogue: Rogue slipped into the recroom with her coffee, fresh chicory. Remy'd come through again. She settled on the couch, curling up on the arm. "Ain't there some old movies on'r somethin'?"

Pietro: "So turn it off?" Pietro stretched a little, trying to get more comfortable with his book. He yawned, "Put something else on?"

Wade: "What we need is a few horror movies." Oh yeah, perfect mood for horror. Wade thought to himself and also said outloud, the bit in quotes, not the bit in coloured thoughts.

Jason: "But then I wouldn't have anything to complain about." Jason pointed out. "It's my favourite thing...a movie does sound nice though. Anyone have any suggestions?"

Wade: "....see above?" Wade suggested.

Pietro: Pietro shook his head and held up his book. Whatever was on didn't matter to him.

Kitty: Kitty sat crossed legged in a comfy chair, resting her chin in her hand as propped up on the arm of the chair. "Something funny." she yawned.

Wade: "I mean, like I said, how about horror? Or scifi?" Wade really suggested.

Selene: Selene shuffled into the recroom, her long, black hair in a disheveled arrangment and sans shoes or socks, focusing on getting a steaming mug of coffee safely across the room and to one of the comfortable chair.

J: "Um... FUnny... Horror... Shawn of the Dead?" He supplied.

Adriana: "I like horror movies! You can always see the zipper." Adriana smiled brightly into the room.

Jason: "I meant like actual movies that any of you have and can go get. I may be an illusionist but I'm not pulling a movie out of my ass."

Selene: "Night... morning... Happy Hanukah... whatever," she mumbled, sitting down in a free chair without spilling any coffee. Much to her own surprise.

Wade: "Hm, FUnny... Horror... Freddy Versus Jason?" Wade added to the supply.

Pietro: Pietro watched Selene's progress across the room, "Someone not wanting to sleep tonight?" He eyed the coffee.

J: "I have a few dvd's in my room... I could go get them..." He said rising from his spot on the floor. "I'll grab a couple and you guys can pick...."

Rogue: Rogue sipped on her chicory, "Ah could probably go grab Evil Dead Two from Bobby an' Lorna if they're up."

Jason: "I could make Freddy wet himself and have therapist bills as sheets." Jason clicked the remote again and arched an eyebrow at the television. "I think this might be Carnival of Souls...so hey, horror!" Though, that wasn't really a movie one wanted to start in the middle of.

Adriana: "But JayJay, couldn't you, like, just let the movie happen around us? Wouldn't that be awesome?" She looked at him out from under the neon green bowler with a shamrock attached to it she was wearing.

Jason: "And catch the possible Swine Flu from them? I like my movies to come uncontaminated." Jason made a face at Rogue's suggestion. "Well...I could."

J: J turned to adriana... "Um... No.. I can't... I dont think..." He said as he made his way to the door.

Rogue: Rogue rolled her eyes, "Baby. Ah hafta sleep with Sam an' Ah'm fine."

Selene: Selene managed to look up from the hypnotic black liquid inside her cup, eying Pietro. "I haven't decided yet," she said, after giving her words a moment of thought. "I want coffee, though. I've been out."

Kitty: Yawning again, Kitty stretched, her knit pajama top rising just a bit. Retying the drawstring on her bottoms she looked up. "Wrong J - I think..." She was still trying to remember everybody's name.

Selene: She glanced down herself, at her bare feet, then back up at Pietro. "Hey... have you seen my shoes, by any chance?"

Pietro: "Um.... no... not to my knowledge anyway.... you don't remember where you left them?" He shuffled in his seat to face her better.

Jason: That's right, she slept with Sam...Jason reached for his lysol, eyeing Rogue dangerously.

Jason: "I'm not sure you were wearing shoes when you came in. Leave them upstairs?"

Selene: Selene's eyes narrowed as she gave everyone in the room a suspicious look. "I can't really remember," she said in a low voice. "I think they walked off without me. Ungrateful buggers."

Pietro: Pietro laughed, "I'm sure they'll turn up. I can help you look later if you want... of course you'll have to give me a description."

Rogue: Rogue smirked at Jason and his lysol. "Carryin' that 'round f' Monet?"

Jason: "It never hurts to be safe...and it's really quite amusing to spray her."

Kitty: "I thought you were wearing shoes..." Kitting furrowed her brow trying to remember what Selene looked like when she came in.

Selene: "Jason is a wise man to carry that around with him, " Selene remarked, nodding slowly.

Selene: Selene tilted her head, then ran a hand through her hair. "No, I don't think so," she told Kitty. "I remember that I was already barefoot in the kitchen. I know that so well because I stepped into something wet and sticky."

Jason: "Why thank you." Jason smiled happily, twirling the bottle and eyeing the room just in case. He wasn't coming down with whatever the other people had, that was for sure.

Adriana: Adriana had thought for a long while to herself, with people talking about sickness and such, and now she felt like sharing the results of her thoughts: "You know, I don't like people saying they have a bug when they#re sick. Bugs are very useful insects."

J: J came back into the rec room a bit out of breath, but holding 2 large leather cd cases. He walked over to the middle of the floor and opened them up. "Um... I grabbed comedy and horror... I'll let you guys pick which you want to watch..."

Selene: "Where's the difference," Selene asked, giving the CD cases a curious look.

Jason: "Horror, definitely. Maybe something with flesh eating viruses so we can prepare for whatever it is people are hacking around with."

Kitty: "Wow. That's a lot of movies..." Kitty stared.

Rogue: "Cabin Fever, then?"

Adriana: "Do you have 'Arachnophobia'?" She tried to peek at the CDs.

Rogue: Rogue glanced at Adriana, "No. We ain't watchin' that."

Pietro: Pietro hid behind his book again. "Anything's fine for me." He tossed in.

Selene: "Same here," Selene tossed in and pulled her legs up on the chair, sitting cross-legged. "As long as I have this coffee, I'll be easy to please."

J: "Um... " He flipped through the pages, A... Arachn.... never mind.. B.... C..... Cabin Fever... "I have cabin fever...." Then he smiled thinking of the muppets.

Adriana: "You know, I would love if there were spiders as big as buses. I could ride them."

Kitty: Getting up, Kitty came over to inspect the DVD's. "In alphabetical order even. Oh! How about 'Friday the 13th'?" She nodded, grinning. "No creepy spiders!" she added, grimacing.

