X-Men: 2nd Coming (SAY WHAAAA)
Also, Fraction's perspective on the story seems to be that he thinks it's going in a great direction. Somehow, I doubt Yost or the others feel that way, but they're not the lucky-ducks who get to write "Uncanny X-Men" are they? : Fraction seems to be on a very High-Horse, and I some how f...

X-Men: 2nd Coming (SAY WHAAAA)
The truth is, about a year and a half ago I completely lost track of what the X-Men were up to because the characters seemed so hollow and wooden I just didn't care about them anymore. That's just Fraction's writing style. Some of the other books are better, not that I've been reading those regular...

Judging by my friends who dated military, I should be married and knocked up within the year.

It will be super funny if after all that talk about rising up from your grave, he doesn't.Wahnsinn wrote:There was plenty of talk among the characters that could be taken as foreshadowing his eventual resurrection, though.

I suppose that second option is a validation of faith. Sort of. God is real, hooray! *snort* Coming back as a tested man of faith of fine, but I'd rather see more. Tested and found wanting for not being a man, you mean! I can't imagine his reaction to finding that God is real but doesn't want him w...

Drastic, your definition of faith is far too narrow. Faith validated and confirmred with knowledge is not destroyed, but strengthened. Faith is also not just belief. It's trust and confidence, which are not to be given out blindly. I don't think I said anything about validating his faith. I said he...

In a way, I've been mourning Nightcrawler for years. Sing it, sister. Maybe it's going to take losing Nightcrawler to put some real vengence behind the actions of the other X-men What! What! They already started going after and assassinating villains, how much more vengeful can they get? That was a...

Maybe "tone it down" would have been acceptable before but HE'S DEAD. Death is a chance for big changes! They can bring him back any which way, plus there's the incredibly likely possiblity that a resurrection would conflict with his.... stuff . Faith is about not knowing. Last time they w...

BUT--I am fairly certain Layla Miller can teleport between worlds. I'm pretty sure it was something just preposterous like that. What? No. She was sent to the future by.. Forge? Somebody. Some technology thing. And then she stayed longer than expected. It isn't any special power of hers, unless I m...

More Austen's will come, and they will continue to botch him with religious dialogue that most comic readers will be turned away from, killing our Blue Fuzzy Fanbase. I already have about 6 friends who avidly read comics who DO NOT read anything Kurt related BECAUSE of how he has been written in th...

Finding out isn't difficult, but it isn't especially interesting ever. Given the choice between researching something really complicated and controversial and trying to work it into a story with a dozen other characters, or using a different character, what are most writers going to do? They have de...

It wouldn't occur to a normal person that cremation might be a problem. Even with that, writers might be able to research all this stuff, but I don't see any writers at the funeral. It's a group of warriors honouring a dead comrade the best way they know how during a short break in the battle. I thi...

The Scott hate is all a little weird to me. I think the character really started to change in Ultimate X-Men. That is when Cyclops got cool, and this coolness worked its way into all the other versions of his character too. I don't want him to die. There are years of quality character development th...

I know some folks who were clinically dead IRL (like that _Life After Life_ stuff) and most of them felt they had a choice to come back. None of them wanted to return to this vale of tears, but each had obligations and so zipped back into their bodies. You need a body to come back to with this one....

Also, his (heroic) death should be the end of the story-arc. Its paroxysm. Not the midlle of the show. Not something you throw out to regain the readers's interest. I have to admit, this is the main reason I think he's coming back sooner than later. It was a largely meaningless way to go, and compl...

Well, I don't think the problem with the current batch of X-Writers is passion or talent. They are an excellent group of writers. (Except Fraction, but he's at least okay.) They (most recently Diablo) say it's not the character that is important but the writer, but he was pushed and pulled in too ma...

He handled it a lot better than the majority of Nightcrawler-related plot points have gone down over the last decade or two. It was decided he had to go, and I think they (Yost and Kyle) did an excellent job with that requirement.

Wow, and I thought the book with almost the same title that came out in the 90s was bad!! To be fair though, I laughed my ass off when that guy suggested selling him to a taxidermist. Then there's a fire, for no apparent reason other than, as the book states: "there is always fire". I coul...

Upset okay yes, but announcing your resignation in the middle of a mission is not exactly the moral high ground, especially if you take it back after some coaxing. I guess I just want him to grow up a little. He's been backsliding. Excalibur Kurt wouldn't have been such a fool. Hopefully being resur...
