Okay, Zaphod Beeblebrox is 1000 posts just because I said so. But yes, it is hard to fill in the middle.

I approve SO HARD. Mixing genres for the win.

New Forum Platform: Issues and Questions

As I'm sure everyone can tell by now, we've migrated to a new forum platform! Hopefully I've made the change as seamless as possible, but I know there's always more to do. Please post any issues or questions you have here! Some FAQs: 1. Where's Today's Posts? Click the View new posts link on the boa...

Re: 12/30 Announcement: Nightscrawlers's New Year!

It's not related. Are you connecting using Java? java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused indicates either the server's completely down (which it's not; there are six people online currently) or your local network is blocking you from accessing the server.

SOPA/PIPA Blackout

It's all good, Bman. In any case, I too am heartened by the withdrawal of support for SOPA (its own sponsor doesn't want anything to do with it anymore), but I hope people don't get complacent as I've seen that happen too many times then seen the legislation smuggled into an omnibus bill and signed....

SOPA/PIPA Blackout

Don't get me wrong, I support the movement, but no the way they're doing it. I don't think blacking-out websites solves much of anything. How does blacking out high-profile Web sites not solve the problem of lack of awareness? I think people noticed. I've read different things about it ...pro and c...

Well, hopefully not. That's what I've been trying to prevent with all the preparation. :)

Update

Hey all, I suppose we've gotten as much input as we're going to get at this point. So I'm going to tentatively schedule moving to the new platform a week from now, or we're never going to move at all. The forum will be down from 9:30 p.m. EST - 10:30 p.m. EST on Monday, January 23rd, 2012, after whi...

Teenager struggled with bullying before taking his life

On a related note, a friend who I quite like and respect posted regarding the above story:

Teenager struggled with bullying before taking his life

It saddens me every time I have to update this topic. Eric James Borges, Gay Teen Filmmaker, Commits Suicide One Month After Producing 'It Gets Better' Video Just one month after filming an "It Gets Better" video in support of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth, a Californ...

Teenager struggled with bullying before taking his life

It just seems a little far fetched (IMO) to believe when someone blows themselves up in a suicide bomb they're not at least a little mentally disturbed. Sure they are, but that has nothing to do with their religion. Take a basic course in Islam and you'll realize that. I would also disagree that bu...

Teenager struggled with bullying before taking his life

Well, I'm actually curious about this. So I will in fact attempt to do some research on my own, when next I have access to my academic databases and I'm not busy. Judging by the past few weeks, that will be sometime in 2030. Edit: That's not a cop-out; I had just really hoped you had some sort of (o...

Neither do I, but then again, when it has come up in a relevant conversation, I have seen people pop off and start calling each other "pervert" or "hate-filled homophobic bigot" for no good reason. There's no question that it's as easy to be a bigot when you're gay as it is to b...

12/30 Announcement: Nightscrawlers's New Year!

I have finally gotten off my ass and fixed the above issue.

I have at least one report that users are unable to get past the login screen in Safari. Can anyone reproduce this?

Thanks,

the section's links and their descriptions, it's just too much the same colour in my opinion, for a second I was unsure where to cliick. You're right; "Nightcrawler" should be the same yellow color all the other links are (both on XMB and phpBB). I'll try to do this tonight and see what p...

12/30 Announcement: Nightscrawlers's New Year!

Per user input, I have removed limits on private messages; we may institute them again later, but for now there's no real reason to do so at the moment. I have also changed the profile to be on the left and body on the right for posts, as consensus was quite clear on that. :P Known Issues: (I will k...

12/30 Announcement: Nightscrawlers's New Year!

The Nightscrawlers staff and administration is very pleased to announce that for this new year, we're going to be able to do what we've wanted to do for a very long time: move the forum to a new platform! There's a lot to be said for Nightscrawler's current platform (XMB), but its development has be...

The Best of Nightscrawlers Chat!

There has been a Croc sighting
Haha, I doubt that was real especially as he recited his famous character quote instead of some complete non sequiter. If I'd have seen this sooner, I could have told you if it was or not (if I felt like it and not just keeping the information to myself). :P

Major Troubles For Picutres!

Cember619, you should be able to access the pictures in the gallery now. There was a bug in the gallery's code which I shall report.

Cheers!

Edit: The gallery theme may look weird for a bit until I get it fully customized to the new version.

Indeed, I need to bridge the gallery with the forum so you only need to be logged into the forum. It's not very easy, but I'll try to get it done today or tomorrow. :)

Digital Comics -- Can They Make The Leap?

Well, different companies have different pricing strategies. One thing to consider, especially when you're not limited to 500 MB as you are with DC (I haven't heard that) is that you could have an entire series from start to finish stored in a Kindle or the like and it would take 1/100th the space i...

Digital Comics -- Can They Make The Leap?

Ah. When you said transfer a bunch of your titles, I thought you meant issues that you already have in print. You can see why I'd question why you'd want to do that. If you mean future issues, then I'd absolutely agree digital's an option.

Digital Comics -- Can They Make The Leap?

Okay, can someone explain to me how the pricing for Online Digital Comics works? I'm really confused.... I don't get why they're $3.99... and wy some are $1.99... and others are .99.... or Free.... The thing with digital comics is that their price can be adjusted almost instantly to meet "dema...

I'm in GISHWHES (greatest international scavenger hunt the world has ever seen). It's fun. I'm currently making a seagull out of tampons and maxi pads. A thing I would have never experienced without randomacts in my life. Woo! And guess who forgot to record a video for Paws, having said he was goin...
