Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

Darkholme was brought in under the design concept imagery of the original Nightcrawler, but in an edgier version, to fit with the current Marvel trend. If I'm not completely mistaken, the concept of Darkholme was based on 616 Kurt in the latter part of the Excalibur run -- the sabre and loincloth e...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

Regarding Wagner's death, I feel that every opportunity Marvel had to make it really powerful and relevant was already blown. It could have resulted in the disbanding of X-Force, if Wolverine was actually thinking instead of just stabbing stuff. It could have been the cause of Schism. (Heck, Kurt c...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

I say give his death some time to really be relevant. When his absence is a constant sting, evident in the writing and the characters' reactions, his absence should bring about his return. Ok, not sure if this is off-topic or on, continuing the relevance of death concept, but I suppose it ties in.....

:) Aw, you got my hopes all kind of up with that earlier comment. Yeah, I expect any creator gets a ton of questions, if they put themselves out there.

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

If twitter allowed more than 140 characters, I bet it would've been. :P=== So what was it? Anything good? Here are some I've gotten from Marvel, regarding Nightcrawler: "While Nightcrawler has passed on, the world of X-Men continues to move forward with many characters who would be deemed to l...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

Responded. I want everyone to know that as a fan, nothing is more important to you than your character and I promise you Marvel knows that. They sometimes pretend to forget, maybe they even do, but it's in their best interests to remember that and don't be afraid to remind them. That's why they're ...

I've tweeted at him about 3x today, @Remender I don't mean to pry for spoilers, but we sort of have no 'Crawler left. Is Darkholme sticking around? Any plans? #Darkholme4Life @Remender I can't stand the idea of #KidCrawler being the only Kurt left. Darkholme has so much potential. I'm psyched to se...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

Well, good writing would insist that Darkholme kill Blob and not hold back his weapon, as you would suggest then. Being the proper objective is to salvage Evan and make a decent character out of him in the future. Your point is very decent, you can't change one and not the other. It says something ...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

Or they want you to be skeptical and curious to see where he'll appear. I'm not sure enough people have showed an interest in Darkholme to bother with that one. but I really think where this is going is Logan/Darkholme development. I see Logan stopping him from killing Blob to set an example for Ev...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

Yep. To be honest though, I'd rather see the character go full Brotherhood and be shown with Mystique in the future rather than the thing get turned around and Remender make him into another Nightcrawler who dies to impact Wolverine's character development. As in, being a traitor was a ruse and Kurt...

should you accept this mission....

Slarti, or any other moderator, I hope it's all right for me to post this here. I know activity on the Nightcrawler forum board is mostly non-existent these days, and I wanted to try really hard to get this message out one more time. I suppose if I've broken rules, delete away. :) I'm posting this i...

Re: Campaign to Bring Back Kurt Wagner

It has been suggested that we write in and politely talk about what we miss about the character, and plea for his return. For those of us who've done so, it can be disheartening, as is the direction Marvel has headed since then. A lot of people will complain on forums, or even stop buying the books,...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

It seems pretty lame to kill another Nightcrawler off so soon, but we'll see. He's definitely not in either line-up for the two X-Force books. Rather than death or comic limbo, I'd rather see them maybe make him join the Brotherhood with Mystique. *ducks flying objects* I have my reasons. 1. The opt...

We'll see where it goes, and if yet another version of Nightcrawler is going to be killed off to further Wolverine's character development. A new creative team may well mean a new cast line-up.

If people have never watched Errol Flynn movies, they are a real treat, then again, I'm an old film buff. ;) At least speaking for me and mine, part of Nightcrawler's appeal over the years is that people of any race, ethnicity or orientation can identify with him. He doesn't fit into any known conce...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

I don't remember there being an explanation, just that the serum was derived from Wade's early DNA (before he got his healing factor, etc). Also, it looks like Wolverine will be off UXF after the Final Execution arc. Would be great if Darkholme would end up leading the team afterwards, since that wa...

Re: X-Treme X-Men

My main problem with using a child version of Nightcrawler (or any of the other X-Men, for that matter), is that it limits character development in the extreme (or should I say X-Treme?). Any swashbuckling will fall into the realm of "cute". Gone is the roguish flirt. Gone is the potential...

Read the first one, won't buy a second. Dazzler is a huge miss for me. She's the disco version of Pixie, so any title with that much focus on her is going to grate on my nerves. Emmeline acted like Emma, Howlett acted like Wolverine (with better sideburns). Worst of all, Kid Kurt was portrayed exact...

Re: Uncanny X-force Thread

At least Darkholme had some dialogue in #28 and even showed some concern for something other than revenge. I'm indifferent about the addition of EVA so far -- I wasn't a huge fan of Fanto, but I didn't hate him, either. Whatever happened to Bets won't be permanent. Remender is far too focused on her...