Rogue: Rogue looked over at Adriana in horror, "Why would ya want to?"

Jubilee: "I don't really care. Just nothing too loud." Jubilee said from her armchair.

Adriana: "No more traffic jams, obviously." She made quite sure that she couldn't gather the slightest how someone couldn't see this on their own.

Jason: "I don't know, a riding spider might be pretty interesting. I imagine you would be able to go quite fast, climb small buildings too."

Selene: Selene glanced over to Adriana and nodded thoughtfully. "They'd be good to fight global warming, as well."

Sam: He stumbled into the room, blinking a little and trying to settle his hair into place when he noticed the crowd. "Oh. Hey. Umm. Was tryin' to find Rogu...oh there you are darlin'."

Rogue: Rogue looked up and held her hand out to him with a soft smile, "Hey sugah. Y'all needin' somethin'?"

Jason: Enemy at the gates! Jason pointed the lysol can at Sam and gave him a good douse.

Rogue: Rogue glared at Jason and stuck her leg out to kick him. "Stop that!"

Sam: "Oh mah God!" He coughed and sputtered as he hacked that out of his lungs. "What the hell?"

Pietro: Pietro looked up and laughed, "Wow, you were serious!"

Kitty: Kitty stared wided eyed at Jason as Sam coughed. "What was that for?"

Adriana: "JayJay thinks you're dirty, Sam."

Rogue: "Jason's paranoid an' doesn't wanna risk catchin' Sam's cold."

Sam: Wiping forlornly at his eyes he sank into a spot near Marie. "Well...Ah'm not. Just got a little cold. Jeepers."

Jason: "I'll be damned if I'm picking up the swine flu or whatever this is." Jason set the bottle aside though, attention going back to the pile of dvds. "Well, may as well-" He cut off, looking up at the flasing lights and the whining beep of one of the alarms. "Well...that's not a good thing." He hoped, of course, it was some drunk student who had completely forgotten what the keycode was.

J: J turned to adriana again and eyed her. his name isn't J... Confusing enough with the other one.... and then turned back to his collection and flipping through it with Kitty.

Selene: "We have swine at the school," Selene asked, curiously looking up when the flu was mentioned. "That's news to me."

Pietro: Pietro nearly dropped his book when they alarm sounded, "Wow that's kinda loud...."

Kraven: Stupid! He had gotten too careless while scouting the grounds! Stupidstupidstupid! Never warn the prey, Kraven, never!

Kitty: Kitty looked up in alarm. "What's that alarm!!"

Sam: Groaning he tossed an arm over his face. "Ah really don't feel like marchin' around in a bunch of weeds and trees for an hour right now."

Rogue: Rogue ran her fingers through Sam's hair and kissed his forehead. "Y'all feelin' alright? Can't slee-" She looked up as the alarm started sounding. "Great."

Jubilee: Jubilee took a sip from her coffee. "Aah.. Sweet cofeine.."

Kraven: He dove into the bushes and waited for the abominations to spill out of their hive...

Selene: Selene made a face at the annoying sound, trying her best to tune it out of her mind. "Is that the swine flu?"

Adriana: "This is a bit loud, isn't it?" She pulled down her hat to cover her ears.

Jason: "Someone's on the grounds." Jason explained, pulling himself up from the sofa. "It's either that or fire...I get those mixed up." He opened the curtains though, unsure. There wasn't any drunk students trying to key in nonsense at the gate though, that he could see.

J: "Is that the fire alarm?... " He asked nervously. "I... All my stuff is still in my room...."

Kitty: "Is that a fire alarm or what?" Kitty also covered her ears and phased for a moment.

Adriana: "Maybe there#s fire on the grounds?," she tried to help Jason.

Rogue: Rogue shifted Sam to lie on the couch as she got up to look out the window too. "Ah don't smell any smoke."

Selene: Selene sipped on her coffee, until the noise finally drove her ouf of her chair. "Probaly swine or boars," she remarked, walking over to the window. "Bringing us the flu."

Sam: "It ain't the swine flu. It's just the dang season for sniffles. Didn't y'all go to a school and have this happen every year?"

Jubilee: "I so hate alarms. Is it even real?"

Jason: "I don't either..." Jason narrowed his eyes, leaning forward. "...did anyone else.." He pointed towards bushes near the edge of the woods that were most certainly still swishing from where someone ran through them.

Adriana: "Can someone switch this off, maybe?"

Selene: "I'm pretty sure this is the first school I've been to; so, no," Selene said, sipping on her coffee once more. "The first school I remember, anyway."

Kitty: "Can someone please turn that off??" She pleaded, still covering her ears and standing up from her spot in the floor.

Rogue: "Swine flu's overrated anyhow. But like Sam said, this is just a cold." She moved to another window, "What was that?"

J: "The sound the alarm for sniffles?" He asked confused, "I didn't go to public schools...."

Pietro: "I'm all for turning it off...." Pietro put his book down and got up, "Should we go out and check or what?"

Selene: Selene peered into the darkness where the others were pointing. "Most likely some kind of animal," she said a moment later. "I hope no evil animals, though."

Rogue: Rogue glanced over at Jason, "Whaddya think?"

Kitty: Kitty stood next to J and the DVD's wishing they would turn the alarm off at least. "Is there someone outside?" she asked over the alarm.

Jason: "We're sure as hell not turning it off if something's out there." Jason looked over to Rogue, confused that anyone would ask his opinion with something like this...but he was the school's expert on paranoia probably. "...it probably is just an animal...the sooner we can prove that the sooner we can shut the alarm off and go back to the movie..." He didn't sound at all sure though. He remembered coming back to the school to the dead animals and cryptic messages though.

Jubilee: Jubilee got up from the armchair. "Well, maybe we should just head outside and wait there for a minute. Or something.."

Sam: "Well if there's someone out there for real, Ah want you in here, darlin'." He gave Marie a firm look.

Selene: "If we go out and check, we'll at least get away from that grating noise," Selene remarked and stepped over towards the door.

Rogue: Rogue turned to give Sam the same look back, "Ah've been doin' this longer than y'all. An' y'all ain't goin' nowhere feelin' like ya are."

Kraven: Kraven sat in the bushes, constantly making crosses while observing the seed of the devil prying out into the darkness. "In the name of the father, the son, and the holy ghost...," he constantly whispered.

