Basically, he's a being of pure psionic energy. The rest of his body that appears "normal" is just a shell that remains from his non-mutated days. Conceivably, if you chopped off one of his hands, for example, there'd be a hand made of energy in its place.

Very nice job on the coloring, btw. But the orange background takes away something from the overall pic for me. I would have gone for a cooler or darker color.

Eh, other than the extreme close up on Lorna in the second page, I think she looked quite good. In the last panel on the third page especially.

I'd suggest adding a layer of white cotton along the bottom of the hat. More of a christmas-y cap that way, IMO.
