The Count Chocalypse

This is a logo I did up (with some linework help from Bamfette) for my fantasy football team, The Count Chocalypse:

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

I think many people probably feel the same way. However, I personally would be just fine with Darkholme being a permanent addition to 616, replacing "our" Kurt, so long as he's handled well. If he follows in Kurt's footsteps, I won't be happy at all. I would rather they bring back 616 Kurt...

Mua ha ha! We have a convert! Hopefully by this time next week, you'll be a bigtime Apollo / Midnighter fan. Of course, the Engineer may be more to your liking.

LB & Nacht> You guys should pick up Stormwatch #1 next week. Then you'll see why we drool all over these two characters. ;)

I never in a million years...

Wow! Great job, Lisa! I can't imagine running that far, especially in New Orleans. Humidity and I are not on speaking terms, ever since I discovered that he wants to drown me with air and keep me from being able to cool myself down. Seriously, Humidity, what's your problem? And 13.1 miles? Yesterday...

The Great 2011 DC Relaunch - 52 New #1's in September

The relaunch is a big, risky endeavor. It's right to be cautious and to question it. Doom crying is another thing altogether. Doom crying is "I don't like it, so it will fail." However, from my perspective, something like this relaunch had to happen. The comics industry is slowly dying and...

Digital Comics -- Can They Make The Leap?

After a long conversation with Bamfette and reading Darkholme's post above, I realized just how much I don't want more single issues hanging around my house. I haven't read a single issue format comic book more than once in roughly 15 years, despite having way too many of them hanging around. If I l...

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

Yeah...it looks metallic, but like Bamfette said, there no purpose to it. I mean, I can't figure out for sure what it is. Of course, they may have anticipated this exact conversation, basically, and put a vaguely demon tail shaped lamp in there just to mess with people watching for Nightcrawler. ;) ...

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

So Uncanny X-Force #14 came out yesterday. Good stuff. No Nightcrawler...or was there? At the end of issue 13, AoA Jean cast the team back through the portal into the 616 universe. Immediately, I went "Wait! Did Darkholme come, too?" Then issue 14 came out and...no. He didn't. Probably. We...

The DC Apollo drawing is what made me warm to his new costume. It seemed so non-sensical until I saw your version of it. I'm still not a fan of the booties, but you hid them enough for me. ;) I love the composition and motion you managed to get out of a static image. He really seems to be moving thr...

My Big Three X-books

I'm not going to post any super fancy pictures, but here are My Big Three X-Books of All-Time. It is also my top x-books of the last decade, as the only one I've read and want to mention is my number one over all. Think of it as my posting my top book of the decade with a bonus of my top book of the...

Thundercats Reboot

The fish people episode was pretty awesome. The "water that's not water" thing was a little weird (maybe I missed something?), but it was FISH PIRATES. On that note, I really like that there's an abundance of appearances from the other races of Third Earth / Thundera. It's not Sslythe as t...

The New 52: Justice League

Now, for full disclosure, I am not and have not ever really been a Justice League fan. I like the idea of it, being the world's mightiest heroes and a guy in a bat costume, but I've never really gotten into the book. Even when I was a big fan of the animated versions, my favorite episodes were when ...

Digital Comics -- Can They Make The Leap?

Bamfette and I have been reading What do you REALLY know about comics? , a blog wherein the author interviews random non-comic-people about what they know about comics, what kind of stories they like to watch/read, and then gives them suggestions on comics to check out. Almost every single one that ...

A Sincere Concern

Hopefully we're on the road to recovery here. I know that a lot of people that had wandered away would pop in from time to time to see if things had picked up and maybe get some stuff going, but with a small population, it's really hard to get things to become self-sustaining conversation. Message b...

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

I'm sure the original 616 Nightcrawler will be back...someday. It's just the way of comics. However, for now, replacing him with AoA Nighcrawler is preferable to a resurrection, IMO. Not just because AoA is my personal favorite, but because we're still too close to all the baggage and weirdness and ...

Definitely! He streamlined the characters very well, keeping what's important to the story and shedding what's not. He's also take a full team of characters that, under a poor writer, could be seen as similar and would possibly be written as a team of sameiness, and he's given each one a very distin...

AoA Nightcrawler (Darkholme) in Uncanny X-Force Teaser Image

So far, in Uncanny X-Force, this version of Kurt has been brash and charming and funny and still a bit ruthless. I think he'll fit right in with the team, but I also trust Remender to keep him unique in a team full of funny ruthless characters. Beyond that, the reason I feel that this is the *right ...

The Psylocke / Fantomex ...issue...was handled very well, I think. They're both broken people and unsure of what they do and don't want. Fantomex is also a master at mindgames, manipulation, and reading people, even when not using his powers. Calling her out on her co-dependency was a total dick mov...

The Great 2011 DC Relaunch - 52 New #1's in September

Bruce and Damian are the duo in the new Batman & Robin. I would suspect that the majority of the continuity there is staying. As far as I know, all four Robins still exist, still are active, and were still Robin at some point. Dan DiDio has explained the Robin role as "sort of an internship...