Pietro: "Well shall we just go out there and look then?" Pietro wanted the noise to stop as soon as possible.

Sam: He crossed his arms. "Ah'm fine. Ah'm invulnerable when Ah'm blastin', remember? Go right through them, cold or no cold."

Rogue: "Sam." She crossed her own arms and gave him 'the look'.

Jason: "The two of you are the only thing in this room that really count as heavy hitters. I'm thinking both of you might be a good idea if it's not an animal." Jason pointed out. If he was going to go out there there was no way in hell anyone else was getting to stay behind.

Kitty: "I... I guess I could go check... it can't touch me..." Kitty was so alarmed, she was completely phased.

Rogue: "No, hun. Y'all just got here. Wouldn't be right f' y'all ta go out."

Selene: Selene was already out through the patio door, still carrying her mug with coffee, and still lacking any kind of footwear.

Pietro: "Well I guess that answers my question...." Pietro followed Selene.

Rogue: Rogue looked around the room at who all was there, "Jason, Pietro, Jubes, y'all come with me. An' since Selene's already goin'... Her too." She looked at Sam, "Tha rest o' y'all stay here. We'll be right back."

Jubilee: "I'm going outside, anyone else coming?" Jubilee said grabing her hat and jacket.

Adriana: She poked Jason. "I can ask my little friends whether they've seen anything?"

Kitty: Oh thank God! Kitty breathed a sigh of relief that someone thought her going out was a bad idea. "We'll just stay here and hold the fort down."

Rogue: "That's a good idea, Adriana. An' will ya get Sam some tea with fresh honey?" She grinned and headed outside.

Jason: "...crap." Jason couldn't believe he was doing this but he started to follow Selene out. If there was anyone who would wrestle a wild animal it would be her. "What, and if we don't come back they pretend we've just gone out for milk or something?" He nodded to Adriana though, that was definitely a good idea. "Yeah, get the beetle report."

Sam: He went to say something else but then broke into a hacking fit that was pretty spectacular. "Damnit." And all in all, it probably was a squirrel.

Selene: "I take it no one brought a flashlight along," Selene stated, looking over her shoulder when the others followed her outside. "We could still have Sam fly circles over our heads to get some light."

J: J zipped up his collection and held one of the cases to his chest. Mini bolts of lightening seemed to run up and down his bare arms as he rocked back and forth. "Yeah... We can stay here he echoed."

Rogue: "Sam ain't leavin' that couch 'less somethin' really is wrong."

Pietro: "I could run in and get one," Pietro offered, "I won't be long."

Rogue: "Go f' it, Pietro."

Sam: "Well, you be sure to call me, right?" He was miffed, but honestly couldn't come up with enough energy to argue it out.

Kitty: "You know, J. All of a sudden I'm not so much in the mood for a horror movie..." She sat back down and tried to get herself solidified.

Pietro: Pietro zipped inside, found two flashlights in the kitchen which were both working and went back outside. "Have two." He held them out.

Jason: Now outside, Jason sort of wished that he did have the swine flu since it was apparently a 'get out of following whatever in the woods free' card.

Jason: "Leave one with the others in case they do have to follow us after all."

Rogue: "Surely, sugah. Now, rest up," she called back as she got a bit more into the lawn. Rogue took one of the flashlights and flicked it on.

Adriana: She skipped towards the mansion's door and peeked outside. A writhing, darkly glistening mass of carapaces was moving all over the ground. "There is something big out there... " She stopped, as if listening to something. "The mosquitoes say it doesn't taste good."

Selene: "If we're in luck, we could get a real life horror film out here," Selene told the others, leaning in towards them. "Wouldn't that be amazing? Perhaps it's zombie animals."

Pietro: Pietro tossed the other flashlight to J, "Just in case." He said and followed the others again.

Selene: "Sounds like a big zombie animal then," Selene speculated, nodding thoughtfully. "Perhaps a bear. Or a hippo."

Pietro: Pietro gave Selene a slightly bemused look. She really was very odd.

J: "Yeah... Me neither..." J eyed the window, his mind terrified and racing, his eyes went wide as something hit him and he jumped. "Ohpleasedon.... Oh... Thanks..." He finished as he picked the flashlight up.

Adriana: "It#s sweating a lot. And makes grunting noises."

Jason: "...if it's a hippo I'll be oddly relieved."

Pietro: "Hippos kill more people than lions." Pietro told Jason.

Adriana: "Maybe it's an ice bear, like on that show, Lost?"

Pietro: He thought for a moment, remembering another fact, "And they're bullet proof."

Jason: "But cannot be any worse than what I'm imagining. That's one good thing about assuming the worst."

Selene: Selene looked at Adriana, giving the girl a long, thoughtful look. "What if it's Farouk who has stolen away for some private time in the woods with one of the other teachers?"

Rogue: Rogue blinked over her shoulder at Selene, "Y'all really think tha other teachers'd do that with him?"

Adriana: "What other teacher?"

Jason: "...oh God!"

Pietro: "Ohh that was a mental image I didn't need...." Pietro put his face in his hands.

Jason: don't think about it. don't think about it. if you think about it you'll see it. Don't think about it.

Jubilee: "Why would there be any wild animals - or zombie animals, anyways?"

Selene: "Well, maybe not another teacher," Selene agreed, giving a shrug. "Perhaps he simply took the turkey from the fridge..."

Jason: "We have turkey?"

Adriana: "I think he would have to lie on his back for this to work..." She put a finger on her chin and tried to picture it.

Rogue: Rogue about gagged at the thought of that. "Selene? No more."

Pietro: Pietro's eyes widened, "Not anymore...." He answered Jason.

Selene: "If the alternative would be a zombie hippo..." Selene replied, cautiously stepping through the slightly wet lawn. She frowned. "Well, yes, I'm not sure which would be worse, actually."

Rogue: "Zombie hippo is much better."

Jason: Jason picked a long branch up and carefully approached the bushes. They weren't moving any more which was a good sign...he hoped.

Pietro: "So anyone see anything? Assuming we haven't scared the whatever it is away already...." He peered into the darkness ahead of them. "Anything wild would have run surely....?"

Kitty: "So, what now? We just sit here?" Kitty asked, finally desensitized to the loud alarm. "I'm going to see if I can see anything." Cautiously, she crept to the window and peered out, watching the flashlight's beam bobbing around outside.

