Cockrum's art in "DC HEROES" sourcebooks ?

Sorry, to the best of my knowledge, I had no part in any of those sourcebooks. I did do a few entries in DC's Who's Who--Captain Marvel Jr., the Blackhawks (a 3-pager), the Fadeaway Man, and I think, a Legionnaire or two.

Don't know about any search engines. Sorry.

Dave Doc Savage strip

I wasn't aware of a Woody Allen strip. And Justice League of America?!? I'm pretty sure that was never syndicated here in the States. The US comic strip readership g enerally considered superheroes 'too juvenile'. Superman, Batman and Spiderman had some success, but that's it. Alex Raymond was, of c...

Dave Doc Savage strip

I gave the entire set of original strips to the late Mark Hanerfeld, who wrote the strip under a pseudonim I no longer recall, except that the last name was Dent (after Lester Dent, the original writer of the Doc Savage stories). I've been told that some of the strips have turned up recently on Heri...

Paty is as picky about horses as I am about aircraft or dinosaurs. Or the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Gil Kane's horses weren't so much horses as the *spirit* of horses. You looked at his horses and you KNEW that's what horses SHOULD look like. Sorry, but you have so much knowledge I want to get...

Regarding Sunfire--we never meant to keep him in the X-Men. He was included in the original 'New' X-Men for color and interest, but as we saw that first adventure as an 'entrance exam', we always intended to have a couple candidates 'flunk out'. We were going to flunk Thunderbird and Banshee, too, b...

You might be interested to know that the 'put enough lines down and some of them have to be in the right place' was a crack Byrne made on his own website about ME. That crack so infuriated Paty that she asked the editors of the Dave Cockrum Tribute Book to ban Byrne from inclusion in the book. I sho...

I will admit that Xavier 'noodged' Kitty Pryde's parents into letting her go to tge school. itty's father was angry about something, and Xavier tweaked him into calming down. I don't really agree that he manipulated Storm, but it's possible. Maybe he did manipulate Colossus--a young Soviet with supo...

If Professor X was the sinister mind-manipulatorr that Paty believes him to be, Jean would have married him instead of Scott.

Don't try to get me involved in this donnybrook. Paty's eyesight may be more limited than mine, but she has her CCTV to help her read. I have to settle for a bright light and a hand-held magnifying glass, and it ain't fun, believe me. Except for keeping up with 'Strangers in Paradise', it's been a c...

My day with the Cockrum's

Somewhere on this forum is a thread with a couple of shots of my Pekinese, Tootsie, when she was a puppy. We're very fond of Tootsie and our St. Bernard, Thor (who is the sweetest big ol' mutt you ever met--). Unfortunately, Paty has a war of dominance going with Tootsie. Each of them insists on bei...

One thing I got a big charge out of was a poster up at the firehouse, urging firefighters to wear their Scott packs--anti-smoke breathing gear--and featuring a firefighter in gear standing alongside Clayton Moore, the original Lone Ranger, in full costume. The copy on the poster said 'AMERICA'S HERO...

In defense of Superman and Lois' behavior toward each other, he's just returned to Earth afcter five years, hving left with not one word of explanation to Lois. Naturally, she's stand-offish. I should point out that I gave Phoenix an outfit that covered her whold body, and I was one of the group of Marvel staffers who pressured editorial into closing the bare belly in the original Ms. Marvel costume. Granted I had some bare midriff showing on Storm, but personally, I think it's an elegan...

To some degree, kidneys fail because of all these other problems--but also, some of these othger problems develop because my kidneys are failing. It's a catch-22 situation. Mostly, my diabetes kicked off the kidney failure. One of my kidneys does'n't work at all; the other one works a little. This i...

Actually, I do have a website. It's officialdavecockrum.com. A friend of ours maintains it, and I'mafraid I don't check in very often. At the moment I'm not set up to sell prints from it, but I'll see what I cn do.

She's NOT 'just a nagging wife', dammit...I value Paty's advice and opimiom a ;ot more than she'll admit to. But she's made a big deal over the years about 'her being dumb enough to marry me makes her too dumb to listen to' and I think now she believes it. And I'm doing the exercises, and riding an ...

No, sorry, I won't. I have to travel with oxygen supplies, and I would have to arrange to have dialysis facilities at the convention end. I can't travel to any show that I can't do between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening, and travel by car.

I'm very unhappy about some of what I've heard about the way they're treated--although I have to admit that I haven't read any ooks in over a year thanks to my eye problems. Ditto to artist styles.
