Dave's perspectives on X-Men

I don't have a problem with Quicksilver and Wanda being Magneto's children. We know he was married to Magda, who was terrified of his powers, and presumably she was their mother. I think it enrichens the Magneto backstory. But if you want the real authoritatyive viewpoint, you should ask Paty. :bamf

Osteoarthritis in the knee, and you're a dance teacher? Gaaahh! It seems likd nature sets out to give us the ailments most inconvenience for our life styles. As Larry Niven would say, 'TANJ!' (There ain't no justice!'

My day with the Cockrum's

Paty was born & raised in Carrol County, Maryland. I was born in Pendleton, Oregon and my family rambled all over the country thanks to the vagaries of military service, primarily in Wshington State, Illinois, Colorado, and then both of us spent more than 30 years in New York--at first separatel...

That previous surgery was on the left eye too. I'd had broken blood vessels in it and they had left 'floaters'--floating debris--which interfered with my vision. After the surgery to clear out the floaters, my vision in that eye was blurred; it seems the surgery accelerated the growth of a cataract....

Dave's perspectives on X-Men

I don't consider Magneto evil. Having gone through the Holocust and seen most of his people murdered, he's determined to prevent it from happening again to mutantkind, who he's adopted as his new family/race.

He is ruthless in his methods sometimes, I'll say that for him.

Yeah, well, I fought the kitchen floor and the kitchen floor won. I've been sleeping in a sitting position for nearly two weeks now, because it's excruciating to lay down. My doctor has X-rayed my back and feels that it's muscle trauma, but she also wants a bone scan to make sure. Oh yeah--I'm also ...

Since going on dialysis I feel a lot better, but my hands have stiffened considerably. My left hand has become all but useless. Fortunately, I'm right handed. I've done some limited sketching lately, but nothing very elaborate. My eyes are still giving me problems, and I have cataracht surgery comin...

Aardwolf (Help!)

This to Brandon--Cliff Meth tells me that Aardwolf got a new service provider and has had nothing but trouble since. Cliff is going on vacation for several days but promised to get back to me on his return. I know Aardwolf wants to do right by everybody.

Aardwolf (Help!)

There will be more art and tributes, including some of my own work that was intended for Bamf 2. But it'll be pricey--my understanding is that they're planning on charging around $100 for it.

I don't have Jim Reeber's email address, but my friend Cliff Meth will. I'll give him a holler and ask for it. I'll get back tto you when I have it.

We'll see. Depends on whether my hand is cooperating. If I do, it'll most likely be pencils only--my inking skills have gone to hell the last couple of years. Price is usually$30 per figure.

Brandon-- I'm sorry about your problem with Aardwolf. It's my understanding that they're out of the Tribute book, although they're planning on publishing a prestige hardcover edition. What I suggest is that you try contacting Aardwolf again, attention: Jim Reeber, and explain the problem. :bamf [Edi...

Ok, first of all, let me say it was a dynamite event, in spite of the weather. There were some great '70s theme outfits. Barb, John & I wore dashikis, and Paty had a great caftan. One of Paty's nephews wore a gold lame'/tiger-striped jacket, 4-inch platforms (and he was already 6'5"!), a hu...

FYI: Paty and I are leaving Wednesday, June 7th and will be out of touch for a week. Paty's oldest boy, Phil, is getting married (his first, at the ripe age of 39) and we're returning to New York to witness this miracle. This requires some tricky logistics; I have to have two dialysis sessions up th...

My sentiments exactly. It wasn't much more than an attempt to prevent some other company from using the word Marvel on a female haracter. Having grabbed off the word Marvel--and thereby preventing the REAL Captain Marvel from using his own name as a logo for his book--they figured to cover thee fiel...

Dave's perspectives on X-Men

Quite frankly, I prefer bright colors on superheroes, andd so does my wife, Paty, who colored it. I hate the dark, gritty look. Yes, there were difficult periods on X-Men. I remember having a real battle with the incasion of Muir Island in X-Men #104. Don't ask me why, now. We got rid of the name Ma...