Kraven: This really wasn't how this had been planned to pan out...oh well, maybe one or two of them would get into one of his traps and be injured. Less to worry about when he finally would carry out his plans...

Jason: "Light up here, please?" Jason asked, preparing to stab at the bushes with his branch.

Rogue: Rogue shone the light over to Jason with an arched eyebrow. "Find somethin'?"

Selene: Selene tried to make out anything beyond the shine of the flashlight, peering at the bush Jason was poking. "Now I wish I had brought something else but this mug with me to defend myself," she whispered.

Jason: He didn't answer, instead, he jabbed at the bush, essentially attacking it. Whatever it was wasn't there anymore though.

Pietro: "Oh I don't know, a mug can be pretty deadly if you aim well." He grinned at Selene.

Kraven: He put one of his knives between his teeth...the metl felt good against his tongue...then he went further into the darkness, leaving nothing behind but a few rustling leaves.

Jason: Jason stopped stabbing, just in time to hear something else. He looked off to the right in the direction of the noise. "I don't suppose that was any of us?"

Jubilee: "Do you see anything?"

Rogue: Rogue turned to the noise, shining the light and squinting, trying to see in the bushes. "Nope.'

Adriana: "I think it has been watching us...and it smells..."

Kitty: "What are they doing out there?" Kitty stood at the window and went up on her tip toes as if that would help her see better. "J, come over here!" She motioned him over.

Rogue: Rogue followed the noise as quietly as she could, trying to get closer and find out what it was.

Jason: "If it was an animal it wouldn't have stuck around so closely, would it?"

J: J cautiously made his way over to the window, clutching the case to his chest to protect him for.. whatever. "What?! What's happeneing? There something out there?..." He asked coming up beside her and looking out to watch the others.

Jubilee: "So, someone is there creeping around and watching us.. Not good.." Jubilee said.

Pietro: "I strongly doubt it, animals are usually long gone..." Pietro knew this because he grew up where there were deer.

Jubilee: "If it is an animal."

Adriana: "Maybe it's rabid?"

Jason: "...that's true. It could be a rabid dog or something. They wouldn't run away."

Rogue: "Jason. C'mere." Rogue pushed through the bushes and looked down at the ground, shining the light on what she found. A foot print. Not animal in nature...

Jason: Jason came over...and there went all home for a rabid dog. "Okay...not good at all." He tried to pretend that didn't look 'left' for them either but couldn't quite shake the feeling.

Selene: "I'm getting bored with this," Selene announced after they all had stared a little longer into the darkness ahead. "The best way to find something is to scare it out of its hiding place. Let's see if we can lure something out." She stepped off towards the bushes and out of the shine of the flashlight.

Rogue: "Selene, don-" Rogue looked up and she was gone. "Dangit. Who wants ta go get her?"

Jason: "Um...nobody?"

Pietro: "I can probably find her faster..." Pietro replied.

Rogue: Rogue arched an eyebrow at Jason, "Ok, Noboby. Y'all're goin' then." She pat him on the shoulder, "Go fetch, hun."

Jason: "...Remind me to spray you with lysol if we get back to the school" Jason started after Selene.

Selene: "Any zombie animals, bloodthirsty monsters or creepy pederasts hiding out here," Selene called out into the darkness, while stepping over the rough ground. Perhaps it hadn't been that wise to walk off without any shoes on.

Rogue: "Ah ain't sick. Hush up an' get goin'." Rogue turned to Pietro, "Y'all should stay here, hun. Know ya fast, but ya kinda like a newbie on tha team, ya know? Not as much trainin'."

Selene: Fate seemed to agree, as a moment later a sharp metallic noise rang through the wood. Selene fell to the ground when something held on to her. A moment later, intense pain flared up in her lower leg. She let out a mix between a scream and a curse.

Pietro: "Who says I need training?" Pietro blinked at her.

Rogue: "Shit." Rogue jerked her head in the direction of the scream, "Selene?" She took off in the direction the scream came from.

Pietro: "Rogue!" Pietro headed after her.

Rogue: "Jason! Where are y'all?"

Kitty: "What was that!?" Kitty peered harder into the darkness. "I thought I just heard somebody scream..."

Selene: "Over here," Selene called out, her voice muffles because she was clenching her jaw. She waved her hand, despite the darkness surounding her. "Something got me." With the free hand, she felt down her hurt leg.

Jason: Shit. Despite being the coward that he is, Jason ran towards that sound. "What the hell-...bear trap?!" He knelt down by her. Yeah, that was a bear trap. "Shit." There went his jacket. "Push down on it. I'm going to try to open the trap." He looked up as he heard Rogue. "Over here!"

Jubilee: Jubilee ran after others.

Rogue: Rogue started running when she spotted them, passing the light to Pietro so he could help Jason open the trap. "Jason, can y'all illusion pain away?"

J: "I don't know... I heard it too.." J rubbed a hand up his arm, feeling the goosebumps growing there.

Selene: "Maybe I can get it to come off..." Selene tried to focus on using her powers on the metal clamp biting into her leg, but the pain and the alcohol in her blood made that almost impossible. Instead, she did anything but holding still and began to tear and pull on the trap, yanking the chain.

Adriana: She ran into the darkness, relying on the insects' sense to not run into trees, until she reached Jason and Selene. "Oh my god!"

Jason: "Yeah, yeah I can." Jason nodded, concentrating on that. "Someone's got to hold her still though."

Jubilee: "What is a bear trap doing here?"

Pietro: Pietro took the flashlight and aimed it at the trap so they could see what they were doing.

Selene: "Let go of me, you bloody..." Selene hissed and tore some more, making everything worse instead.

Rogue: Rogue scrambled at Selene's hands, finally gripping her wrists and holding her still. She looked in Selene's eyes and tried to hold her gaze, "Listen ta me. Ya gonna be fine. But ya need ta calm down, alright? It's all gonna be just fine."

Selene: "I don't want to be calm!" Selene glared back at Rogue and tried to fight the other girl off. "I want to get out of this thing."

Adriana: "Wait, let me try." She concentrated very, very hard. A mass of black carapaces started to pour into the trap, forcing it open bit by bit due to sheer numbers.

Pietro: Pietro passed the torch to Adriana, "Here let me help," He knelt down to help free Selene from the trap, "Selene, stop moving."

Jason: "There, there, you're out." Jason lied but illusioned the trap away so she would believe it more. With the bugs weight it soon was open though...albeit creepily.

Selene: "How's that supposed to help," she called out, staring at the mass of bugs crawling over her hurt leg. "By chewing my leg off!? I could do that myself."

Rogue: "Ah know that. An' we're gonna get it offa y'all." Rogue shifted to sit behind Selene, holding the girls arms tight as she pressed Selene's back to her chest. "But ya hafta be still or it'll get worse."

Jubilee: "Does anyone know any first aid?"

Adriana: "I'm doing what I can!," she shouted at Selene.

Selene: Selene snarled deep in her throat, almost like a hurt animal, while Rogue kept her more or less immobile. Slowly, she was able to force herself to calm down.

Pietro: "I do," Pietro told Jubilee, "Never thought I'd have to use it for something like this though."

Rogue: "Again, Ah get ta say datin' Scott was smart o' me." Rogue looked up at Jason, "Pull her leg out slowly once tha bugs have it free." She shifted the look to Pietro, "Put pressure on her leg with Jason's jacket as soon as it's free."

Jason: "Let's not shout when there could be some crazy guy with bear traps around, okay?" That sounded like a good idea to Jason.

Pietro: "I know, I know." Pietro told Rogue. Preparing the jacket for it's use as a bandage.

Rogue: "Hey, Sel, what's ya favorite color?" Rogue decided to try and get the girl's mind off of what was happening as the others worked on getting her out.

Jason: Jason moved over so that Pietro could have a better angle to keep the pressure on Selene's leg. "Going to start moving on the count of three, one, two, three!"

Selene: "Black, of course," Selene replied after a moment of hesitation, sounding much like a disgruntled child.

Rogue: "Yeah? Got any second favorites?"

Pietro: Pietro wrapped the jacket around Selene's leg as tight as he could and tied it on. "We need to get her to the doctor as soon as possible."

Selene: "Red, I think... or, purple," Selene actually managed to speak more calmly now, her breathing slowing down. That changed when they pulled her leg out. She tensed up and let out deep groan.

Rogue: "Those are good colors." Rogue glanced up at everyone else, "Ah ain't as strong as b'fore... Ah don't think Ah can carry her by mahself. Ah don't want her slippin' inta shock."

Jubilee: "When we get her back to the school we have to clean that wound, I think.." Jubilee said

Pietro: Pietro gave Selene an appraising look then bent and lifted her up.

Selene: "No, we don't," Selene replied, looking back at Pietro. "I'll be fine." She took a deep breath, glancing warily around. "Thanks...," she added, feeling down at her leg with one hand.

Adriana: "Does...does anyone have a cellphone along? Maybe we should call for a teacher?"

Rogue: "Mines in mah room... We need ta get Scott'r Hank ready f' her." She smacked at Selene's hand, "Stop that."

Pietro: "None of that talk. You've been drinking." He told her.

Selene: "Will you stop it now," Selene called out, flailing a bit when she was picked up. "I don't need a doctor. Just get me over to that tree there."

Rogue: Rogue stood slowly, making sure Pietro had her alright. "Doctor. Now. No option."

Rogue: "Y'all got her, Ah'm gonna go in an' let 'em know what's goin' on." She glanced over at Jason, hoping no one else had seen the foot print but them before jogging back up to the house.

Selene: "You guys really want to make this hard for me, don't you?" Selene shot everyone around her a glare. "I just need to fill up one some energy, and I'll be back up and running in no time."

J: "Maybe we should go get a teacher..." He asked turning to Kitty.

Pietro: "Fill up on energy, you mean the caffeine wasn't enough?" He carried her through the trees. He didn't want to risk using his superspeed because he was unsure of the effect it would have on passengers.

Adriana: "Uhhmmm, what kind of energy?"

Jason: "Is seperating really the-" Well, Rogue was gone so that was sort of too late to finish that question. "I think she's talking about some of her power mojo."

Rogue: Rogue pushed open the door and looked at everyone else, "So... Selene was snapped at by a bear trap. Didn't find anybody... Not really..."

Selene: "Caffeine won't do," Selene replied. "Neither will food." She glanced over to Adriana. "The living kind. From plants; or from animals."

J: "Ok... Good... I mean the not finding anybody... not the bear trap..." He looked flustered.

Rogue: She glanced at the couch and saw Sam practically sacked out and still coughing. Poor thing. "Tha others are gonna head back up here ta get her down ta tha med bay in a minute... Ah'm gonna take Sam upstairs." She kissed his forehead then woke him up enough to walk with her to their room.

Jason: "Can you suck the tree?" Jason could not believe he just had a reason to say that sentence.

Adriana: Adriana stepped away from Selene a bit, just in case she would go all Nosferatu on her out of the blue.

Kitty: "Bear trap?!" Kitty looked at Rogue disbelievingly. "We have bears on campus??"

Pietro: Pietro took Selene to a tree as she'd requested earlier. It seemed utterly bizarre to him but if it worked....

Selene: "Yes, I did that before," Selene told Jason. "The bigger and juicer the thing I suck is, the more I get out of it."

Monet: Monet came down rubbing her head, "Bear trap? We do not have bears. And why the hell has someone not shut off the alarm yet? I do not feel well and it's obviously a false one."

Jason: "Then let's get to that." Jason helped her to the tree.

Selene: When Pietro carried her over to one of the trees, Selene immediately reached out and pressed her flat hand against the trunk. No matter how confused or intoxicated she might have been, this side of her power was of such a primal nature that it was like breathing to her. It didn't took long for the bark of the tree to begin shriveling up.

Kitty: "Selene got caught in a bear trap." Kitty annouced. "Why do we have bear traps on the lawn?" She looked the other girl over.

Monet: "She what? Strange girl." Monet wrapped her robe tighter around herself and pulled a hand up to cover her mouth as she coughed. "We don't have bear traps anywhere."

Kitty: "Apperantly we do according to Rogue." Kitty frowned and turned back to the window. "See anything else?"

Jason: "Better then?" Jason just looked at the now very strange looking tree. Yeah, that he wasn't going to get used to.

Monet: Monet joined the others at the window, looking out. "I see them. Pietro is holding Selene and she is sucking life from a tree, it looks like."

J: "I don't see anything..." He said, still looking out hte window intently.

Monet:

Selene: Selene took a few deep breaths as she felt the power of the living tree surge through her body. Closing her eyes, she rested her head against the trunk, which soon started to look quite dead and rotten. "Yes," she said with a low voice. "I'll be fine in a moment. Thank you."

Pietro: Pietro kept hold of Selene, waiting for her to tell him it was safe to put her down.

Jason: Jason was really quite confused at that.

Monet: She frowned, Ah ha. So there was a bear trap.

Monet: "Selene will be fine, Jason says."

Jason: Jason picked up his branch again, looking around to get his bearings again and heading back to where Rogue had found the track in the first place. Maybe there would be something else around there.

Selene: "Just help me get inside, please," Selene said, feeling her leg start to heal up already. "I spilled my coffee when I stepped into the trap."

Kitty: "Oh...well that's good..." Kitty frowned again. "What do you mean 'he says'?"

Jubilee: "We propably better get back to school and talk more about this there, with no bear traps."

Pietro: "No problem." Pietro told Selene, "Want me to put you down?"

Monet: Monet sniffed and wiggled her nose at the odd feeling of it being stuffy, then looked over at Kitty, "I'm a telepath, darling."

Monet:

Jason: Ahha, there the track was. Jason focused on it, trying to share the image with Monet.

Selene: "Yes, I'll be able to make it back on foot," Selene replied. She carefully put some weight on her hurt leg when Pietro set her down.

Pietro: Pietro smiled at Selene, "Well, you're just full of surprises."

Kraven: Kraven came close to where the demons had been just a few moments ago. Everything was trampled down like a herd of elephants had passed through. They wouldn't prove a a big obstacle.

Monet: Monet frowned, "There's a foot print out there.. Human. Jason's letting me see his mental picture of it."

Kraven: Slowly he kneeled down where the girl had been lying. Yes, blood had gotten spilt. He scooped up sme of it with his knive and licked it. Sweet...

Selene: "What can I say, I always try my best to keep things from getting dull and boring," Selene replied, managing a small smirk. She hobbled back to the patio and held on to the door frame. "Where can I get a fresh coffee," she asked the students in the recroom. "Possibly with a shot of rum this time. I think I need that."

Monet: Monet looked out the window again,

Jason: Jason turned around..."Guys...oh son of a bitch."

Kitty: "Oh my God!" Kitty cried as she watched Selene come back in. "What happened out there??"

Monet: Monet started coughing again and moved to sink onto the couch. Apparently her healing factor was taking a vacation...

Adriana: "I...I don't know how to make coffee, Selene..." Adriana fiddled with her hands, eager to help, but unable to actually do anything.

Pietro: "I'll get you some coffee," Pietro told Selene, "You just take a seat."

J: J ran to the kitchen for coffee, "I'll get it... I'll be right back..."

Jubilee: "Jason, I'm just few meters ahead of you.."

Selene: "I kinda misstepped," Selene told Kitty, giving the new girl a wry smile. "Actually, I got bitten by a metal trap."

Jason: "Good." Well, there was someone at least. "I guess we'll be using your fireworks for the flashlight then." Jason started to pick his way back to the house, definitely wanting out of the woods.

Monet: "Get me some tea, J, if you would."

Kitty: "Well, you-you should sit down or...something?" She motioned Selene to the chair Kitty had been sitting in earlier.

Pietro: Seeing as J beat him to the door, Pietro sat down.

Selene: "Thank you, but I'll be fine in a moment," Selene replied, but took the offered sear nonetheless. She was feeling kinda wobbly.

Monet: "Selene? Might I see the bottom of your right foot?"

Kraven: Oh, this wasn't good...The noisy boy came closer and closer to one of his resting places...and this was the one he had left his dinner at...

Jubilee: "Mmh.. Not bad idea at all." Jubilee answered and let her sparkles or fireworks free.

Jason: Stepping into another small clearing, Jason cringed as he saw bones, oddly clean bones as if they had been gnawed and licked clean on one end and still a bit of meat clinging to the rest. Jason sent that image back to Monet as well.

Monet: Monet saw the image and immediately felt a bit ill beyond her cold.

J: J made it to the kitchen to find the half a pot of coffee already made. He poured it into a thermos he found in the cupboard and started to look for tea. Did she want sweet tea... or the english tea... He thought for a moment, and just went with what was made. Pouring a glass and heading back to the rec room with both in hand.

Selene: "Why," she asked Monet, but raised her foot anyway. "Is it because I walked in without wiping my feet first?"

Monet: "No." Monet studied the bottom of Selene's foot and thought about the image Jason had sent, "Yes, your foot is too small to make that print. Merci." She looked up at J and arched an eyebrow, "I have a cold. Hot tea is what I need, imbecile."

Jason: Mangled animal carcasses, yeah, this was definitely looking like whoever it was that was in the school last semester. Jason decided that it would be best to circle around what looked disconcertingly like a fireless camp. That was a bad idea as the next step he took turned out not to have ground under it. "Shit!"

Pietro: "You should try tea with honey - works wonders for colds." Pietro told Monet.

Jubilee: "We really should get back right now." Jubilee said to Jason.

Selene: "Thank you," Selene said as she took the offered mug of coffee. "I think he did well," she told Monet.

Monet: "Yes. That is what I wanted, Pietro. Apparently, J doesn't know that." She looked up as she felt a bit of panic from Jason's mind.

J: "I.. You didn't say... I'm sorry..." He carried the glass back to the kitchen with a dejected look.

Kitty: "Hey!" Kitty twirled around. "Didn't your parents ever teach you any manners!"

Monet: Monet held up a hand to Kitty, "Not now." She got up and headed to the window again.

Kraven: Excellent, the boy had "found" another one of his little traps. This one wouldn't kill him, but most surely break his mind...especially when he'd use the little thing he had caught earlier for tomorrow's lunch...

Kitty: "No wonder everyone told me to avoid you like the plague!" Kitty sniffed at Monet and followed J into the kitchen.

Jason: Jason blinked and looked up from where he was now finding himself laying more than a bit dazed. This...was one hell of a hole...manmade hole. Manmade crawling hole! Jason struggled to stand up, swearing as that quite hurt in and of itself and also at the bite at his shoulder

Selene: "To answer your question, no, they didn't," Selene said, leaning over to Kitty and showing a small smirk already. "Not that mine did - or I'd remember them doing that -but I got better anyway."

J: Was just trying to be nice... He thought as he started to make another pot of tea.

Kraven: He snuck towards a tree where a small bag was hanging down from a branch, making wrigling movements that didn't indicate something docile on the inside.

Pietro: Pietro looked over to Monet at the window, "What's the matter?"

Monet: "Jason... Something about rats."

Kraven: Making sure no one was around, he came closer to the pit, peeking over it to catch a look of the vermin in there...and he didn't mean the rats.

Kitty: "Don't you dare make that witch any tea!" Kitty demanded to J watching him get the tea bags ready. "She well enough to insult people, she's well enough to make it herself." She put her hands on her hips defiantly.

Pietro: "Rats?" Pietro blinked at her, "Where is he?"

Monet: "I don't know. Adriana, will you have your bug friends find Jason, please?"

Jason: Jason grabbed ahold of the rat that had latched onto his shoulder, throwing it back to the ground and made a grab for the side of the hole, not able to reach the edge of it.

Monet: "He's in a pit somewhere... We don't have any pits. Do we?"

Jubilee: Jubilee let sparks grow into real fireworks hoping others would see where she and Jason where.

J: "Yeah... But..." He looked caught between a rock and a hard spot. "I mean I should have known she wanted hot tea..." He put the bags in the hot water.

Jason: Jason looked up as he realized that the shadow over him wasn't actually the trees or (unfortunately) Jubilee or another student. Jason tried to send the image back of the...disgusting and possibly crap covered man and the...bag?

Monet: Monet saw the sparks far off and went out onto the patio to see without the glass in her way.

Kitty: "How? You a telepath too?" She shook her head at him. "Bet she doesn't even say thank you..."

Adriana: Giving a predatory grin to the victim down there that actually managed to slightly sparkle in the pale moonlight, he dropped the bags contends and then hurried away into the bushes again.

Monet: Monet's eyes went a bit big at the image of the man.

Monet: Monet shivered a bit and tried to wrap up in her robe a bit more. It wasn't even all that cold out. Stupid illness.

J: "Well.. Yes... but she's sick... And when I'm sick mom gave me hot honey lemon tea..." He said turning towards her as it made.

Selene: Selene wasn't in the proper mental condition to add anything of sense or reason to the telepathic link between Jason and Monet, so she decided to take a sip of her coffee instead. Frowning a little, she wished it would contain more potent alcohol.

Jubilee: "Jason, where are you? Can you hear me?" Jubilee called out.

Jason: Jason had no idea how to answer Monet's questions. He was a bit preoccupied with what had just been dropped in with him, a very angry raccoon. "SON OF A BITCH!"

Monet: Shit!

Kitty: "And did you ever call her an imbecile if she didn't bring you exactly what you wanted?" She cocked her head at J.

J: "No. She's my mom... She would ground me if I called her names." He said, just then the whistle went off making him jump a bit.

Jason: He tried to get a foothold to pull himself up but everytime he found something solid it moved or bit and, well, the raccoon from the bag was definitely not helping matters at all.

Jubilee:

Monet: Monet poked her head back inside. "Adriana. Bugs. Now would be good."

Monet:

Pietro: Pietro looked out the window and saw the fireworks over the trees "What's all that?" He followed Monet out onto the patio for a better view.

Adriana: "Ack!" She had been a bit absent-minded, trying to get this paradox situation into her head. But now that someone asked her to act, everything was easy again.

Monet: "Jubilee is out there with Jason. I want her to come back inside. Jason's stuck in a pit. Sinister, evil looking animal of a man has him trapped."

Selene: "Ooh, we must have a celebration," Selene remarked upon looking up and out of the window, spotting Jubilee's bright fireworks in the distance. She put down her cup and clasped her hands in excitement. "How marvelous."

Adriana: She ran out of the door, beetles and ants and everything crawly writhing between her feet during every step, until she reached the place where her little soldiers told her there was someone "good tasting in a hole".

J: J finished making the tea, "Maybe she's just grumpy cause she is sick... If it makes her feel better she'll be nicer." He reasoned out and headed back to the rec room with it.

Adriana: "Jason...?" She peeked into the hole. "Are...are you in there?"

Monet: Monet watched Adriana go and ran a hand over her face with a frustrated noise. "Not what I meant!"

Kitty: Kitty followed him back out into the rec room. "Yeah...maybe..."

Jason: The swearing was probably a good indication that yes, Jason was in the hole.

Monet: Monet pulled the robe's belt tight and flew off after them.

Adriana: "I...I could send some beetles in there to lift you up, would that be okay?"

Pietro: Pietro frowned after Monet, leaning against the doorframe. Now how were they supposed to know what was happening?

Selene: "Angry raccoon?" Selene perked up as she caught Monet's psychic broadcast. "Can we keep it?" She aslo relayed that message telepathically.

Monet: Monet glared mentally at Selene.

Jason: "Yes! That would be more than okay! That would be fan-fucker!"

Pietro: "Angry racoon?" Pietro turned to look at Selene.

Jason: Jason swung his branch he had found in the sea of rats and raccoon. At least he could hit it. It didn't make it any less angry but he could hit it!

Selene: Selene shrugged and took another sip.

Adriana: "Okay..." She sent millions of insects down the hole, intending to just carry Jason upwards. She had to be careful though, or he could drown in beetles...

J: J looked around, and not seeing Monet sighed and sat the tea down. "Well... no use now anyway..." J made his way over to one of the chairs and curled up in a ball. I'm useless... All this crazy stuff happening and I can't even do anything to help....

Monet: Monet finally reached Jubilee and Adriana and looked down into the pit at Jason. "You seem to be in a bit of trouble there, darling."

Selene: "Apparently Jason's at the zoo," Selene told the others inside the recroom. "Or something like that. But theit petting zoo seems to be of a really lousy quality."

Jason: Jason didn't answer, instead he focused on staying on top of the bugs and then grabbed onto the edge of the pit.

Pietro: Pietro had to laugh then, he crossed the room and sat down again.

Monet: Monet settled on her knees and took Jason's hand, pulling him easily from the edge of the pit. "And you without your lysol."

Jubilee: "Uum.. Can I stop with these sparkles/fireworks now?"

Monet: "Yes. Merci, Jubilee. They were very helpful."

J: J got up after a moment of self loathing and headed back to his bed room. They dont need me anyway, don't even like me besides Kitty... He thought as he walked down the hall, eyes almost starting to tear up at the realization.

Jubilee: "Thank's. Is Jason allright?"

Adriana: She reached out to Jason. "Can you get out yet?"

Monet: Monet arched an eyebrow at Jason, "He's never alright. He's quite screwed up mentally."

Selene: "I think Jason fell into another trap," she told Pietro, after watching J and Kitty leave. "And I promise I don't have anything to do with it this time. Or... any other time, for that matter."

Jason_: Jason grabbed onto the hand and pulled himself up, very glad to be on ground that didn't involve rats or raccoon. "I don't think lysol would do much as far as rabies but it would have helped.

Pietro: "I should hope not," Pietro told Selene with a smirk, "But the fireworks seemed to have stopped, so that's probably a good sign..."

Selene: "Or a bad one," Selene tossed in, peering out of the window while holding on to her mug.

Pietro: "Yeah I was trying not to think like that...." Pietro picked up his book again, "Think I'm going to go find out why none of the staff seem interested in the cause of the noise...."

Monet: "I meant because you seem so intent on spraying me every time you come near me and now you're touching my bare hand."

Jason: "Well, hopefully we'll both live." Jason laughed shakily.

Monet: "Of course we will. My healing factor should get rid of this annoying cold soon enough." She looked Jason over and gave him a careful hug. "Are you alright?"

Jubilee: "Are we going back to school now that Jason's out of that pit?"

Pietro: Pietro headed for the door then stopped and looked back at Selene, "Don't forget to give Jason his jacket back." He left.

Monet: "Oui, I think that's a wise decision."

Jason: "I-" That was just confusing. Jason didn't say anything though because this was a time when it was nice to get a hug. "I'm a bit...nibbled but should be fine. Thank you."

Selene: "Good idea," Selene ageed with Pietro and nodded. "I guess they wouldn't want to miss out on that." She felt down her injured leg, which had already helaed up completely by now. "If he wants it back now," she said, holding up the jacket.

Monet: "

Jubilee: "Good to hear."

Selene: Selene looked around, finding herself alone all of a sudden. With no one to send off to fetch a warm blanket, she would have to improvise.

Selene: Looking around for something suitable, she stood and fetched one of the blankets stored underneath the couch. Selene took off towards the kitchen, blanket tucked under her arm.

Jubilee: "I think first thing I'll do when we get back I'll go to sleep.." Jubilee murmured.

Jason: Jason had never been more glad to get indoors in his life. "I have to admit, when I was thinking about horrible things that could happen, I obviously missed one." He had to laugh at Jubilee's choice though. "Don't think I'm going to go to sleep right off...don't really want to dream about that."

Jubilee: "I don't blame you."

Monet: Monet blinked as she watched Selene head towards the kitchen, "Come back here."

Monet: Monet helped Jason to the couch then sunk onto it herself, closing her eyes for a moment before a coughing fit caught up with her. "Adrenaline only helps so long apparently."

Selene: "I thought you wanted warm blankets," Selene asked, standing in the doorway to the kitchen. "Let me heat those up real quick for you. Both of you look like you'd need it."

Monet: "They would catch fire in the oven, Selene."

Monet: Monet rubbed at her head, "Can someone please turn off that damned alarm yet?! Merde. I already had a headache the size of Manhattan."

Selene: "So, they'd be really warm and cozy, at least." Selene shrugged and carried the blankets back to the couch. "Oh well. You two look horrible, by the way. I could fetch some drugs for us. I mean, for you."

Jubilee: "I'm going to kill the alarm and and then I really will go to sleep."

Jason: "Mm, just a minute." Jason pulled himself off of the sofa and made his way to the closest keypad and put his code in. "That's better" He thought for a minute though and keyed in another code, putting everything on 'high alert' so to speak. "Drugs would be nice." He admitted, slumping back into the sofa.

Monet: "Drugs haven't helped yet. Besides, it would be too early to try any more. I took some not even two hours ago." Monet slid to lie down on the sofa, curling up so she wouldn't kick Jason. "I just need to... sleep..." She shivered once and let out a deep breath, turning into another cough. "Dieu."

Selene: "I'm sure I'll have some leftover pills in one of my bags," Selene announced with a nod. "I shall go look for them. They'll make you feel better right away. Besides, I think I'll need some, too. Didn't plan on almost getting my legs chopped off tonight, after all."

Jubilee: "Oh well, I'll just head to my bed now. Good night."

Monet: "Bonne nuit, Jubilee. Merci again."

Jason: "Bye. Sorry we tried to get everyone killed." Jason half waved, slumping back further, not completely positive he wasn't in shock.

Selene: "Sleep tight," Selene called after Jubilee and waved a hand. "Don't dream of raccoons." She turned back to the others, a questioning look on her face. "Speaking of which, do you think it will be back? What if it tries to get revenge?"

Monet: "I wouldn't be worried about the raccoon, Selene. That wasn't the main problem..." She shared the image of the man with Selene. "He is our problem."

Selene: Selene stepped over to the window and peered out into the darkness. "I think someone should stay awake and be on watch tonigh, just in case."

Jason: "That man, I think he's living out there...don't know what we're going to do about it. The security's all set up though." Jason snorted. "I was even supposed to be on patrol now. Guess I was."

Selene: Selene frowned as the image of the rugged, muddy man appeared inside her mind. "Who is that..." she wondered. "Some kind of rabid hobo?" She huffed and shook her head. "Yes, I think I'll definitely stay on watch."

Monet: "Good. Because I don't think I can keep my eyes open much longer." She coughed again and closed her eyes. "Bonne nuit," she murmured after another cough.

Jason: "Bonne nuit." Jason mumbled, already mostly passed out.

Selene: Selene strolled over to where Jason and Monet were falling asleep, putting on a smile as she perched on the chair across from them. "Oh, don't you worry about a thing while you take a rest," she said with a quiet voice. "You're in good hands."

Jason: ((That is delightfully creepy.))

Monet: ((oui. :shifty))

Jason: ((and then Selene kills them all and feeds them to the raccoon!))
